I can't stress enough how much I love these shoes. They are much more like the "older" Birkenstocks in terms of comfort. Remember when they had the nice, soft cork footbed that over time would conform to your foot as you walked around and it warmed up? They were amazing. Then Papillio and the other "Birki" brands started coming out as the company expanded its line -- to the detriment of quality and comfort, I felt. Finally, about 5 years ago, I got new Birkenstock Floridas with the standard footbed the company had begun to use at that time. I spent a year trying to break those rock-hard sandals in...barefoot...with socks...without success. Nothing worked. I finally gave them away and had my older, more comfortable Birks re-soled instead. As a last ditch effort, two years ago I bought the Florida style soft footbed Birkenstock in a beautiful purple suede. If possible, the Florida was even more comfortable than the classic Birkenstock Arizonas I first fell in love with years ago. About the Floridas: the soft and supportive memory foam footbed feels great on my foot, even better with the Floridas three straps to go across the whole foot and keep the shoe in place when I walk. I find that with this style I don't have to grip the footbed with my toes to keep the shoe on, even if I'm hustling along or chasing after kids or dogs. For people who have and love their memory foam or Tempur-pedic mattresses, this is the equivalent for your feet. I don't know why more shoe companies don't use it. I now have four pair of the Birkenstock Soft Footbed sandals, three of them in the Florida style in a variety of colors. I live in the high desert and wear them as slippers in the summer, so they are basically on my feet 24/7 for months out of the year. In terms of special needs for my shoes: I have osteo-arthritis and have been through multiple knee surgeries. The fit and comfort of my shoes is critical, or I will end up limping with knee pain. These are perfection, and quite simply, some of the most comfortable shoes I've ever put on my feet. Note: I don't know why, but most foot surgeons and podiatrists bad mouth Birkenstocks so much, because everyone I know loves them. Maybe because people don't need $500 orthotics when they wear them? They won't win any fashion contests (though I feel the Florida style with it's bright colors is better than the older model Birks) but if comfort is your goal, these are a great choice. Even if you've tried regular or older-model Birkenstocks, the soft footbed on these sets them apart from the rest of the shoe line.

I love these but the regular width is too big. I should have believed the reviews. Normal size is 8M so I’m going to try the 39N and hope they fit!

This is a very cute summer sandal, with an excellent October sale price. The soft foot bed is more comfortable than my traditional Birks and I look forward to wearing these daily next spring.

Sole was stiff, hurt knees after awhile.

I needed to return them because I ordered narrow width because it said narrow would fit regular width. It did not fit, so I had to unhappily return them. Other than that I loved them! Beautiful print!

I have always worn Arizona Birks, but I need a new pair this year and as I'm not a fan of snakeskin or metallic my choices for a fun pattern were limited. I don't have terribly wide feet but the "regular" width has always fit me. These came in only a narrow so I gave it a try, but regular it is for me. These had to go back. Cute print but didn't fit well.

Per a previous review, I ordered these a size smaller that my usual shoe size, ie I wear 8-8 1/2, these sandals I order in 7-7 1/2 and they fit perfect. My first pair of Birkenstocks, they were comfortable from the very first wearing. Nice looking, I get lots of complements when I wear them.

It seemed to fit well enough but compared to other birks I’ve owned, it just made my 6.5 feet look enormous.

The shape of these straps make your feet look like a duck's. Returning.

I love the floral pattern and the look of these. The narrow size runs more narrow than other styles which I tried on in narrow. I ended up having to buy this in regular width even though in other styles I am narrow.

I felt this Birkenstock style ran a little smaller than other ones that I own. I had to exchange these for a bigger pair. They are comfortable and I like the narrower triple straps. I can customize the fit.

A true Birkenstock fit and definitely great arch support. It's fun to have a little pattern and different color choices every now and then. The soft moss green and pastel flowers really do go with most anything casual.

Way too narrow for my wide foot. The toe box was wide enough but the middle was not. The inside edge of the sole felt hard and sharp against my foot.

I think these are so cute, but I returned them. The beige color was too light for my liking, so I purchased the green color elsewhere and like them a lot. Fit like other soft footbed Birks. I like the birko flor material since it doesn't stretch out like leather. I have other leather birks but the straps stretch out after a while and the sandal becomes floppy on my feet.

I only wear Birkenstock shoes. Very comfortable. I have this same style in a different color. I noticed the shoe was slightly shorter than my previous pair. Will this be repeated in different styles? Also, would like to see more soft bed styles and also more prints.

Love these Soft Footbed Birkenstocks. However I am returning these for the leather instead of the Birko-Flor.

I was an ardent Birkenstock wearer 20-30 years ago but stopped for some reason. When I wanted to to look at them again, the sole felt too unforgiving. This new Soft Footbed is just what I need. I'm back!!

It's a little early (just received my order earlier this week), but I've been asked to review. I am a diehard Birki's (not Birkenstock, per se) fan. There's nothing more comfortable for my feet - wish I could wear them all year round (but I'm not a socks-with-Birks person)! I have a narrow foot and a problem big toe with a nerve issue. I own three other pairs of Birki's and one pair of Birkenstocks, but Birkenstock has stopped making Birki's in the styles I love. (They seem to be concentrating on clogs and garden sandals. Actually ordered my last pair directly from Germany.) I am trying Florida because it was advertised as having a "soft Birki-floor footbed." I can't wait to try them out. They seem to fit well and feel right. I have always been more than pleased with Birkenstock products, and am hopeful that these will be as good or better than others I've ordered. You just can't beat the quality and comfort imo. Thanks, Zappos, as always, for your great service!

I so wanted to like these Birkenstock sandals. However, the straps are placed so as to "catch" my pinky toe, with every step, despite my attempts to adjust the sandal. So, had to return them. Just the shape of my foot, I fear. Otherwise, the sandals were extremely comfortable. Such a shame for me!
