Unfortunately, these shoes did not live up to my expectations of this brand. I will start by saying the shoe did have a comfortable sole. The length felt true to size, there was great arch support, and the cushiony sole felt really nice. While the sole felt great on my foot, that was sadly the only part of the shoe that fit well for me. The mesh-like body which looked cool and felt durable was much too wide for my foot. While I do run on the narrower side and being that this is a unisex shoe and I am female, I understood the available roominess (to be clear the sole itself did not feel wide- JUST the mesh body). What I did not understand was how the design was so flawed that tightening the shoelace completely deformed the look of the shoe. I mean tightening pretty much anywhere beyond how the shoe was shipped made the shoe appear folded or deformed due to the single-piece body structure. Moving on to actually getting the shoe on, the ankle sock-like neck of the shoe was incredibly snug- so much so it was a pain to get the damn shoe on, and after a while of trying them on I realized it would be way too uncomfortable to wear for a long run. Another questionable annoyance was the fact that there was no heel tab to help pull your foot into the shoes! Very frustrating and disappointing shoe in my opinion. While I have never worn one of their S/Lab models before, I have worn Salomons trail running and hiking shoes for years and have not run into an issue like this before. It was surprising that I had to give one of their higher-end models such a low rating. Huge miss.
