These shoes were comfortable the first time I wore them. I bought them ahead of a trip and thought I would need to break them in, not necessary. Love them.

Mid top bothered my ankle bone. Need either a low or high top.

They are really nice shoes except my foot is just a tad too wide for them. Anyone with a foot size that meets their specs, I would recommend these shoes.

These are good shoes for the price. They didn't work because of my feet issues and returning them. They are a little stiff, but that may relax with wear

Super comfortable!

Almost every pair of shoes I own is 9.5 W, and since I assumed that hiking boots would allow for socks on top of your regular size, I ordered 9.5 W. Unfortunately, even with thin dress socks, these boots were uncomfortably tight, to the point I didn’t even bother to lace them up. You definitely need to order a larger width than your regular size, especially if you’re planning on wearing heavy socks. So much for finding my first pair of hiking boots.

Great looking and nice quality, but I need great arch support. Even with my own inserts, arch support wasn't good enough. Sad to have to turn them back in.

I ordered a 7 wide, and I found these shoes too narrow to wear socks with. (For reference, I usually wear a 6.5, and my foot, at its widest, is 3.75 inches). The first time I wore them, I experimented wearing them for a few hours at a local theme park and found they supported my feet well, had solid ankle support, and my back didn't hurt like it normally does. So I took them with me to the UK, where I hiked and walked around everywhere. The temperatures were in the low 50 to high 60 degrees Fahrenheit, and my feet got hot! Towards the end of the wa;ls/hikes, my feet would be tired and my legs (things and calves) would be sore - which I acknowledge could be because of my (lack of) physical fitness or the weight of the shoe itself, but most importantly: my lower back never hurt, which is always a problem for me. So I dealt with the hot feet if it meant my back was ok! I won't wear these around as an everyday shoe, but if I am going to be doing a lot of walking, I'll pull these out again.

Good shoe, light weight and true to size. Well-priced too compared to other brands that we tried.

I'm glad I read the reviews and sized up a half-size. The size 9s fit well. My only complaint is where my left foot bends at the toe, the shoe presses down on the joint and my big toe hurts/falls asleep. Sadly, I can't know this until I've walked some distance in them and can't return them. I'm playing with how it is laced to see if I can take some of the pressure off.

These were very narrow

I need a wider box. Also, the part that attaches to the tongue seems to have cardboard in it that needs to be folded in order to prevent rubbing...wasn't confident it would las that long. I have a high arch and felt no support.

I actually wear a 5 1/2 2E, a very hard size to find, and was hoping these would be wide enough given a little extra length, but they were not.

The sides rub my ankles. These are not comfortable to wear in the house and would not be suitable for hiking. Returning the boots.

Unfortunately these felt too small and narrow for me. It was too bad because they looked pretty cute—for hiking boots. I sent them back, but Zappos return process was flawless.

Alas, great looking, well-made boots, but even tho 6.5 W is my normal size, these were way too small.

I couldn't even get it on because the tongue attached to the shoe came to a point and was so stiff and painful, I couldn't slide my foot in!

waterproof!!!!

My daughter loved the shoe. She normally wears a size 7, so with regular thin cotton socks this shoe in a size 7 fit. However, when she tried it on with some lightweight hiking socks (synthetic/wool) she said they felt a little tight around the toe and top of foot. Fortunately we ordered size 7.5 and that felt great with the hiking socks. I'd recommend sizing up .5 size if you plan on wearing hiking socks. Haven't tried the shoe out on a hike yet, but initial impression, she says they are comfortable.
