I use this piece for mild, mixed forecast cast days with just a chance of a drizzle where warm insulation or a hard shell are not needed. Usually I wear it over a Delta LT and it still surprises me how well this combo breathes. I don't have to peal off the LT shell for short indoor errands. The slightly sturdy fabric (compared to the floppy MX), trim cut and stretch gives it a nice sleek, sharp look and fit. I think this soft shell is underrated and overlooked.

Very versatile, breathable, and stretch. I've been using as a soft shell over less durable items when mountain biking and hiking. It takes hits from tree branches and hard brushes with rock walls without issue. The fits is great for layering or with just a base layer.

Bought this piece after it got recommended to me by a friend that preferred that SL over the LT. As a big fan of the LT, I had to try it out and overall loved this jacket as well. I find it to have to perfect amount of insulation when it is cool but you'll be kind of active and on the move. Having no insulation in the sleeves is a huge game changer and does help to not overheat. The insulation in the torso and the fleece panel on the side helps regulate heat pretty well without having to zip down. The face fabric is as exceptional as any other atom, have not had any issues with it. Find it to be perfect as a casual piece as well, specially on cool summer nights. Overall, like my friend, I greatly recommend this jacket.

Great jacket for almost everything. Breathable, durable, wind resistant and not too hot for high output activity.

I bought this jacket to go between a light windshell like the Squamish hoody and a heavier insulated jacket like the Atom Lt. I have been very happy with the performance of this piece. It has just the right amount of insulation for cool days and breathes very well if you are moving. I have done a few long approaches in it this fall. It has been the perfect layer for crisp morning starts where you want a warm layer but don't want to over heat while you are moving. The fit and ability to move in it is amazing. Climbing in it is a joy, again just a bit warmer than a stand alone windshell and stretchy enough to not be uncomfortable will climbing. It has also been great for casual evening walks this fall.

Love, love, love my new jacket. Got it in September as another level of jacket to wear curling this season. I have a slightly heavier weight one to wear when I skip, but when I sweep I need something a little lighter. This fits the bill and despite my somewhat COVID shaped body it looks so nice, both colour (Ellipse) and fit (I'm a Large in all my Arceryx tops). I have Arcteryx sweaters, shirts, pants and jackets that all look as good as the day I bought them. In all the products I have purchased only one ever failed due to wear and that was replaced. Love this brand.

I have 2 of these jackets because when I had just one, I kept wearing it long last the time it needed to be washed because i didn't want to be without it. It is my go-to cool weather jacket for hiking and mtn biking. It has replaced a fleece, because I appreciate the windbreaker qualities. The light insulation is perfect. And I really appreciate the lack of bulk and perfect trim fit. Nothing extra.

Love this jacket. Lightweight but keeps you warm. Good in the rain, great hood. Folds away into the hood so easy to store or carry. Looks good too.

I bought this jacket a few months ago for ourdoors activities and it did not dissapoint. It is comfortable and stylish, light weight but warm and cozy, with a streamlined fit for maximum movement, and longer length in the back.

This jacket is perfect. I love how the fabrics stretch to allow a full range of movement without waist climb. The length is great as well, once cinched it locks out the flow of cold air. The fabric around the cuff feels incredible and doesn't hinder any tasks. I got the arbor green color and it's fantastic!

Bought this in the springtime and have worn it several times a week since. It's perfect for spring, late summer nights and even brisk fall days. Fits perfect and is fairly water repellent.

I bought my 3rd version of this not long ago, and it continues to hold up great as a stand-alone on some now mid-40s to mid-50s days/nights, sometimes wet too. Also a solid mid-layer, good wind and light rain protection.

I've had this jacket for about a year now and use it extensively during the fall and winter in Washington. It had held up great and despite frequent use both to work and out on trails it still looks brand new. The material is tough and has handled brush and 60 lbs packs with no evidence of wear. It's a little thick for the summer months but is the perfect fall /early spring jacket, or winter backcountry skiing or climbing.

I love the fit. Great to be worn from Spring to Fall. Will happily layer over just a tee or a couple of layers. I literally live in it when out and about. Obviously won't handle serious cold (under 40) for extended periods of time unless you are on the move. I wear it for hiking and day to day trips around town. Will easily layer with a more serious waterproof too. Love it.

Absolutely Flawless! I have the cobalt moon (navy) color and its my favorite hoody that I own. Better quality than my Stone Island softshell and I've gotten so many compliments on it. I also own the black jacket version without the hood.
I'm 5'9" and 140 lbs, slim build. I'm a medium in most brands but SMALL in arcteryx. The pit to pit and sleeves are a tiny bit big and since I like a slim fit so I got a small. Does NOT shrink at all.

This is THE softshell. It's no surprise the Gamma LT Hoody has won so many accolades and awards. It is superbly designed with rugged, top-shelf materials, and for me fits perfectly. The fit reminds me more of their LEAF products; I'm 173 mm but pretty solid at 83 kg and the large is superb. I can wear it on it's own but there's ample room for layering, and LOVE the earthy colour. So "THE" soft-shell, yes; however, now looking at the MX (on sale at their Outlet) as my winter trail-running piece with lighter laying than the LT would need.

I bought this item before going out to Colorado for the summer and have nothing but positive things to say about it. I tend to run very warm (especially while moving) and finally found a jacket I can when hiking/scrambling at high altitudes. No more reaching for a light puffy that I know will make me sweat the moment I put it on, no more grunting it out by moving too fast to stay warm. I'm pleased to say I used this item climbing Maroon Bells, Castle, and La Plata and felt perfectly fine the whole time. Additionally, it also works perfectly for cool summer nights in the low 50s, and it's so light I pretty much always forget I'm wearing it!

I've had this jacket for one summer so far. It's a perfect all arounder for me! It feels like a soft comfy long sleeve although it's technically a jacket. In the summer temps it's perfect and i've found that It's actually a really good jacket for biking and hiking! I can fit it under another down later on cold nights and it doesn't feel like you are wearing too much.
I enjoy taking this as a business jacket during travel and on airplanes as it's very versatile and keeps me from overheating or getting cold inside.

This lightweight jacket was exactly what I was looking for. Arcteryx products scare me because they are mostly designed for very tall, very slim women. I'm neither...average height, fairly curvy...but very active. In most clothing, I'm a solid size large or 12-14, depending on the garment. The XL in this jacket fits well, though I could use a bit more room in the hips.
What makes this so near perfect is that I wear it for almost everything. Hiking, biking, walking, casual. I've even worn it snowshoeing on a sunny 40 degree day with a midnight base layer. It breathes well, has side stretch panels, adequately blocks wind and offers just a bit of insulation in the core for those times when I need a bit of a warm up, but not too much that I can't wear it on a summer evening when the sun goes down. The sleeve are a bit long, except when I'm biking, but not at all cumbersome. I simply fold the over once.
I do wish I could pack this into one of the pockets and zip it closed for easier packability. A bit more width in the cut would be appreciated, and I wish Arteryx would consider offering regular or even relaxed cuts in their best-selling garments. Not all active women are shaped like a trekking pole.
Otherwise, great purchase. No regrets despite the stiff price tag. I've had it for nearly a year and still appears new.
