My family were not outdoorsy or hat people until we got a puppy. Now we are outside all the time on walks or at the park. My family has sensitivities to chemicals so we limit exposure to products like chemical sunscreens and use barrier clothing as much as possible. My oldest 6yo is autistic and can't stand the feeling of a hat brim on the back of his neck so bucket styles are completely out for him. This kids play hat is the perfect compromise of style, comfort, and sun coverage for us. I even found the kids hats to have a lovely added feature of reflective trim! The colors were way better in person than online too. I will be back to buy for my other child as well as my husband soon!

This hat really tops the chart. Having young children makes it all the more important to protect skin for a life-time. This Play Hat provides excellent coverage in a light-seeming, stylish hat. It feels light on the head and has a nice shape. Not too large and bulky-- not hot in the summer months-- just all around perfect. The search is over! We love the pretty pink for girly-girls. The solid colors are nice, as well. Clean like a charm.

I found this website while searching the internet for a hat that would give good sun protection, and fell in love with these hats! I have one for each of my 7 children and they love them! You can't find anything like this in Australia, which is odd given the harshness of our summers and the high incidence of skin cancer here. I tell everyone about this site - Best. Hat. Ever.

This hat is comfortable for my 20 month old twins. They like it and don't take it off. I bought these hats when they were about 8 months. They have always been a little big but fit pretty well now and are sized 6-24 months. However I wish they were more adjustable which is the reason for 4 stars on the fit. The hats are lightweight and keep the sun off their neck and face. Since they were a little too big at first the brim was pretty low so I would tug on the back to tilt the hat so they could see better. I love the safety strap feature. Overall it's a great hat and I will buy the next size up when these are too small.

We got this hat for my 1 and 4 year old kids and I'm going to use them as a b-day presents for my kids friends.

We have been using these hats for years with my older daughter. We bought this one for our baby. The coverage is exceptional and the style is really cute. We miss the other type (long, adjustable) of clasp around the chin though, this one is really hard to buckle under a baby's chin

I wish the mesh (grey) was the same color as the hat (blue). And I like the strap on the sun sprout better since it doesn't dangle off the chin. Otherwise it's the perfect hat.

The strap has a breakaway tab on it so very easy for my 1 year old to pull it off his head every few minutes.

We had the infant/small hat and just purchased a medium for our almost 2 year old. We loved her first hat but there are some nice improvements with the newer version including the chin strap. The medium fits well now and it can grow with her using the adjustment features. My only complaint is that the hat just looks a bit large on her for now. But it's worth it for the fit and sun coverage!

Beautiful hat and very well made. My only issue with this hat is it measures slightly smaller than their size chart, so it feels a bit snug for a bigger the headed customer. I would double check size chart with customer service.

These are the best sun hats that you can find to protect your little ones from the sun: easy to dry(water resistant), bendable for suitcase, light weight, wide coverage, doesn't fall. I got one for each of my kids. However, I m giving 4 stars as I find the selection of colors too sharp and the graphics on the hats can be improved.

Great hat. Have received lots of compliments on design. Maybe slightly too large for our 7 month old, despite being able to adjust it, but I'm sure she'll grow into it. Would definitely recommend.

We love this hat. Great fit and very well made. The only reason I rated this hat a 4 is because we also ordered the kids bucket hat which is vented on top and seems much cooler for our daughter. Happy with both purchases though.

The hat has a very wide brim which provides great sun protection. I wish the buckle were a bit sturdier, but so far the hat has been great.

Great shade and love the adjustability, really lots of range. The baby doesn't love it yet though and she did love her last Sunday Afternoon hat. Hopefully it grows on her.

Very cute! Kids love it! The only thing it's missing is a ponytail hole like the adult women's one I have but otherwise perfect .

I love these hats and buy enough to keep at school car and home. I just wish the chin strap was not white it stains so easily and cant get it clean!

We have been wearing the play hat in our house since 2010 and absolutely love it. We are constantly getting compliments and questions about where to buy, I recently sized up for two of my children and am disappointed with the chin strap on newer models. The old style had a simple clip that was easy to use. With the new toggle there is so much loose fabric that hangs that I am worried it will be a nuisance at the park. There is still the breakaway feature for safety but I would prefer not to worry about this extra fabric getting caught.

We just received this hat and gave to our 2.5 years old daughter. The hat shape is so good, and my daughter's whole face is under cover. We are so glad we bought this one. And we will recommend this play hat to other friends.

I purchased this for our 6-month old and we love it. We run a farm, and we put this hat on our little guy as we're packing him around doing chores. It keeps him cool, protected, and able to be out on the farm with us.

This hat provides excellent coverage. I got the 6-24 month size since my family lives in high altitude desert and we spend most days outdoors. At 7 months it is still a little large, but fits securely with the chin straps, there is ample room for her to grow into it. Fun punchy colors!
