Bought an SL for travel to Argentina and Uruguay for three months. Worst piece in my kit the SL was daily go-to under a 3-layer Gore shell. I froze in Uruguay with its high humidity cold nights and days. When it drizzled it wetted out in couple minutes. But to its credit did not wet through. My daughter has used her Atom jacket and lives in it. I thought this piece would be the perfect insulation layer. After South America trip, I won't even bring it along into the SoCal desert. This SL is too narrow temp range and wind resistance fails in a breeze. It contributes to the $700 clothing budget above the waist design brief holy grail. Go for it you have the moula and baggage. I travel too light. This piece doesn't earn its way into my bag.

Great jacket, but terribly poor fabric. The jacket fabric cannot withstand external wear and tear. This is not a sustainable product.

Material failed after 14 mothers of moderate use Arc'teryx refused to warranty their product. We own many of Arc'teryx's products but will never purchase again.

I own 5 Arcteryx jackets and all are top-notch quality. However, this one is disappointing and extremely poorly made. I exchanged one, but the same deal, so I think it is the manufacturer general problem. Share some pictures. If you are expecting good quality, I would not recommend it, but if you can live with it, good design jacket.

After using this piece for some time actually consider this Jacket more of a windbreaker than an insulation piece (insulation effect is pretty non existent). Very inbalanced protection levels of main body material vs fleece inserts: pretty standart main material vs uber breathable fleece. Also fleece inserts run from wrist all the way down to the waist. So even a light cold breathe runs all the way through it to the arms (full length) and torso, and it acts more like a vest. In cold weather this requares long sleeves shirt underneath. At the very same time and conditions the main material breathability is not enough to make you to not generate the sweat on shoulders, chest and back ... plus torso insulation!? So, it is OK only if you active and it is really (really) cold + zero wind. For all the other conditions its weight is not worth its functionality&versatility. IMHO no fleece on sleeves will make it more versatile. There are a lot of more versatile jackets on the market for the half of the AtomSL-price (like Rab Borealis (when it's warm) or Marmot Ether Dri-Clime (when it's cold), etc.) Very disappointed.
