Comfortable and treads grips very well on muddy trail and easy to clean afterwards.

After a painstakingly considerable review of all the shoe options out there; for once I feel great about this choice. The roomy toe-box is the best feature for sensitive feet and toes. This should be the standard for a number of ASICS shoes. Aggressive lugs have paid off in a northeast winter that has had tricky roads and needed extra grip up and down hills as well as slippery surfaces. In comparison to a purchase in the same order based on price point to wear casually for just walking, purchased a pair of Kahana 9's that are same size, however, they are quite snug and might get donated if they don't start to be a little more forgiving. I will be studying pictures to get this toe box on future shoes.....pointed designs / finishes won't cut it going forward. I may consider buying another pair on these on reserve to avoid 'changes' in design.

These shoes are made with inferior material on the top. Within a few months using them for walking only, a tear started at the toe. I have patched it and have now recently noticed another tear on the inner side. I recall reading another review that I dismissed before making this purchase complaining about the same issue. Should have paid more attention to that. For $125 shoes, this is unacceptable.

I had the Fujitrabuco and liked it but a freakish snag on a pointed tree root ripped the upper. The grip on the sole is fantastic -- I hiked rough volcanic rock and slippery slopes in these shoes and they worked well. The tread does not get clogged with soil unless it is sticky, wet clay. The sole was stiff enough to protect my feet. The one thing I would like to see is more arch support.

These lightweight trail shoes have plenty of cushioning as well as great grip. Looking forward to trying them out on some steep trails very soon! They look pretty cool toolove this colourway.

Fit really well. Good grip and support on trails. Not too much padding, not sure if this is a good thing or not yet. Like the reinforced toes area. I've had issues in the past with toes popping through front of shoe, this definitely won't happen. Look good too.

I bought these shoes 10 months ago and really liked them to start with. The sole was great with solid but lightweight construction - Enough cushioning but stable and grippy. The fit was good but the laces used are slippery and are difficult to keep tight as you do up the shoe. The let-down has been the mesh used for the upper at the front. It started to crack where the shoe bends on the inner edge within the first few months of use. I thought this may have been from the shoes occasionally bumping into each other and the lugs tearing the mesh but this is also happening on the outer edge of the shoe. It seems to be the bending action of the shoe more than abrasions that is causing this. Even if it is abrasions, they are a trail shoe and should be able to handle this.

I do a lot of hiking and prefer trail runners to hiking shoes. I generally only buy Asics for road running, walking around, and hiking - very familiar with the brand and sizing, and Asics have been my go to brand for many years - big fan. I have relied on the Asics Kahana trail shoe for hiking for many years and have been very pleased with it, but Asics apparently discontinued the Kahana. After some research, I purchased the Trabuco. The online reviews are pretty spot on. My observations: the good - very lightweight, breathable, and good sized lugs on the soles; the bad - the toe box is extremely wide (some people may like this, but I do not), and the lacing system makes it difficult to tighten the shoes, particularly with the thin flat laces. As a result of the large toe box and the lacing system combined, these shoes are very loose fitting and definitely not snug enough for hiking, trail running, or just walking around. One shoe actually continuously slipped above my heel even with all eyelets being used and the laces as tight as possible. I switched back to my worn out Kahanas and the difference was night and day. Went for a snug and well-fitting six mile hike in my old shoes. Very disappointed in the Trabuco for a $140 purchase. Will be returning these and looking for another brand for trail shoes. If you like a large toe box and loose fit, you may like these, but I did not find them very practical at all. As always, I am very pleased with Zappos' service and immediate return credit for VIP customers.

Have had these for less than 1 months. Looked down today and saw a tear in the toe area where meets rubber. For $139 shoes this should NOT happen!

Having had Asics all my life I new what to expect but these really exceeded my expectations. So light and such a comfortable fit with a real bounce on take off coupled with great grip out on the trails for excellent performance. An excellent trail shoe.

My fourth pair of Trabuco's. Consistently provide the correct support for my over pronation. Whilst still being eminently comfortable after a hard days10-15 mile hike.
Well made in my judgment, against comparable products from Adidas/Puma which I have also used in the past.

First time with a purpose pair of trail running trainers and have to say very impressed. Sole is very supportive over rocks, mounds, hills etc... Enjoy wearing them mixing up road running with off the path runs. Highly recommend these for both long distance road running and long distance trail running.

This is my 2nd pair in a different colour, they are by far the most comfortable shoes I've worn and wanted a spare on hand, that's just how much I like them

I decided to go for men's trail shoes for my Ultra in Cappadocia and it was great. This shoes are literally like offroad car or running shoes. Wide enough to be comfortable through 63 km of a technical race. Light enough not to feel them even when legs are tired

I run in the mountains, rain, sun or snow. Just before these arrive, I went down in the snow and broke ribs. Two weeks later, I began running again with these in both mud and snow. I have not experience and slippage even with the precarious conditions of the trail. These seem to have the same dynamics as Kayano.

A sturdy shoe that copes well in mud, rocks and sand. Nicely supportive without being overly heavy.
