Good for hiking. Colors are So are so awful I had to return them. Had a different color before just as awful. The tread comes off after about 7 months of light use.

The fit was good and very comfortable but the quality was really awful. Bought these for a hiking trip and they began to fall apart almost immediately. Really disappointed with this company. I thought it was a reputable brand but found out otherwise. Definitely not what you would expect from a pair of $139 shoes!

I have a history of rolling my ankle, and usually wear Hoka Cliftons (which I love) but in anticipation of a trip out west, I wanted something with a more grippy sole, so went with these. The first time I wore them, they caused pain in the top of my foot, so the next time I wore them I loosened the laces a little bit. We'd gone less than a mile on very flat ground when I apparently landed wrong and rolled my ankle. I ended up having to cancel my trip because these shoes are so stacked with cushion (like all Hokas) that it has kept from walking comfortably for 3 weeks now, and there was no way I could trek the National Parks in my current state. I think these are a terrible shoe for people struggling with underpronation / supination, and that it was literally the shoe itself that caused the imbalance that allowed my foot to roll. Three years of wearing Hoka's Cliftons for running and walking -- even on uneven trails, and I have not rolled my ankle once. I'm writing this review hoping to save someone else the pain of this sort of injury. I will add that Hoka's customer service was good. They allowed me to return the shoe even though I bought it from a brick and mortar store and they did give me full credit for use on Hoka online.

These are my first pair of trail runners, so I have to basis for comparison. Having said that, these feel very light and protect my feet very well on rocky terrain. I jog in these as well, however something about the fit and my foot seems bother my toes in one spot. I don't think this is the shoes fault. I have weird feet.

Narrow even for people that don't have wide feet. It's become very hard to find a goretex model in wide for hike/trail.

This is my third pair. Fit, finish, comfort have been great for me. I am hoping future model changes will maintain or improve the things I like about this shoe. A few more toned down color options would be appreciated

So far this is another winning pair of Hoka shoes. I use them for 45-60 minute work-outs 4-5 times per week. 3 years ago I never heard of Hoka. Now I'm a devotee!

This was my second pair of hokas and I could not be more satisfied. This model has a great design with just enough cushion for all day comfort and support. They have great grip for all-terrain running and they look great too! Would definitely buy again.

Recently I walked an average of 7-10 miles on the hilly streets of Lisbon and Porto, Portugal. My feet felt better than my knees and legs!
