I bought theses shoes to keep my feet dry and for traction on snowy slushy roads! So far they're performing great!
I can't wait for the snow to melt a little so I can try them out in trails.

I put 20 miles of muddy trail running on these shoes in the first 4 days of owning them and am very pleased with my purchase. I have Speedgoat 2 and 3, Clifton 6 in regular and wide (I like the fit of the wide better), and Sky Kaha boots, so I definitely like the fit and cushion of Hoka. The Challenger has a wider toe box than the Speedgoat, which is welcome. It obviously isn't as cushioned or grippy as the Speedgoat, but I like the more responsive ride on harder surfaces. I heard the Challenger referred to as "the Clifton of the trails". I would say the Clifton has a softer ride, but the Challenger is not harsh and works very well on every surface I have run on. Living in northern Ohio, our trails are snowy, slushy, muddy for several months. In 3 trail runs of 3 to 7.5 miles, these have kept my feet nice and dry. I don't mind wet feet too much, but it so much nicer to be dry.

Every pair of Hokas I have purchased (currently 5) has fit perfectly right out of the box. I'm excited about my new Challenger ATR 6 Gore-Tex shoes because I live in a wet climate and look forward to returning home from my rainy-day walks with dry feet.

These running shoe are the best ever. I wish I bought them when I was serving in the military days. But anyhow I'm loving it they keep my feet dry when I'm running in large puddle of water

I got these shoes because I wanted something that I can use on a winter bike path that is maintained, but still gets snow and ice. Because it is a mix of snow, pavement, and some icy spots, I wanted something goretex to keep from getting wet (and cold), and that offered better traction than my usual Cliftons, but not overkill. These delivered on all fronts and are absolutely perfect. Great all around Goretex shoe!

These are my weekend trail shoes for the winter. The GTX keep my feet dry and warm. I use them on 6 to 13 mile runs on dirt, mud, snow, and occasionally on the road. So far I have nothing negative to say about them. Have fun out there!

Use this shoe for everyday purposes, running and even at my job so they tend to get beat up. They are looking brand new after 3 weeks and are finally broken in and feel like another extension of my body and leaves me hating the end of the day when I kick them off!

Only got them few days back, they are so comfortable!! Completely recommended. I had the challenger 5 and the 6 is a huge improvement over that one.
I would suggest going half a size up
