I really like these shoes, except that the heal collapses.

A lot of cushion, very comfortable. But was surprised that the top of the sneaker was a mesh. Not very upper support, worry about they wear and Tear.

I really love these shoes and I will buy them again! Super light and comfortable and give me the push I need when racing that helps me to perform better. I only wish they last a little longer for the price paid, so I have saved them only for racing.

Bottom line: the Rocket X is a proven, lightweight, snappy race shoe with no frills.
Upper: The upper here is very breathable and super lightweight. The gusseted tongue is almost identical to the Mach 4 - it's semi-stretchy and somewhat padded. I loved the Mach 4 tongue and I love the Rocket X tongue as well. The heel construction is surprisingly solid and keeps the heel in the pocket well. They look great!
Fit: Immediately upon lace-up, I knew I was wearing a racing shoe. The fit is a little snug over the mid-foot (as a racer should be). It is easy to achieve a great lockdown and the shoe feels great through every mile. The Rocket X felt extremely comfortable right out of the box.
Ride: "Responsive." "Snappy." "Energetic." These words describe the ride of the Hoka Rocket X. The shoe looks like a basic trainer but don't be fooled: it is a thoroughbred speedster. The ride is semi-firm with high energy return (thanks to a carbon plate) while still being comfortable *enough* for longer distances. The Rocket X reminds me very much of Saucony's Endorphin Speed line in that it feels like it assists you through your stride. The snap-over effect is especially noticeable at sub-7:00/mile speeds.
Best uses: For me, the Rocket X is best suited for race distances from 5k through half-marathons. They'd probably work well for full marathons for some but, for me, I prefer a more squishy cushion underfoot for that distance. When compared to my New Balance RC Elite v2s they are definitely more propulsive but lack the forgiving "squish" that the Fuel Cell foam has in spades. It comes down to preferences and I could see the Rocket X being a top choice for runners looking for PBs at a great price point.
Overall: the Hoka Rocket X is a superb road-racing shoe that will suit different runners at a variety of distances.

Had the shoe for a few weeks and actually wanted to return them at first. I kept feeling a pain in my calf muscles every time i used them but not with my other running shoes. Decided to keep going and give them more time to break in and I'm glad i did. Wonderful shoe.

I got these shoes as my "go fast shoe" and it certainly has that feel. It is very responsive and lightweight. So far I feel good about it and I look forward to doing faster workouts and races in them. I am a little curious about how the sole will hold up, but I'll find out!
Oh, I also have a feeling they might be a bit slippery on wet surfaces, and certainly on snow or ice.
I'm selecting "Feels true to width" below, but they do feel a little roomier than some of my other running shoes. Not sloppy or loose, but just a little roomier, which I welcomed.
So far...I like them!

The shoes fit especially well. And I have arthritis in my big toe and they seem to have lessened the pain

It's a good thing there is thin material at the toes as it provides more room. I got these because a review mentioned it's good for people with a narrow heel which is true. It's a good fit and would be better with a roomier toe box (I'm a fan of Altra shoes). They are extremely light and I love the thick cushioned sole. The insoles are very thin but I remove them and use my own orthotics.
I'd also recommend:
Altra, Ecco, gdefy, La Canadienne

Nice shoe but the tongue is too short. Even another half inch in length would help. My other Hokas have adequate tongues.

A bit pricey but love the fit and as a speed walker 24 miles weekly they more than fit the bill.
I have already received a few compliments from total strangers.

I train fo Xc in these shoes and previously trained in brooks. Compared to the running shoes I'm used to there really isn't much difference I can feel while running. You do get good energy return and cushioning without any real drawbacks other than the price. I got another pair of carbon fiber plated running shoes specifically for races from another brand and they feel significantly faster whereas I would only use the Rocket x to train in.

I'm a Hoka lover. I run in several models. I decided to try the rocket x. I'm normally a size 12. Rocket x size 12 was too small. Apparently they don't make size 12.5 so I had to get a size 13. The shoe is great but 13 is half an inch too big for me. I'm a little disappointed about the size fit.

I am a runner struggling with plantar fasciitis, my podiatrist recommended using HOKA shoes. This shoe has a little "harder" sole than some of the the other models, but it does help me out and it does feel good to run in them.

These are probably very good shoes, but they are not what the specs say on the website. They were specified as responsive, it reality they were cushioned. Just not what I need so I returned them with only one use as they were just not responsive.

Had to return. I wear 11.5 wides in all my Hoka shoes. These are not even close to fitting my width. If you wear wides I do not see how they would fit you. Otherwise, still love my other Hoka shoes.

Since these are a shoe designed for racing and faster running, I need a true women's fit. The toe box just felt a bit loose, and unfortch, they don't seem to have the color combo I want for racing in the next size down. Wah-wahhhhh. Loved the look and wished they had worked for me!

I love colors of the shoe but not good support for my ankle. I am very heavy on my feet with long period of walking and standing.

"All gender" so that is never good to fit woman's foot... The cushioning and sole was very comfortable but there was very little actual support in the upper. My foot found the hard plastic HOKA overlay uncomfortable and made that part of the shoe rigid.

Yes I would pry this product again However the tennis shoes should have more padding on the inside I walk for 12 hours at my job and I had to add more padding in the inside of the shoe. For the shoe being so expensive it should not hurt your feet at all. The sizes run big as well not accurate with a size 6 in women's what I bought feels more like a seven.

Lightweight and breathable. Good lock down and fit. Tongue could be a little thicker and longer. Can feel the laces cutting into my foot a bit at the top of the eyelet chain. A little firmer than I usually like, but still a pretty good ride overall. Using this shoe for my moderate to fast days. 5k-10k range.

I do like them but had to sew the tongue under as it is too long and digs in to my skin. Since I did that they are much better and I've gotten lots of compliments on them.,,

I bought these because I'm on my feet 14-16 hrs, not the shoes for that.
