More cushioned than my previous Brooks Ghost 12's which gave me tired legs and knee pain anything >10 miles. Much more responsive than my Asics Nimbus 22 (which felt like slow marshmallows). These have the cushioning for my long runs (10-13 miles) which leave my legs feeling nice, but also have some zip when I am running shorter fast runs. When I bought these shoes I was running 2-3 miles, 2-3 times a week. I honestly attribute my motivation to run to the comfort and speed these shoes gave me. These shoes are still a perfect shoe for my current training ~25-30 miles per week.
I have 250 miles on my current pair and have seen quite a bit of wear on the outsole and I expect to get another 50 miles before I replace them. The foam feels great still.

Super cool looking. I personally do not like Hoka other models as they look too bulky, though I know they are comfortable. Mach 4 looks slim on me:) I do need stability for my low arch so I removed the original insole and replace with Dr. Scholl’s insole. Just perfectly.

No offense to my Clifton 8s that I truly like, but are a little too squishy and actually tire me out more on long runs because my feet sink in too much (I'm pretty light at 140), but this shoe is perfection. I added a superfeet insoles to my Cliftons to offset the sinking feeling as a matter of personal preference, which actually created something similar to the Mach. However, on top of being a perfect balance of firm and soft, these Mach's have another gear and provide some snap for speed runs and help keep me moving on long runs. I feel really nimble and light footed in these even as I start to slog during the late parts of a long run. I really can't wait to run my half and full marathons in these. I loved these much I just sold my barely used Nike Pegasus 38s which were giving me some knee trouble the few times I took them out. I hope the Next version of Machs keeps the same formula.

I have purchased about 10 pairs of Hoka's over the years and have been completely satisfied with all except for one pair.They started to split on the side and the warranty was out.Otherwise I think it's the best shoe out there.

Light, comfortable, and rewarding to run in. Almost 400 miles on this pair since December. I intend to keep buying this shoe (or Mach 5) over and over. They're fantastic. Only suggestion would be to please make the laces a bit shorter!
