Bought these shoes and in FOUR DAYS the seams were starting to split. FOUR DAYS!!! This was my first pair of hiking shoes and I was excited because I had heard so many great things about Salomon. Really disappointed to spend so much on a shoe for it to fall apart in less than a week.

I purchased this pair of shoes as I work in some of the harshest terrain around the world. From the tundra in the arctic to the desert in Austrilia I depend on the Salomon brand for support of my feet to the gore tex to keep them dry. The last job I wore them was in a swampy muddy area in Northern Canada in a camp. I forgot my muck boots and these shoes kept my feet dry all day walking in mud. Hands down an awesome shoe and I still have them and continue to wear them after a good wash they look like new.

I'm an infantry vet and as such have lots of problems with my feet and can be picky about what I wear. These are hands down the best shoe I've ever bought. The amount of pain relief from this shoe compared to me last is astounding to me. I actually bought a second pair because of how well they fit and how far I can walk in them with zero pain or issues with my heel or ankles. Thank you Salomon for making such a fantastic product!

This is my fourth pair of Solomans. So comfortable, long-wearing stay looking new.

Full disclosure, this is my second pair of the X Ultra 4's. The first pair was put through the ringer over several years and I finally wore out the sole. The first pair was amazing and I loved everything about it, so when it came time to replace it I didn't hesitate to buy the same pair again! I use this as my everyday/weekend shoe. It has gone to breweries, camping, hiking, dog walks, kayaking, and even some light jogging. Anything I throw at it, it just keeps asking for more.

Great shoe for hiking and day-to-day wear. Haven't had them for long, but I've been enjoying them so far!

While looking to buy these, I read some negative reviews that made me a bit hesitant...be sure to size up, not durable, they are ugly, the free floating tongue makes me mad, the lacing system is bad....I did see one guy whos eylet broke out, but Salomon covers that in their warranty so just send em back.... I have a pair of Salomon real deal hiking boots, which are impractical to wear to the office or around town, so unless I am hunting or on the trail I don't wear them. So I got these because I love the durability and the support that Salomon provides, I can step into the office or the woods with these and be perfectly fine. I have wide feet and these run true to size, so people who say order a size up, you might not know what your actual shoe size is. Patagonia stuff runs small, these do not, I ordered a half size larger simply because when I do take these to the mountains, my feet will swell and Ill have heavier socks on, but its not because they don't run true to size. These are great shoes in my opinion and I have thousands of miles under my feet all around the country that can verify I know a good shoe when I walk in it. These are great, if you're not a nitpicky baby about stuff, you won't be disappointed.

I like it. I use as everyday shoes (4 seasons) and it last for 1 year. This is my second pair and will use a third one for this year.

Have been wearing these for about a month. Break-in period was easy, and so far the overall fit, comfort and performance has been great. My hope is that they wear as well and last as long as the 3-year old prior Salomon's they are replacing.

I bought these 1 month ago (my first pair of Salomon's) and have been impressed by how comfortable they are. I will definitely be buying more!

I don't buy shoes often, so when I do, I look around...a lot. Had Salomon trail runners before, and they stood the test of time. These new ones check every box for me (see review title). And at a great price! Haven't had them on a challenging trail yet, but breaking them in around town, with great confidence that at least my shoes are up to the challenge

Good treads for ice and snow covered roads and sidewalks

Shoe is great and doesn't run narrow like the other models I have.

I love my new shoes and this particular style. Will be buying others in the future.
