I've worn vans all my life but these missed the mark. I recently started using an electric skateboard and got these for the ankle support for a linger trip but they are so uncomfortable. There is an extra pice of canvas that runs on the outer foot area that puts pressure on your foot. My toes are numb in 10 minutes. I thought it was the elastic that holds the tongue so a cut that to relieve the pressure so I won't be able to return them. Tried to break them in more but it was useless. This is extremely disappointing.

These pair for some reason cut into the back of my feet and I got a size up on purpose.

The gum soles on the black ones with the white stripe are not really tan colored like in the Vans web site picture. In person, the gum soles look more translucent and with brownish tan tint. The personal picture I'm uploading is also misleading about the color of the gum soles on these. I like the gum soles on another pair of Vans I have better. It looks more the color like in the Vans web site picture online. I'm in dire need of shoes, so I may have to choose these shoes, even though I'm disappointed with them. I also don't like the checkered flag below the stripe. It complicates the look of the shoe. I also didn't like the width of the shoe and would prefer a more narrow fit, but I often have this problem with shoes. I wear a size 11 in women's, but don't have a very wide foot.

Purchased for my teenage son. He loved the appearance (black with gum rubber sole) and skate style of the shoe, but hated that they weren't comfortable on his feet and actually hurt to wear them. We are in the process of sending them back. He loves Vans, and was stoked for a new pair but these were unfortunately a huge disappointment.

I love the look of these shoes. And I wish they would fit :( But they are definitely WAY too tight. They are NOT like the classic slip-ons. I even got a size bigger and they were just too tight and uncomfortable. Definitely will have to return these.

Very comfortable, nice fit, great impact support, good grip nice look, hole formed after 10 minutes of skateboarding. These are great shoes for every day use but why they chose to go with canvas right where skateboarders ollie is beyond me. I wish I could have gotten the Old skool pros that used suede and everyone seemed to love on reddit.

Hello, I'm a disabled 29 year old women who wears between a L-XL in clothing and my shoe size is 9 in woman's. I want to start off by saying that I was so excited for these shoes to drop! I think this is a cute design and the quality of the material is really good, but I will say I don't think this specific design is a good fit for anyone who isn't slim. I really only ordered these shoes to begin with because the Sailor Moon black comic Vans I originally ordered got canceled 5 times. I wanted a slip on shoe anyway so I figured why not these, and it made sense to think this was going to be an easy, cute slip on shoe. Unfortunately that wasn't my case. I really liked the design of these shoes on the website but now having them in person and trying them on, for me at least, personally, the tilted patches bother me. I'm rating these a two because I want to love these shoes so bad, but unfortunately I'm stuck with them because as I mentioned before I'm disabled and unable return them to store in my current condition. I require a special tool to help me reach and put on my all my shoes. Usually with all my vans putting them on is not a problem at all when using my special tool, and my foot usually just slips right in to a size 9 Vans. I ended up ordering a size up to a 9.5 (because the 9 was sold out and my order got canceled) and thankfully I did!! Due to sizing up, I was able to fit in the shoes. But because the fabric so tight all around it was so hard putting them on even when using my tool. The worst part of all is they honestly it feels like they are suffocating my poor feet that after that whole struggle of trying to get them on (with no socks since I was just trying them on with pantyhose) all you want to do I rip them off and I couldn't even try walking anywhere with them. I honestly have never tried slip on Vans before but I'm definitely never buying them again. That's not to say I didn't like the shoes, or the quality, but if I could I would honestly return them. I love Vans and I wear them all the time but I'm definitely going to stick to the lace up shoes. This just felt like a waste of money since this are so uncomfortable.

The black shine on the sides of the shoe crack and peel won't last longer than 2 days being shinny like they were when bought

I did end up returning, as the other reviews are correct. If you are not going to wear crew socks with these, they will rub. I had them on all of 3 minutes and my heel was red. Bummer because I really wanted to keep these, loved the design.

I have been trying to get a pair of large checks for long time and these hit the mark n looks perfectly. Unfortunately something is off on dimensions as back of ankle instantly started rubbing against me and both feet have blisters where shoes rubs. It's not shoes size bc I do have 10 pairs at 10.5 and all fit. It is just too tight around ankle I feel. I wear no-see docks from vans. So bummed

I've never had a problem with the pros, I wanted to give these new slip-on shoes a try, I had to size up because it wasn't the same sizing as the pros and I can definitely say it's a tight fit, I like how it's more durable but not at the expense of comfort and pain, I love vans slip ons so I hope they try new things out and not settle for the formula they have currently.

Like many others, I have found these shoes to be unwearable due to bad fit and terrible blister-causing heel rub. I've worn Vans for more than 30 years. My shoe size hasn't changed in decades. So why can't I count on the fact that these would fit the same as Classics? They're tight all around even with thin socks, and the heel rub is brutal. Maybe it's the "Internal heel stiffeners" you guys added, I dunno. I love the improved durability features, look, styling, and the popcush concept. I really wanted these shoes to work. But so far they're just $$ down the drain.

Very firm shoe, the heel is very tough and the shoe overall just hurts to wear. After two days of skating in them I just cant wear them anymore because my feet have blisters from the shoes, I even went a size up.

I have always loved the checkerboard slip ons! I have several old pairs currently! My wife and I just bought a pair, man what's up vans!?!? What changed? They killed both our heels the first few hours of wearing them! Blisters on both heels for me and my wife!

Two pairs of vans...both got holes in the big toe area fairly quickly. Fir this price, I expect them to last for over a year. Casual wear. Work (a retail job) the park, walking the dog. Also, customer service sucked trying to replace a pair that got a hole 2 months after purchase. They were jerks, rude.

After reading comments, I went a size bigger, they are still so hard to get on. The fabric is so stiff, no give at all. I love the look, but the fit is not good. They are extremely tight/low in the Toe/Vamp area. If you have an arch, you foot will hurt.

A few weeks in and they're still really stiff and give me hot spots and blisters on heals and tops of feet. The older versions were way better.

Great look, but really bad design. You will get bloody blisters on your heel every time, and they feel super tight. Would not recommend.

This could really be the perfect Vans slip on. Except that the sewn-in heel support is so poorly executed that I get bloody blisters on my heel every time I wear them. If Van's ever fixes this problem, this would be my perfect shoe.

I got 2 days' worth of wear on these before a large hole of wear came in on the side of the shoe. I expect this kind of wear from my shoes but after 2 days of use I would expect the fabric to hold. I got these from my local shop and would have stuck with the Skate old Skool model had they been available.
