When traveling by car, I used to pack a duffle bag and a laptop bag and it was always a hassle to keep things organized and simple. This bag is a perfect combination because I can pack my close and use the divider to section off my socks and toiletries and then the laptop and assorted accessories can fit in the abundant pockets! I now only need a single bag when traveling by car!

Context:
I'm 5'6" and am a smaller light build human with a short torso and not much muscles. Bought it for a 3-week trip to Japan. I started my trip with it full but not STUFFED.
Why I bought it:
I wanted a duffle over a hiking, travel backpack or standard carry-on luggage because it looked less overtly touristy.
Also the handle on the top for holding it upright on trains. The side handle for more stable hand carrying and backpack straps to make it easier to move through japan train station which are mostly stairs.
Ended up also being good for 3/4 days at walk-in campsites/yurts in the PNW and at music festivals. It fit my camping gear well.
My pros:
- Worked as a carry on my international flight to Japan and domestic flight to LA, both delta in 2022.
- The shoe compartment. Also great for dirty laundry.
- Slimmer side profile than the other duffle backpacks.
- Material is sturdy and pretty much waterproof with flaps over zipper.
- That it's packable (case is actually the shoe compartment, you flip it kind of inside out and stuff the pack into it). Good for taking up less space in my tent after unpacking my gear and also switching into a different luggage once I bought too many things while in Japan.
My cons:
- long on my back, would work better on a taller or long torso human.
- Not much padding on the backpack straps, not wide enough, shape not ergonomic. Dug into my shoulders, became quite uncomfy since my pack was on the heavier side cause i used compression cubes to get more clothes in. Probably would be less uncomfortable on people with a large, or more athletic build or who packed less?
- lack of back/shoulder comfort makes it unreasonable for me to carry for more than 30-60 min depending on weight.
- no side water bottle holder
In the end I still like it and use it. I want to buy the 32L since it will work better for my body size but am unsure it would still fit my camping gear and that has ended up being it's regular use.

This bag holds so much, I love that you can carry it like a back pack. I was able to bring everything I needed for a 10 day trip to Europe in this bag. Good Quality!

Sturdy. Lots of pockets. Very convenient. I've had bags similar to this, this one is best by far.

I use this bag for a long weekend trip. It is super durable and convenient. Holds a lot and love that it has back pack straps so it's easy to carry. Also love that it folds back into itself for easy storage.

This is almost the perfect one bag travel duffle. It is very well made and holds more than enough for a week or more in any season if you lash your coat/jacket to the side (lash points very convenient). It has numerous handles to lug, pull, or to lash items while on planes, trains, or automobiles. It is extremely water repellant with main zippers protected with flaps. I also enjoy the removable internal divider and mesh top pocket (I keep a travel towel, shower shoes, and life straw in that pocket...just in case). I used the smaller 38L (with wonderful water bottle/umbrella pocket) for a week long trip to Canada last December. I purchased to larger 42L in order to have a bit more room for boots for winter trips to snow prone regions! I have done a lot of world travel for the government and I wish I had had this bag when I found myself in some of the more out of the way places. The 38L also makes a great day bag for around town, a short hike off road, or the gym. Outstanding product.

Love love love this bag. I considered other options like the original Base Camp and Patagonia but chose this one. It looks so stylish, is pretty easy to hold or wear as a backpack, can be used as plane carry-on, and stacks well with other bags. Looks small but can fit a lot; I've used it for 3-4 day trips. I had a previous edition that I've had for a few years and is holding up great. I even bought a second for myself and another as a gift! Appreciate the new pockets that have been added as well. Definitely high quality and sturdy. Only downside is that it can get a little difficult to hold when heavy but that's only because it can fit so much.

Great gear to use for every kind of situation or travel! The size is just perfect for a week trip where you can fit shoes and even separate the big compartment with the internal tab.
In my opinion is a nice price-value as all my North Face gear lasts for years and the all black duffel has a really nice finish so it can be used in formal situations or adventures.

I've had my Base Camp duffle for years and finally the backpack straps started to get packed out and uncomfortable. I decided to upgrade to a new bag and was ecstatic to see the Voyager as a new option. I really enjoy the additional pockets, as well as the addition of the adjustable divider within the largest compartment. I also like the new color options.

The only thing I don't like about it is there are no elasticized pockets on the side for water bottles, but I guess you can't have everything

Purchased 2. well designed and clever reversible bag turns into its own pouch. But a little heavier than ideal in an age of limited airline bag weights

Bought this a year ago. Used as carry on to bring back delicate items and as an auxiliary bag. Handles 90% of travel scenarios very well. Go for a bigger size if your laptop is bigger than an air.

This would be 5 stars except that when walking longer distances (e.g. through the airport) with a fully packed bag as a backpack I got uncomfortable, my shoulders were not happy- the straps don't distribute the weight super well. Otherwise I love this bag! The compartmentalization is perfect: not too many pockets, just the right amount.

This is a great bag for travel. We now have two of these in the 42L size and they are fantastic for our travel needs. I use it as my carry on and can pack a full week of clothes in it (probably more if I wanted to). As it also has the backpack feature, leaves your hands free for travel. Highly recommend.

Just wish the laptop sleeve was a little bigger and there was a convenient way to store the carry handles
