These shoes would have been a lot better, if they were just a little more comfortable. I could have gotten past some of the comfort issues, the biggest problem to me was at the bottom where the shoelace is looped into, the piece has two metal type fasteners, so it is not a smooth fit. The metal piece makes a bulge inside of the shoe that presses up against the top of your big toe where it connects to the rest of the foot, by the end of the day the your foot above that toe becomes very sore. I did enjoy the look. I have owned many Adidas Terrex shoes, and this was the first time I was not happy with them. I did exchange for a different model of Terrex, that doesn't have the metal in the lacing.

Overall fit was fine, but otherwise they are way too stiff, bulky, and extremely clunky. Think old man white Newbalance.

I’ve been buying different variations of this same adidas outdoor goretex shoe for years. These aren’t cheap shoes by any means but if you spend your day outside then they are well worth it. My feet are always dry, they never sweat and stay dry when it rains. I usually get 6 months out of them and then I get a new pair. They are still good but I get sick of wearing the same shoes every day. Even though I’m walking roofs, crawling attics, climbing ladders, and putting lots of miles on them I wouldn’t recommend them for long distance running. They are a little on the heavy side for that! If your outside for long periods of time then these are a really good shoe.

I've been ordering some version of Adidas Terrex trail shoes for years. I've ordered multiple pairs before because styles are discontinued pretty quickly. I wear them mostly as work shoes. They are comfortable & sturdy + the Adidas design & style game is strong. I also wear them when I walk. These were a bit stiff out of the box but broke in quickly-within a day or so. They typically last me at least 8-10 months +. I'm not putting many miles per day on them. Others may be better suited to comment on their longevity where actual hiking is concerned... I do add my own insoles bc I have pretty high arches. Overall, great shoes. I'll keep them on my list.
I'd also recommend:
Columbia, North Face, Nike, Hoka

Comfort: Right out of the box, these shoes felt incredibly comfortable. Fit: The fit is true to size. Performance: My husband has taken these shoes on several trail runs and paved paths, and they perform well on both surfaces. Durability: After a year of regular use, there are no signs of wear and tear.

The swift r2 was more comfortable but these have still been great. I wear them for at least 8 hours a day on concrete and in extreme heat. 130 + ferinheit. looking for the free hiker 2.0 to replace these. I've been wearing these in extreme conditions for 3 months now. Shoes rarely last this long for me. Still waterproof as well.

Best traction on off-road trails. Best support for foot. Protection from rock strikes. good climbing ability near summits. Gortex excludes foxtails and other weeds. Best all-around (but a little heavy) off road shoe/boot.
