I purchased online the trail shoe for rugged trails I could encounter on paved walks and urban trekking. The look of the blue/grape colors are more vibrant than others I shopped. That was a bonus. The fit is a 10 1/2, a 1/2 size up my normal foot size. That was the advice from a NB employee. And I'm pleased with the room I have. The security of the bottom sole is one of the best I've had. The fresh foam is definitely there and keeps my feet comfortable all day until I take the shoes off. I'm glad I purchased this shoe.

Purchased these shoes after I got achillies tendinitis from walking 30 miles in Disney in a poor fitting and non-supportive shoe. Along with stretching and anti-inflammatory cream this shoe has been instrumental in my recovery. Where others have complained about NB shoes being made narrow, I welcome the narrowed shoe...especially in the heels. So, between the shoe's supportive ankle, wider/stabilizing sole and ample room for a stabilizing heel cup the shoe is near perfect. Looking forward to the 2022 colors.

These seem a half size smaller to me and definitely not a wide. I feel really comfortable except for the toe area, my toes feel cramped. I guess I need to order a men’s size.

Every morning my husband and I take our dog on the walking trail behind our house. I never had shoes so supportive as these. They are a bit heavy and takes some time to get use to running in!

Theese shoes are amazing. They really hug your feet nicely and makes your feet feel really secure. It seems to be pretty slip proof on hike trips. Will definately recomend theese.

These shoes are not the most stylish but they are the most comfortable I've ever owned! Plenty of support for running and biking. Knowing what I know now about these I would be more inclined to spend the money on these. My family is jealous of them and want some for themselves!

These have to be some of the best running/hiking shoes ever! I have worn them ever since I received them. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a good pair of running/hiking shoes, been wearing them to the track ever since.

I bought these for hiking. I live in the PNW and will easily end up hiking steep and technical terrain depending on the day. I was tired of wearing heavy hiking boots and decided to look for a trail running shoe instead for lightness and flexibility. These feel grippy and supportive in the wet and over roots and rocks, yet light/flexible like a tennis shoe which is great. I used to run but don't anymore and could see how these might feel a bit heavy if you are planning on true long distance trail running. For daily hikes they are perfect!

I use these shoes for hiking and light jogging. I have a small foot as well as wide. This shoe truly accommodates my high arch. Wore them on a 5 mile hike. They were just as advertised. I really am going to buy a few more of these in the great colors they have.

I bought this shoe for hiking. I often transition from paved to rocky, and these shoes work great. Although they are not the best looking shoe they more than makeup for that in their fit, comfort and stability.

Wish they had a little more cushioning. Other than that they are good. I hope they last more than 4 months.

I took these shoes out for a two-week backpacking trip on the Appalachian Trail in New Hampshire and Maine. I have hiked in NB trail runners for a long time and this version of the Hierro has pluses and minuses. Pros: the shoes are very comfortable, and traction from the soles is fantastic--I never felt like I didn't have good grip on the ground, even through the very steep and rocky terrain through the Whites, Mahoosucs, and Saddlebacks. Con: the shoes did not hold up well in the rugged terrain. All together, I put about 160 miles on these shoes--far short of the mileage it should be possible to wear them for. But even in that short time, the fabric upper on one foot tore apart at the toe, and the rubber sole of both shoes started to delaminate. It may be that these shoes would do better in the less rugged terrain of the mountain west, but for rocky, scrambly hiking, they didn't hold up nearly as well as I would have hoped. I'm going to try to do some repairs because they're still very comfortable, but for the price I would have expected them to hold up better.

I have a high arch.. can’t tighten the laces much on this shoe, but other than that I love the color and the comfy support that most new balance shoes are made of.

Bought wide version, I typically don't need wide shoes, but toes are still a little smooshed. Want more space in toe box. Great for my mix of trail and road runs. New Balance shoes have decent arch support unlike so many others. Section on back of the tread that sticks out gets caught frequently on roots while running, NB please don't include this next version of this shoe.
