A great roomy came comfy trainer. Topo fixed everything I didn't love about the Ultrafly 2. Lighter, more comfortable upper, perfect tongue. Better groundfeel and smoother through contact to toe off so not plodding at all. My favorite Topo since the first Fli-lyte.

Well made shoe. Don't understand why they leave the sole foam( white in the picture) unprotected by more durable sole (black in the picture). This part of the forefoot wears much quicker than any other part of the shoe.
Otherwise a good shoe and I enjoy running in them. Easilty got 500 miles on first pair.
Please fill in the foorfoot sole though!

I don't run anymore but the great fit and comfort are essential to everyday activities. These didn't have the cushion I thougt but I took a gamble. But, they are still more than sufficient for what I need. I'm sold on TOPO

I have been a New Balance guy for years but lately I have been having issues with my toes getting squished because I think New Balance has started making the toe box narrower in their shoes. I did an internet search for running shoes with a wide toe box and discovered the Topo Ultrafly 3. The Ultrafly 3 fit my feet perfectly and my toes are no longer an issue. My only wish to make the shoe truly perfect is for just a tiny bit more cushioning. This may have been addressed with the Ultrafly 4?

My everyday morning jog, run and walk. 4 mile loop 1 mile flats, 1 mile rolling hills 2 miles 8 percent grade up,down. . This has been one of the best i've used over the years . Been doing this route 5 days a week for over 15 years. The toe box is very comfortable thu the life of the shoe, comfort is great when new thru about 80 mile, some slip on descents of hills regardless of how the shoe is laced. Heel counter is so so. The shoe top will outlast the sole. The insole lasts me about 80 miles with the shoe bottom shows wear at 20 miles and rapidly gets to worn out by 100 miles , the wear is all around normal even with my pronation . For me that 5 weeks I try to run them out to 200 miles before they are just completely blown out . Ill say i do like the older version then the new model and will maybe be trying a different model . I originally purchased these while recovering from plantar fasciitis . For that these shoes helped me thru this with great speed and comfort. My hope is a shoe that doesn't break down as fast , better insole , would like to see this shoe with a higher heel counter . Love the shoe tops but think lots of improvement with the insoles and sole bottoms. It's just gets expensive changing shoes every 5 weeks. To date I own 4 pair of the reviewed, two early trail running lows , 3 trail mid tops and one recovery slip on . FYI my plantar fasciitis was discovered after trail running and hiking Moab in my Topo trail running shoes. Still love the feel of the toe box above most other brands.

My first pair of topos, the toe box is nice and wide so no pain if I lace too tight. No heel slipping which is nice. Moderate support but doesn't feel overbearing. I could go without the intense heel support which is very hard. Overall i run more miles in these than my Hokas. My two wishes are slightly softer, and less built up heel and you'd have a perfect daily trainer.

It's the only choice for someone who wants a roomy (foot-shaped) toebox and a moderate drop. That's why I bought them. The stability is excellent, the comfort is great, the grip is OK, the tongue is just the optimum length and padding, but the insole (sockliner) is simply bad - the foam is not dense enough and it compresses too much under my foot (I weigh only 65 kg), giving me no bounce at all (paradoxically, the writing on the top promises a lot of it). It's the worst Ortholite insole I know. I use them with Altra (Provision 4) insoles and in this setup they shine.

