I have torn ligaments in my mid toes on my left foot. Most shoes cause me pain, even with my custom insoles. These shoes are the best I’ve worn as far as comfort and support of my injury.

The most comfortable shoe I've worn. Hands down, it is like walking on a cloud.
I'd also recommend:

My first pair of Hokas. I run about 3-5 miles per trip and these have been wonderful. They are super comfortable. I will definitely be purchasing more.

These shoes have extended the time I can walk..The stiffness of the shoe helps reduce the bending of my toes.

This is my second pair of Hoka. I use them primarily for walking pavement and dirt trails. They are very comfortable and I'm able to fit my orthos in them. Very pleased with my purchase.

First time trying the Challenge ATR. I bought the wide version and these are perfect for my feet. I am switching from Altra to Hoka from now on. The only gripe is I wish they had more colors in wide, but if you continue to make these in wide I will continue to buy whatever color is available.

Primary use is day hikes in mountains and local walking paths. Very comfortable and provide good support. Haven't used them extensively on trails but traction seems to be good. Need more time on trail to get a better opinion. I purchased the Wide (2E) version which fits perfectly. I wanted the waterproof GTX version but unfortunately HOKA only makes the GTX in 'D' width. Those were painful within a few minutes of having them on so I settled for these. I wish HOKA would make the GTX versions of their shoes available in wide widths.

Have worn Hokas in frequently over the past 10 years. I've been struggling with plantar fasciitis and a heel spur for the last year bought four more pair of Hokus it's all I wear now and I'm 90% pain-free. I do like construction and quite a bit of painting I'm up and down ladders all day and my feet feel great

Outstanding grip, light weight, hardy striking absorption and clean easily after my tail runs. Can't wait to buy another pair.

I use it for training and racing on trails with some paved sections. I can always use more traction and longer wear.

I really like this shoe for light hikes. Very comfy and grips well on the down hill. Also, breathes really well so my feet aren't too clammy.

Running was always painful and stupid before I ran in these. Cushion, support, response, dampens my heel strike.

First pair of Hokas for me. I have had knee problems and my Doctor recommended Hokas. I have worn them for about a week. They fit me perfectly and so far have been very comfortable. I use them exclusively for walking so I cannot review for other activity.

Unitl now...Nike athlete when it comes to shoes - decided to try on other styles for once. After a dozen or so tries of multiple brands I realized these were the clear winners. Why? I lift, row (Concept2), hike, bike, walk. I needed something that could handle it all. I needed stability. I needed the little tab on the back to help pull them on when I'm being lazy and just want to slide shoes on. I needed a little rubber on the back heal to stick into my erg so I don't get heel slip while rowing. I needed a solid grip but nothing Spartan Race aggressive. I needed cushy but not too cushy. I love the way these roll with your gate, kinda how Georgia boots do if you've worn those. I like the stability but they're not so rigid so they can easily work as a road runner as well as trail. These are such a great pair of overall shoes that can handle it all I think Nike will take a back seat for now. For size, same as my Nikes for me.
