My 3 and 5 year old wore these hats to a water preserve and to the beach and these hats are FANTASTIC! I purchased the African Violet color for my daughter and had so many compliments on the style and color. I love everything about these hats- light weight, water repellent (tested with ocean water- it beads off and drops off! I was so happy!), color and wearability (my kids will actually wear these and not fuss- MAJOR PLUS). The protection from the sun in our sunny state of Florida was also a major benefit. At the beach, the shadow from the hat covered a lot of body surface in the mid day sun! What a relief! I love these hats! Brilliant product! Thanks, Sunday Afternoon!

Great hat. Protects her head and eyes from the sun. I originally ordered the 6-24 mos size for my 12 month old but it was way too big! I kept it for next summer and then ordered the smaller size. Even the smallest hat is a little big on her but it works and she leaves it on. Overall I am pleased with the hat. The measurements on the website are accurate - make sure you measure your baby's head before ordering.

This hat has been through it all. My son swims in it, fished in it, got bucked off his pony with it (don't grab tree limbs while riding your pony! ) and ran through two summers with it and he is sunburn free always! We love it! After seeing him, my husband and dad have also purchased hats from here as well!

I got this for my 2 year old granddaughter in pink, she loves it...we have a lake house and she is with us on weekends. She is a redhead and FAIR..I purchased several items for her, but this hat will be the weekender for her! Easy to put on, and I love the safety release.

These hats are great sun protection but I love them because they hold their shape when wet. When we started using this brand they no longer tried to take off their hats because they couldn't see.

The fit is so nice that it actually stays on my son and love that it doesn't fall over his eyes. This hat is a perfect fit for him, I love all the features and it's the only one I use for my kids. I like the adjustable chin strap and back of hat. I even bought the Adventure Hat style for myself and my husband. I have bought ten different hats for my kids and now this brand is my absolute favorite. My whole family wears them!

This is my 3rd play hat from Sunday Afternoons. I like that it is lightweight, portable, and Provides sun protection. Wish it could has more color to choose from.

We purchased four of these hats for our grandchildren. They are a great product for sun safety, and the children love them.

My kids had these hats and wore them religiously until they outgrew them. Very comfortable and effective for keeping the sun off their tender faces and necks. They were perfect in Disneyland - I could easily spot my kids in any crowd!

I have 3 boys and they enjoy wearing the kids play hat. I always take it wherever we go. Very easy to carry and pack. The only drawback is trying to keep track of them since my boys sometimes remove them and they have gotten lost. This is my second time purchasing them. This time I bought name labels to place in each hat.

I bought this hat (blue) in the child (2-5) size when my son was 18 months old. As his head circumference is in the 90 percentile, cinched in the back it stayed on just fine then, and now, at 3-3/4 years old it is still going strong. We have a strict no hat/no outside play rule whenever it's sunny (I only had to leave the park early twice at the beginning of the summer and after that he always kept it on) so this hat has been worn pretty much every warm day for 2+ years, it's gone to the beach, in rivers, been covered in mud, been on countless hikes, scrunched in bags, tossed about the car, and it is just now starting to show to faintest signs of color fade from use. It still functions perfectly. The brim still has good shape to it and not a single stitch has unraveled. I never put sunscreen on my son's face (he hates it) and he has never been burnt. I love the full brim coverage, both front and back, and even though he tends to be a hot little guy, he never complains about his hat making him hot so I think the vents work well, and if it's really hot out, he just wets his hat. He is not a fan of chin straps, so can't attest to the functionality of this feature, but I loop it through the tag in the back of his hat which keeps it out of his way. I cannot recommend this hat highly enough! I think I will need to get him the next size up next year when he will be 4-1/2 at the beginning of the summer, but that's only because he has a big head.

I wasn't sure how my 3 year old daughter was going to like this hat because it seemed quite large in the pictures. She loves it! It is the only hat that she will KEEP ON!

Super functional, great fitting sun hat. Provides great coverage and nice and lightweight. My daughter can get it on an off by herself and loves wearing it. Keeps the sun out of her eyes and off her face.

I was having so much trouble finding a good sunhat in stores. I am SO glad I ordered these for my girls! The coverage is perfect, the two adjustable straps make for a perfect fit and the sizes are forgiving, (the youth and child sizes can fit my two and four year-olds pretty much interchangably, my kids are a little big-headed though) the top is light and airy and the brim is stiffer to keep it from folding backward during breezy weather like other hats. Its also way cuter than I expected. I bought primrose, the color is pretty acurate on here, its a nice pinkish/lavender. This is just what I was looking for.

I bought one for my granddaughter and neice so they would stop wearing mine. It's great when we go outside together. They love to wear them.

I chose this style for my 16 month-old daughter, wanting something with great coverage (especially considering sundresses and tank/spaghetti straps) combined with great visibility (for her) and comfort (she hates keeping hats on...still working on that issue). Love how lightweight the hat is, and the colour was pretty much exactly as pictured. The adjustable straps work very well, and even though I bought the child (suggested ages 2-5) size for long-term use, she can wear it this summer when cinched - and it doesn't look bunchy or too big, despite there being room to grow. The brim seems wide enough for good sun protection, but its structure does not block her vision as far as I can tell. There is great coverage over her upper back. I don't usually like the look of kids' hats designed for functional sun coverage, but the style of this is cute on her, and I don't feel that I had to sacrifice (much) fashion in order to get function!

Ordered from the US to Canada - I am so happy to find a hat that gives so much protection ie. shade over the forehead/eyes. Particularly with a child that doesn't want to wear sunglasses. This hat is fun for her to put on and off herself and the clip mechanism is great, seems very tough to tolerate the little hands.

My kids and their friends have worn these hats for years and they love it. It's so comfortable to wear that some times my kids forget to take it off in their classroom! I'm ordering one for my 2yrs old child b/c she likes to wear her older sisters' hats around the house.

We have been using these hats for years. So glad they keep coming in bigger sizes. Best coverage of any hat I have seen. The strap keeps the hat on and the release keeps them safe. I love all of the color choices.

We bought one of these hats for our fair-skinned red-headed 2 year old. It lasted FIVE YEARS and only ripped because she pulled really hard on it during a kayak trip in a downpour. We get so many positive comments on the hat. It does a great job of really blocking the sun on her whole face.

Moving to Phoenix, AZ from Europe I knew I had to find good hats for me and my daughter. These hats are THE BEST on the market and I pass on the name Sunday Afternoons daily, I am not kidding!!! Fantastic product and very affordable, wonderful gift for a child or adult.