Súper confortable and naturally similar to Altra with wife toe box but attention to detail in finish and comfort makes these nicer than Altra Lone Peak 6 tho not
trail shoes like LP6s the natural width stayed as wide as Altra LP3-5s vs new LP6s opted to require me to buy E width while Escalante racers and other salteas needed only D width admittedly rarity for me in any brand but toe box usually primary obstacle w my feet snd Topos not only were wide enough in stashed D width- their neutral running 5mm drop let me run in 5k without killing back though it is way harder than running on flyknit
AirMax cushioning - thar style does nothing who ever to improve your running style which neutral minimal heels do teach you to strike mid foot making impact as minimal as AirMac without privet 200 plus price tag on newer Nike AurMax plus no flat tires on Topos like Altria neno
air to flatten shoe if Clydesdale like me wears out the encapsulated Air in Nike it’s toasted premium
sneaker so i’m dije w narrow Nikes snd forever fan of Topos Altra and whoever makes smart show design to train runner to respect body n knees etc so impact is style of running and level 3 Brooks. padding not needed so can use Ghost 14s if don’t mind occasional higher rise heel as Brooks a and Mizuno ss 2 other padded heel or higher heel drop
e vastly different approaches to reduce impact but both work if Altra or Topo isn’t your thing but for me i’m
new convert to low drop natural gait runners sb won’t go back but wish Altea stayed w widths like Topo (as are other great running shoes - but few zero heel drop runners besides Altra, Topo n maybe Merrell (idk) but Topos good value &
likely make a good every day sneaker for work etc as soo confortable like no shoes at aall almost w decent foot protection but style of running main savings on impact not cushion so price is for quality not padding as polar oposite is likely HOKA which i’ve done a 180 on
snd bo longer believe good show for learning
yo run better Hoka is like driving a Cadillac vs Tops a german sports car w road feel n road hugging w stick
shift vs say silent cushy Lexus big GX B8 SUV n i like Lexus but not for my feet n running style ss too much cushion yields “dumb feet”
prefer to drive my feet correctly than wrap in cushions - yrs editorial but think smart view of running shoes in favor of minimalist better way relearn to run for longevity on roads.. thx

Quality materials, plenty of toe box space and allowed my the luxury of walking around Portugal practically pain free with plantar fasciitis. Totally fun looking kicks.

Love everything about this shoe, best Topo model I've tried and I've run road and trail models.
Downside is the laces. Across the board they don't hold well, slowly loosen. Need a lace with a higher coefficient of friction.

I'm really enjoying these shoes. Before this I was in the cyclone and I prefer the front upper from that shoe but it doesn't lock your heel in as well as these do. I love having the extra support from the plastic plate. Would love to see one with a carbon plate.

I bought these in October 2020 for day hikes and overnights on medium to rough trails, under loads from minimalist to 30 lbs. Longest day hike 12 miles. 75-ish total trail miles so far. I am very satisfied with the fit, stability, and traction. I have wide feet with narrow heels. They fit so well I added daily wear, now nearing 100 miles in town. The soles are wearing well, but the heel collars have worn through to the foam. Disappointing for 8 months. Expecting at least 18 mo. Qualified "buy".

Great shoes so far. Have been a HOKA guy for years but these are definitely itself a nice addition to my running shoe problem. Will definitely buy TOPOs again!

I have ran in a few Topos over the years. I needed to return to a 5mm drop after a few seasons on 0mm (knees starting telling me so). Decided to give these a try since they also offered a stiffer ride. That is a fact. Took a good week to get used to that but now my gait and wheels are in sync. Now I can feel that extra bounce the tension plate gives out. The tongue is a bit stiff and long cutting into my ankle above the no show sock line. Glad to see bright FUN colors... after all running is supposed to be happy. Topo needs to do better with its colors and schemes across all RUNNING shoes - come on guys - live a little! The standard Black, awful White, typical Blue, Green or Gray are boring. I do like the colors and design of the new MTN Racer 2 that is more like it - creative and eye catching. Anyway, I am positive these will allow the 300+ miles Topo usually gives me especially since it is firmer. Overall it is a solid runner and delivers what it advertises.

I have been backpacking in these shoes for nearly 150 miles so far, and actually look forward to putting them on to hit the trails! The trails around here are rocky and "rooty", but the sole plate and the tread lugs make it safe and enjoyable. My backpack weight is around 25 lbs with full food and water, but I still have good support from the shoes.
I have had only one wear area show up and that is right at the Achilles area padding on both shoes. It could probably have a thicker material there to prevent breakdown.
Overall, I am super pleased to have finally found not only a comfortable shoe, but also a very functional one!

