These are the only boots I buy for hiking. Held off for years because of the cost, but had at least one foot or ankle injury every year with less expensive boots. Almost everyone I hike with wears Solomon boots because of the gripping soles and ankle support.

I have narrow feet for a guy (men's 7 C width) so it feels nearly impossible to find hiking boots that fit well. The Salomon Quest 4 GTX boots in a women's 7.5 (European 39 1/3) are a perfect fit for me! Beyond fit, these boots are nearly perfect. Waterproof, comfortable, good traction under wet/muddy/icy conditions, lightweight and comfortable. Good cushion under the foot to absorb the shock...especially on long hikes under a ruck. The only drawback of these boots is also a positive; the sole is soft enough to give good traction on wet rocks but this means they wear down after a year of use. I need to buy a new pair every year. Bonus thought: Thank you Salomon for making these boots in ladies sizes that fit, BUT ALSO is neutral colours like grey, so a guy like me doesn't have to go hiking in pretty boots! :)

I bought these a month ago before I moved out to Oregon, I have had other brands, but really wanted something with higher support. These have been perfect. I can't recommend them fast enough.

Cool boots, all my friends who are familiar with hiking, everyone has these boots, though men. The women's ones are a little different for me. That's why they are female. I want to buy myself the same shoes again and again. Thank you for such cool boots!

I've been buying these for 7 years and although the model has changed a little since the first pair I bought, these boots are the best fitting boots I've ever owned. I have super wide feet, and nothing else compares. The water proofing doesn't seem to last too long, but overall, the support and fit have been perfect for me.

I love th that there is a walking boot for women that is both stylish and practical. The laces are secure, they are waterproof. I walk between 5 and 10k everyday in them and I haven't felt any discomfort.

Bought this boot after researching online articles and reviews extensively for women's highest rated mountaineering/hiking boots. I'm going to use these for my Kilimanjaro summit trip this summer.Based on reviews I bought my normal athletic shoe size (USA-8M). My foot is narrow at the heel and these boots fit perfectly out of the box. I can loosen or tighten to customize my support when & where needed. Tested them on dirt trails in a state park: excellent support in all areas of my foot (ankle, arch, toe box, grip, weight). Tested on pavement and hard surface for a 10mi walk in Manhattan. Not a single issue with fit, durability or weight. My body was sore after a 10mi hike through Manhattan, but not my feet. The support in this boot is so solid that it feels like wearing ski boots to hold your feet/ankles in the proper orthopedic position. Therefore, my body had to acclimate being in a more correct, orthopedic foot support and gait. Which is a good thing for me. I love the color, the fit and the quality so much that my son bought his own pair in men's sizing.

From the time I finally put them on the trail, I found the following: 1. Foot comfort is perfect, and the shoe offers support and cushioning at a high level 2. Traction is solid, and this aids in climbing steep or hills in wet conditions I love the Shock-absorbing capacity.

Perfect shoes for my trekking style. The width is also wide, so I don't get tired even if I walk for a long time.

They need a bit of breaking in but I'm appreciating the stiffer shank, less girlie colours and new materials. I bought my first pair in 2005! They've lasted that long!

I purchased the boots as a gift for my granddaughter. When I last spoke with her, she hadn't worn them because of our inclement weather. But I can say that she was DELIGHTED when she opened the box!! I don't believe she thought she would actually receive them, inspite of her earlier pleas for them.

Love these! They fit perfect and as far as hiking boots are concerned they aren't as heavy and clunky as other hiking boots. Hiked in mud and snow and stayed dry, good traction, and easy to wash off. Didn't stain like some other shoes. Used on a few hikes but can't wait to use backpacking!

Most of the time when out on the trails I prefer to wear a low breathable trail runner. When I do need some hefty to handle some off trail hiking with a bit more gear this boot is now my go to. It has enough lateral stiffness so that I'm not twisting ankles but is still light enough that I don't feel like I'm wearing a cement block on my feet. The toe box is very accommodating and wider than most other salomons I have worn. Highly recommended by this guy right here!

I don't understand the low reviews... granted, I don't backpack, but I LOVE these boots for the following reasons: runs a bit wide which is perfect for my large feet and cankles; great thread and waterproof, I have been using them on snowy hikes and stay dry and warm; super comfortable and, because they are wide, I can wear thick socks and still the boots don't feel tight; I love the high boot because it helps my weak ankles stay stable. Soooo, all that to say that I highly recommend these boots!

Got these just in time for winter hiking, and they have more than lived up to expectations. Grippy on ice and snow, but also lightweight so you don't feel like you're being bogged down by a heavy hiking boot. I have wider feet too, and these fit very comfortably, with plenty of room for double layered socks and everything. Highly recommend these bad boys for any type of terrain.

This is my first pair of Quest 4. I have been wearing them around that beautiful Pacific Northwest during the rainy weather on trails and they have kept my feet overall dry and warm. I appreciate the arch support and high ankle support. The ankle is much higher than I am used to, but it's very functional. Haven't taken them out backpacking yet, but it's a solid shoe with a a lot of stability.

Comfortable straight out of the box with no break in period these are my new favorite boots. They keep me dry and warm in the snow and are strong, stable and sturdy for long days in snowshoes, on ice, in mud and everything in between.

I have a lot to say about these as they have been my go to backpacking boots for years! My original pair was my absolute favorite and lasted many tough miles, I'm not sure the newer versions are quite as durable. However, even for the robust nature of these boots, they are lightweight and take minimal time to break in! Great for 10+ mile days and rocky terrain. Highly recommend!

This boot is made for big adventure days. Tons of room for thick socks, solid soles for icy and snowy ascents, and extremely warm. I used thin wool socks and had way too much room, I'd go half a size down if you like a tighter fit. Also, I have thin ankles so a smaller size would be the perfect fit. These kept me warm and dry in high alpine conditions all day!

Have been long distance hiking/peak bagging and backpacking for 11 years. The Quest fulfills my need to support my skinny ankles and I love how it's built to withstand all kinds of rugged terrain while keeping my feet comfy and secure. I have been buying Quests through the years...some still in great condition even after having put in several miles. I just love these boots!

Bought these boots 3 days before leaving for a trip to Kauai. Hiked the entire Kalalau trail (11miles one way) without breaking them in at all before the hike. My feet were so comfortable the entire time. My feet were still healing some blisters after a previous hike with my old boots and the blisters never got worse just continued to heal. I am more than impressed with these boots. I will only ever wear them from now on.

I've had these hiking boots for about a year and they are by far the best pair of boots I've owned. They hold up very well well in super muddy, rainy and snowy conditions. They fit incredibly well, I like the bit of room in the toe area. I love that they are so supportive and lightweight! I wish Salomon would make a pair of insulated hiking boots based on this boot! Would totally get them for winter adventures!

I wish I could modify my former review when I ordered my usual 7.5 and they were too big for my low volume foot. Now that I have the size 7 I am extremely happy. They are so comfortable. I love the tread, lacing system, materials and fit. My wide toes fit comfortably but the heel is narrow enough to keep my heel down. I wish these were offered in black in women's sizes.
