One of the most comfortable shoes I got and I love the style of it. A really versatile shoe that goes with most outfits. I recommend it. The quality is top notch, I guarantee no one would be disappointed

Super shoe for plantar fasciitis. I have bought this shoe for years.

I am 72 and have a bad hip. I needed a shoe for walking that would be kind to my hip. My first pair worked so well and helped so much, that even though I live on a restricted income and normally shop thrift shores for my clothes, I invested in these shoes again. I wore my first pair almost non-stop for over 3 years, walking up to four miles several times a week, and sometimes as much as seven miles. I wore them for work projects, I wore them in dirt as wet grass, often without socks. However, the clincher for buying them again was the fact that I step into my shoes. I leave them loosely laced up to the next to last hole. In three years of constant stepping in and out of those shoes, the shoes still fit snug to my feet and the heel tops have never broken or shredded. I was watching for that- if those heel tops had worn out, it would have been a deal breaker. It appears that so far New Balance has not sold out on quality as most other brands of goods have done. Now that I have the new shoes, I use the old ones for extra dirty jobs and throw them in the washer. They come out fine. Wow. My new pair? I don't have the nerve to throw them in the washer; I just try to keep them clean. But other than that, I'm wearing them the same way as I did the old ones, and so far they are living up to my expectations.

I am on my sixth pair of 990 shoes. I run six miles four time a week. I had tendinitis in my knees from playing 15 years of full court basketball but after wearing 990's my knees returned to full health. I am 63 now and feel like I am 30 even after running 6 miles. The only time I do not have these shoes on is when I am wearing formal wear. Great quality from an American made shoe. I highly recommend 990's to all my family and friends.

I've been a loyal NB customer now for 25 years. The 990v5 or any iteration there-of, specifically. My only complaint? NB used to run specials. But one pair, get a second pair at 50% off. Haven't seen that in years!

I walk for exercise every day as a 70 year old retired person. These shoes have helped me lose a lot of weight and greatly improve my health. The only change I make is to insert OTC Powerstep Maxx insoles due to my flat feet.

Been running for 70 years, longer than Forrest Gump. Basketball, Football (Even a Super Bowl), Track (880, high hurdles, HJ), and with AA flat feet. Real flat feet. These are the best fit yet. Flat narrow feet with zero padding require a great shoe and there are the ticket!!

New Balance are the best shoes for those of us with wide feet. I will never buy another athletic brand.

Shoes fit well and are comfortable. I have worn these shoes from years now. I like that they come in regular, narrow and wide.

The 990 series is a great shoe. Last about 9 months with frequent use. Use to buy 2 pair a year, price has changed that. But I would prefer American made thus raising cost. Thanks for great product.

Use for practice and races (half and soon full marathon) up/down Barr Trail on Pikes Peak. I have narrow feet so I buy the B width. Except for the 998 Bringbacks, this family of shoes (99x) has always fit perfectly and they provide stability and comfort needed for long distance running on very uneven and varying surfaces. Being mostly made of USA materials in the USA they last longer than foreign made shoes. I always turn them into general walking shoes for years after I retire them from running.

This is my go-to everyday casual shoe. I am a tall guy and no light-weight. This shoe offers great support and cushioning and my feet don't hurt!

This is my second pair in the last year and it is an excellent shoe. Will buy again. I use mostly for walking and it is very comfortable. It is a bit pricey but worth it. Wish NB would put it on sale occasionally.
