I got these to try out at the start of my schools XC season and 200 miles in (not to mention taking about a minute off my 5K PR) I still have no complaints. My only slight issue is that since mine are a bit wide on me the laces feel a bit too long sometimes but aside from that small detail these have felt perfect. I'm especially a fan of the bit of extra padding just above the heel. Really helps it fit and it makes a much bigger difference in comfort than you might think. Definitely the best shoe I've ever ran in.

I remember the first launch and I think it was black and neon green. Super light, bouncy and I could go long mileage on this shoe. Although the 8 on paper seems like a light shoe, it feels really heavy underfoot. Maybe too much rubber on the bottom of this shoe. Also, it has no snap or toe roll off. You gotta work for it in this shoe. If I'm buying a tempo shoe from Brooks it's the Hyperion Tempo. But, with so many great shoes on the market the Tempo is way overpriced. Sorry Launch 8, thought you were my number one.(first version) This shoe has no place in my rotation.

The banana-themed design instantly drew me into these sneakers, but the fit ended up forcing me to return them. As a running sneaker they did not feel secure enough and I felt as though my heel was moving around too much due to back of the sneaker being too open.

These shoes are comfortable. I switched to these from the Ghosts that I used to wear because the Ghosts started hurting my feet in the metatarsal region. I loved Ghosts for a while, but I just can't wear those super high drop shoes for running anymore. I got the Launch 8 mainly to go for a lower drop, and I love the USA colorway. Pros: - Comfortable - Look great Cons: - The rubber has noticeable wear after only 150 miles - To channel another buyer's comment, the upper is quite sloppy. In this pair, I have to use the runner loops at the top because I keep feeling my heels slipping - The shoelaces are not the right laces for the shoe. They're flat, which is fine, but they're very thin compared to the upper material, which is more padded, when when you go to tie them, you've really gotta buckle them down well. - The tongue. It has nice padding, but it crinkles when you tie them, which creates a point of contention in the upper arch of my foot. Overall, I did run a 5K in this and ran start to finish without stopping, and did not sustain an injury. They seem to be wearing down rapidly on the sole.

Soles are cheaply made and they look like they would not last very long. In my opinion they should be discontinued, and replaced with a higher quality line. My sister swears by Brooks, but she has to try them on at a shoe store. I'm returning them, because the quality dose not meet my standards. It is worth paying 30 dollars more on my other pair of Brooks walking shoes, for something twice as good.

Replaced Brooks Ravenna 10 with these and somehow the size is about 3/4 smaller than it's predacessor. And a lot less comfortable. I am also not a fan of the changed back heel/part you grab from the Ravennas - this new one is a lot stiffer and rubs against the back from your foot/leg. I went from my favorite pair of shoes (the Ravennas) in 20+ years, to a disappointing replacement by Brooks. I guess I am moving on from Brooks completely now, since the Ghost 14 also runs a lot smaller than marked. (I tried those before these and also sent those back)
I'd also recommend:
Not sure now, but not Brooks with newer smaller shoe lines.

Fantastic looks, feels great, almost propels your momentum forward. Have 11.5 slightly narrow feet and the medium width feels good. Will add another pair in different color to my closet.

I got these to replace my Brooks Pure Cadence 5s. I’m not at all a regular runner I run when I need to get into shape for work. These Launch 8s are comfortable and light weight. There seems to be plenty of support in the heel/arch for a softer run. My only gripe is the laces feel chintzy. The laces on my old brooks had this nice 3D-ish design and were supple. The laces on the Launch 8 are cheap thin flat laces. Small gripe I know.

My last 8 pair of Brooks have been different variations of the Ghost. I thought I would try the Launch 8. I found that it was slightly larger than the Ghost and the material in the toe box was very soft. I'm 69 yrs. old and walk 140-150 miles per month, so these will not work for me. Returning them and will wait for better color schemes of the Ghost 14 or the new 15!

These fit well. My feet are somewhere in-between a 10.5 and an 11 so it's hard to tell if the sizing is perfect. I've only had the shoes for a few days but they are very comfortable out of the box. Foot bed is well padded but you can still feel the ground beneath your feet. Fresh out of the box they are very springy. The shoe almost pushes you forward as you step. Style is just there - If you're looking for visually cool don't buy the black version of these shoes. If they hold up I'll likely purchase another pair.

When I first put these shoes on to test them out of the box they felt snug and light. It was as if I was not wearing any sneakers. After taking them for a 6 mile run, I can say with confidence that these are the best pair of running shoes I've owned so far. They are extremely light and comfortable. You do need to adjust the laces properly to make it snug though but that's an easy thing to do. I highly recommend them!

Love Brooks Ghost 13 but wanted an alt pair of running shoes that were slightly less $$. These fit that perfectly. Plus they’re a total vibe. You’ve got to see IRL to really appreciate how hilarious the look is. Totally “bananas”

I?ve run in every iteration of the Launch since they introduced the 2. These are lighter than their predecessors, and slightly more durable- in great shape after about 275 miles on the current pair- and super comfortable as always. I was iffy on the heel collar thing, but you can?t feel it and they break in from the super soft cushion after maybe 30 miles. They?re a bit better at wicking moisture than the previous ones as well. Great shoe, I?ll continue buying them.
