Excellent sun protection and stylish but a bit heavy for the hottest weather.

Great hat except it isn't ventilated on top despite looking like it is. Wide brim gives great coverage.

Great hat. Sizing is accurate. Drawback: shipped crushed in a bag. Sad. Should be shipped in a protective box. Be professional.

Size L fit great. Light weight yet not floppy, nice rigid brim. Worn while gardening but nice enough to wear to any casual outdoor event.

Fit and comfortable. Block lots of sunlight but the sweat will stuck in your hat if it's too hot

Had mine for a few years now. Everything has held up well, except over repeated saltwater spray exposure, the rim will warp on you. Haven't found a good way to return it to its original shape. Might be able to avoid a little if you hand wash immediately after exposure but who is honestly going to do that

Color was darker green then it looked online. Fit is great and I'm keeping it.

Wide brim, would like deeper hat and more flexible brim. Keeping for hikes. Probably won't wear around town.

I received my Charter Hat as a gift. It is extremely comfortable and cool in warm weather, but ever since it got soaked in a downpour in Hawaii the brim is no longer uniform and gently curved. It is cockeyed and I haven't been able to fix it. Shame since it was a nice hat, but I don't wear it as often as I did because it no longer give's my face the kind of sun protection it needs due to the irregular bend the brim has taken. I would recommend this as a sun hat. Just don't get it soaked with water or your brim may waffle on it as it did on mine.

I've got two of these charter hats. I like them a lot. They look good. The brim provides a lot of shade and the retention strap adjusts easily. They hold up very well even when abused on a boat. They easily crush into my carry on. But on a recent trip to Spain the lack of ventilation became a problem. I'm used to wearing mine in the heat, but in Spain the hat was on almost all the time. I've been accused of being a hot head before but in that instance I really was a hot head. There really is precious little real ventilation in these hats. Surely Sun Day could improve the ventilation. I came on to the site to look for a better ventilated model but figured I would share my thoughts while I'm here. Hopefully the next edition will have some useful ventilation. I live in south Florida so I often wear m

Hi. I like my new hat. I use it when I go hiking and brisk walking around the neighborhood. I thought the brim would be a bit bigger all around that I need to wear a separate visor to protect my face from the sun. I guess I should have selected another type of hat, but so far so good. Thank.s

The firm brim catches wind easily, so if in a windy environment it may fly off. Other than that, happy with it.

Fits well. Looks good but I don't like how the sunglass keeper slots gape open when not in use; i probably won't use this feature at all anyway. I may sew these shut. I don't like that you are supposed to hand wash; I did not verify this before buying so that's on me. If you wear a hat hiking it's going to get sweat stained. I am giving it 4 stars for now because I can't speak to durability; I've only worn it once. After I have worn it on a few hikes, I will try to update this review. All told at this point it's a good hat and I recommend it.

This hat was high quality, but didn't work for me. My head measures a little less than 23" and this hat was too small in size Medium, which is what was recommended for my measurements. I like the feature of vents on top, and the wide brim, but it didn't work out.

The Charter Hat is my second Sunday Afternoons hat (The other one is the Cruiser Hat). The Charter is a comfortable, well designed, lightweight hat. I am using it mainly in the city when I need sun protection and it gives a good combination of nice appearance and sun protection. The only remark I have: the upper crown of the hat I got has been sewn a little bit off center. This is a production and quality control issue.

Hat is very versatile and meets all expectations. It was delivered quickly. It is a much better hat for the price than competitors.

This is a great looking hat which is very light and cool. I use it to protect me from the sun as much as possible when I run on these warm Texas Spring days (I'll use the Adventure Hat with the coming devastating hot July/August months). My problem was the sizing. I have a medium head size 7-1/8, but the Charter hat begins at M/L 7-1/2. And though adjustable it wasn't enough to quit feeling like someone whose pants are too big and uses a belt too make it fit -it is too large to be adjusted. I was going to return the hat for a smaller size, but there is no S/M size. I kept it, but do not recommend anyone to buy this hat if your hat size is Medium; this is really a Large adjustable Charter hat.

The hat seemed really well made and I loved the color. It was too large, so the store clerk showed me that it was adjustable by a tab inside the brim. I bought it and intended to wear it that day. However before I could remove the tags, the " adjusting band" broke rendering it too large for me. I returned it for an eventual refund. Personally - I think the adjustable band idea is a loser. A hat like this should last the wearer a decade or more. Relying on an internal band to keep the fit assures that it will wear out fast. Just a corner cutting method to avoid making hats in appropriate sizes.

The hat was much darker that a similar hat I had purchased elsewhere several years ago. Better to select a hat in the store. It fit fine, but even my wife said it looked nice, but too brownish and I would regret it every time I wore it

Very light and comfortable to wear. My head 23.5" and based on Sizing Chart I ordered the Large. Sizing adjustment seems to hold so far. The Medium might have been suitable. I was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED that the color is MUCH DARKER than shown in on the photo--even when you factor in print or monitor differences. If your familiar with RBG colors it's closer to 120, 113, 101. I'm keeping it. But I'm not a Happy Camper about it.

Like the hat....basically...but why can't hat manufacturers do the things we want. They'd sell more hats for sure. Firstly...the adjustable fit works well. The flappy bits on top even work to ventilate in the rain. Good. Now my criticisms. The chin strap attaches right at my ears...as they do for others. It's too far back and the hats blows off or lifts in strong winds. I moved the attachment points forward 40mm. Works well now. The brim, despite a plastic outer rim strip, lifts in strong winds and it doesn't have enough of a downward cast for sun protection on the sides. I took to it with scissors and put a few "darts" in the sides of the brim and then glued a sheet of stiff foam right around under the brim. That fixed those problems. Sunday Afternoons...we want stiff brims! Lastly, you know how we park sunglasses up on top of baseball caps? It works with caps because they have a firm shape. 'Doesn't work with this hat though - glasses fall off every time I look down. I added glasses arm keepers at the side and a narrow hook and loop strap at the front. That fixed that problem. Gee, I rather all this was done at manufacture though. I'd pay the extra.