Got the 1/2 size smaller... Fit would be perfect if it wasn't for the crazy firm toe protection piece...
If you like a good snug fit on the length, you may not like the toe protection. It gets in the way in a painful way with my pinky toe.
Might have to suffer with a slightly too big shoe because the size that fits my foot size perfect is ruined by the toe cap/guard...
With all that said, if you can find the perfect fit and not be bothered by the toe cap, I highly recommend these shoes.

I prefer zero drop shoes for running. I have many Altra shoes and I decide to try the Topo because of zero drop and big toe box.
Magnifly 3 is a perfect shoes for my regular training because of comfortable cushion without the big stack height.
It is a little heavier than my Altra but not by much.

I primarily bought these for work, as I do a fair amount of walking outside, but also wanted something for some actual hiking. I have a "bad" right knee so I had to give up backpacking and bigger mountain hikes, but still wanted something to help me enjoy the great outdoors. These seemed to alleviate a lot of knee pain, and that is just coming off from a 30 day trial on the Hoka Challenger Mid with Gore-Tex!
I like the way these fit width wise, like Keen [also Sketcher Extra-Wide] boots. Because these have that same WIDE look, that are better for those of us with wider toe boxes, like EEE. I have tried almost every brand with wide sizes under $200, and these just simply feel better for my foot, but they should still offer a wide option...PLEASE! Not a lot of interior height either, so going to try some lacing techniques to try and free up some room for my higher volume feet, plus to be able to run thicker or cushioned socks, and also to hopefully eliminate heel lifting(getting a little better). But I am not too hopeful, because there is no leather to stretch or even break-in.
Length is like Danner and Sketchers for me, in that they are a half to a full size bigger than I wear in every other boot. I am normally a 10w-10.5w, but had to go down to a 9.5 on these.
I have had these for a couple of weeks now and appreciate the waterproof [and breathable] booties, because I also work in the rain, and walk across dew covered drenched lawns in the mornings. However we will see how long they stay waterproof, as I don't have much luck with waterproof/breathable membranes, besides Gore-Tex, and that only last a year for me. Most others brand versions start leaking on me within two weeks to about 3-4 months. My better half says I should be a boot tester for all the brands of boots I have owned and failed. They still do make my feet sweat, even with eVent, especially compared to the apparently very breathable Hoka boots I just tried.
I also prefer leather, so this will be the first full nylon boot I have ever tried, and so far I don't mind them. One less boot to Sno-Seal. However, just like the waterproofness, we will see how the outside holds up long term.
Likes: wider toe box and squared off toe design(like Keen), stable transition through the gate cycle, Vibram outsole :), speed lacing with a 'lace-lock' feature, isolation from rocks and roots from the full-length ESS rock plate, waterproof [so far].
Annoyances: Slightly heavier than the Hoka boot I just had, sweaty despite the eVent DVdryLT one-piece upper that is supposed to be breathable, stiff sole(so unfortunately lots of heel lift) probably due to that full-length ESS rock plate, no wide sizes(even though they are wider than most other boots "wide" sizes), low volume(so need to wear thin socks), and thin/too flexible removable insole which make insertion after drying difficult.

I hope they last, I run about eight hours a week mostly trails, the Vibram sole was the reason I bought these shoes. They feel less comfortable comparing to Nike, or other brands I've tried but I don't want to buy shows every three month.

I can tell I'm going to fall in love with these, but after three runs they still haven't conformed to my feet. I'm hoping a few more times out might help. That said ... I did PR the other day so as Spike Lee says ... must be the shoes!

I bought these to replace my discontinued Brooks Pure Cadence and have 40 miles on them so far. I love the cushy feel underfoot and the roomy toebox. I've found that I need to wear a cushioned sock to ensure a proper fit; with my thin DryMax socks, the shoes are a smidge too roomy. Took a chance with these and I'm not disappointed.

I have a difficult foot to fit. For me, the arch support is a little too far back toward the heel. It is beginning to compress to better conform to my feet. I enjoy the wider toe box and will put up with the arch support for the wider toe box and cushioning because I only run about 4 miles per run.
