After a few 2 mile walks I realized the were causing an old ankle injury to flare up. Really disappointed, especially since my Moab hiking boots are still my favorite, so I had high hopes for these.

Great marketing fancy words, color variety etc... But when it comes to their performance on the trail: 1) After 200 miles, my shoes are losing chunks of rubber. Probably, unable to withstand the extreme hard rocky conditions of the PCT. I am worried this shoes will not last the 500 average miles they should last. 2) Not sure if my shoes have the rock plate, because from day 1, I am feeling everything I step on. Right now, all I want from my shoes is my 500 miles. At this point, I don't find it in me that I will

Having bought two pairs of Merrell Forestbound and loved them, I thought that I'd try a different shoe. I bought the same size as the other Merrell shoes but the Moab Speed shoes crush my toes walking downhill. Other than pain after 30 minutes, they look and feel fine. Disappointed.

The width was way to tight, They were so tight the skin on the bottom of my foot started to fold.

I've had this shoe for a while. I love the material and quality but it fits wrong. Works fine for day to day use but on steep terrain my heel wants to pop out and I can't tie them any tighter. I ended up going with the moab speed mid a year later for more support and they fit better as well. I can tighten them up nice and snug.

Third time taking these out, the outer mesh came loose at the stitching around the ankle. The tread doesn't even show wear on it yet. I'm extremely disappointed given the price and expected quality.

Ordered these and tested them out on a 6 mile day hike. The first time I tightened the laces, one of the loops broke which is already a red flag. Then about halfway though the hike the shoes became very uncomfortable, the toe box and shoe overall are very narrow, and I don't usually get a wide fit. I would have been willing to try a wider fit but unfortunately they don't make it in this style. Not a great shoe for the price point.

This is a hiking boot, not a trail running shoe (unless running in stiff boots is your thing). As such this should NOT appear on the list when you click on MENS/TRAIL RUNNING image link. Really disappointed with this one and I am lifelong Merrell's fan, hell I don't think I own or wear anythign but Merrell! Bring back Skyfire model.

I am 56 and bought these as daily walking shoes. Only 3 months later the top of the shoe is cracking and the soul at the heal is falling off. Of course I don't have my bill thinking I would get at least 12 months use....now I need to find some shoe glue

I have 3 pairs, ordered online. 2 pairs are completely different sizes and have very different 'feel' to them. I have stopped buying Marrells now because of their poor quality control and inconsistent manufacturing processes.

Bottom line: Extremely comfortable. Fine for general walking around or if you spend a lot of time on your feet. But NOT for any terrain that has inclines and declines. My CV: I have 14 pair of Merrell's in my closet - everything from scandals, moc's, various casuals, 4 pair of Moab's Ventilators, 1 pair of Moab FST, and these new Moab Speeds. (Mind you, I've been a Merrell fan for decades). My main cardio these days is walking the residential hill streets near my home three days a week. The Moab FST (a 'real' Moab but with a more streamlined sole) worked well, but Merrell unfortunately stopped making them. As a replacement for the FST, I've been wearing the MQM Flex 2, and I've been very happy with them. But I turned to the Moab's again with the introduction of the Speed model thinking they would give me a bit more stiffness in the sole than the MQM's. The Vibram sole is fine the problem is with the TPU uppers. They simple do not hold my foot in place when under the stress of going uphill and especially when going downhill. Have you every developed blisters on the TOP of your toes?? The flex in the TPU uppers simply allows the foot to slide forward to the toe box when walking downhill. These are in no way a hiking shoe. This shoe devalues the Moab brand. So, it's back to the MQMs for me. Rant: TPU stands for thermoplastic polyurethane. It is a fabric-like cross between rubber and plastic. I'm sure it is a more cost-effective material for manufacturers to make 'fast fashion' footwear. In this instance it is nowhere near comparable to the leather/mesh uppers of the traditional Moab. Since the cost is close to the same as the traditional Moab, it's Merrell '1' and consumer '0'.

Bought these in May and while they are very comfortable, the gray part of the sole separated from the shoe today. Not the normal quality especially after relatively light wear

I find the footbed soft, doesn't give me a good sense of the surface I'm walking on, at worst it's unstable. The shoe initially feels comfortable. Not a lot of section in size 14 when shop but wish I did not purchase these.

The first pair I bought the sole started de-laminating after two weeks. Got a replacement pair and after three weeks it looks like it may be starting again. This shoe is extremely comfortable! It is lightweight like an athletic shoe but gives me the support I want. It has been addressed elsewhere but Merrell needs wide widths. I had to go a half size bigger to get the fit I wanted. I sense an issue with the sole glue and rated accordingly. Gdet that issue fixed and this shoe gets top marks all around.

I have been buying Merrells for years now mainly because I always knew they would fit perfectly. I always order a size 10 but this is the first time a 10 seems more like a 10 1/4. No matter what kind of lacing I do my heel lifts on both shoes. I also measured them up against many other Merrell 10's and the Moab Speed is definitely bigger than all of them. They seem very comfortable under foot but they are simply too big. Why would Merrell go and change their sizing after all this time making great size 10's??

I bought 2 pair of the Moab Speed shoes. They fit well and are super comfortable, honestly they would be my favorite shoe of all time if they held up. They both fell apart way too quickly compared to my other Merrell's. My podiatrist recommended Merrell's years ago and I buy several a year. I had other Moab's I was wearing so I didn't get to use these until 6 months after I bought them so Merrell wouldn't warranty them even though the pics I sent they agreed looked defective. Great shoe, poor reliability.
