It is not easy to find relatively “cute” athletic shoes when you have long feet. I need arch support to top it off. So far Altra shoes have been the best fit for me. I’ve tried others and I keep coming back to them.

I've been wearing Asics but they're just not cutting it anymore. My feet were so sore at work I nearly chanted ouch out loud with each step. I'm a size 12 now due to fallen arches but still neutral, no pronation issues. Womens regular width are too tight on my toes & wide width is somehow too big but still squish my toes? I end up buying mens regular which work better, not perfect, and are not available in feminine colors. The reviews on these sounded good & they did not disappoint. My feet felt soooo much better the 1st day & after 2 work days I could do my morning workout again. They're not weird looking as you might think from the pictures. Brook's Ghost is a 5 star shoe as well. I tried a pair of Hoka's but the fit was so uncomfortable I returned them. This is my 1st pair of Altra's & I'm already deciding which pair to try next.

Love Altra and the wide toe box. My 2nd pair and still not disappointed.

The advice was to buy 1/2 size larger than my usual size. When I did this, my shoes fit well. I really appreciate how the design of the shoe allows for room in the toe area. These shoes are very comfortable for everyday life and the moderate walking that I do.

I have been wearing Altra for a long time, have tried 4 different models, Superior, Intuition, Lone Pine and now Provision, and every one is wonderful. Big toe box, zero drop foot bed, just perfectly comfy in every way. Can't go wrong with Altra!

Love these shoes. They felt good as soon as I put them on, no break in period needed.

I first fell in love with Altra’s when I tries a pair of Altra’s 3.0’s. They were the first pair of running shoes that I truly loved. I was not a fan of the next two versions and switched to the Paradigm 4.5’s. I recently needed to replace my paradigms & hated the 5.0’s. I knew I did t like the provision 4.0’s & because I need some stability, I had to look at other brands. I’ve been searching for months for the right pair of shoes for me, so I jumped on ordering the new provisions. I tried them on my run today & I am in LOVE. This is the Altra that I fell in love with, but better! The shoe hugs my foot in just the right way, the sole is flexible, the cushion is comfortable without being marshmallow-like & it provides just the right amount of support. My one complaint is that I wish the laces were just a bit longer to make double knitting easier.

Great style and color but slightly too short.

I've been wearing Provisions for years. This model is excellent in most respects, but there is always room for improvement: The shoes are loose in the heel. The laces are very short — when using the heel-tightening lacing technique there's barely enough lace left to tie a tiny bow. Arch support is inadequate for me, but my orthotic fits nicely in the shoe.

For comparison, I wear a 6.5 narrow in SAS. Because I wear socks with athletic shoes, I ordered a 7.5. They fit well until I walked a bit and my foot settled in, then they were too short by 1/4 inch or more. I'll try an 8. I found I didn't need my usual insoles (happy feet) with these shoes, the support was good. I like the concept of the roomy toe area, I hope the 8 works. Only complaint was the tongue, even with lacing though the loop, moved to the side and isn't very wide. I bought these for walking, not running. They are rated as having the cushiest sole of the Altra line and they are soft to walk on.
