I been using the straw lid for 3 days. The straw will not stay attached to the lid, I need to reattach multiple times during the day. I've never used the old design to make any comparison but with what I've seen with this current design to poor at best. I really like the HydroFlask product but this accessory is giving me concern about the whole product line.

I bought this lid to replace my old straw lid (the one with the grey rubber accents). At first I thought it looked great--it was slightly smaller, and an all black design that I liked. When I first put it on and tried to use it I had an incredibly hard time getting a mere sip out of the cap. I thought I'd just leave it on for the day and maybe it just needed to adjust or something. Definitely does not. Still barely getting any water and almost choking because I have to pull so hard when trying to drink. Huge bummer as I love the straw lid. Its so convenient! Gonna switch back to the old one as soon as I get home.

I bought the straw lid because I didn't want to drink from the bottle because then it tastes like metal. I also keep the HF at my desk while I work, so I just lean over and take a sip. But I am amazed at how LOUD the straw is and how hard I have sip to get the water out. I can't use the bottle at home because the noise is so distracting to my husband when we are watching TV. It's also not convenient if trying to take a drink during a meeting.

I had the original grey and black straw lid. It was great but my son bit through the rubber and it got moldy. No problem right? I'll just buy a new one. Great, the new one doesn't have the rubber so it won't be bitten through or get moldy. However when they redesigned it, they didn't make the threads the same You can hold the old version a new version side-by-side and the threads are absolutely different, there's not even the same number of threads. Guess what happens? It consistently leaks water when it's laid on its side. All over all of your stuff. I called customer service and they were kind enough to send me a new one. I thought that would fix the problem, but nope this new one leaks all over all of my stuff too. Don't buy this thing until they come out with a third edition. If I can't double up the gasket, and stop the leak, this thing is going in the garbage.

I am Hydro Flask's biggest fan. But. I'm so disappointed that Hydro Flask changed their widemouth straw design. I loved the old one and have never had problems with leaks before. The new ones leak and especially for one on the go, throwing the Hydro in the backpack is no longer an option.

I purchased this product to replace the old lid with a straw. The old lid lasted for three years no problems. No leaking, nothing. I have to baby this lid and make sure it sits upright at all times with absolutely no tilt or it will leak everywhere!! This is a very subpar product for Hydroflask.

The seal on the straw stopped functioning after 2 days of use... now the straw doesn't work because there is no suction. I paid a premium price for a faulty product. More than disappointed.

I purchased this a couple of months ago and have only used in a few times because the top has a leak and doesn't allow suction. I had the old style with the flexible spout and that one works great.

I bought this 2 months ago, and it has been leaking since the first use. At first I thought that it was user error and tried screwing the cap on very tight, but it still leaks every time it is laid on it's side, forcing me to ensure it is upright everywhere I go. Very disappointed in the quality, and will be returning to the original cap.

I am a huge hydro flask fan. I recommend it to everyone. Unfortunately the quality has been going down hill. The original straw lid (now discontinued) was awesome. As for the new one? I've purchased 3... The first one had issues with suction, it had to be open just right and even then you would get about 60% water to air. The second one leaks, I have to careful not to let my bottle tip over in my car or in my bag or else water goes everywhere. The 3rd, for my girlfriend also leaks with her brand new bottle. Not to mention, the new lid is a hard plastic and just "feels" cheaper. This lid felt like an attempt to increase profits at the expense of quality. Makes me sad because I've been a huge Hydro Flask advocate. Bring back the old lid! Please!

Bought this item and was terribly disappointed. When drinking from mouth and straw no water comes at all. A very poor design and a waste of money

I have the original htdroflask models and my original flip top lid with straw cracked. So I bought a new one and it's the newer style Which is horrible. There is no rubber bite block on the lid when drinking from the lid and the lid leaks like crazy. Took it back to the store and got another one, aaand that one leaks too. Hydroflask needs to bring back their older lids. These new all black ones are horrible.

Even with frequent cleaning mold is a continuous issue. Due to the design of the rubberized mouthpiece you cannot completely clean & sterilize the the mouthpiece.

Just got it (1 Week). Major problem is when you suck on it, you get half air. Air leaks in at the hinge of the mouthpiece (It feels loose too like maybe there is a bad O-Ring there). Love the flask but the sip top is junk.

I own several hydro flasks of various size both wide mouth and small. I DO NOT like this latest model of wide mouth straw lid. The previous model with softer mouth piece was much more comfortable to drink from. Seems like hydro flask sacrificed quality on this latest product.

DON'T BUY unless you plan on having your water bottle sit upright on a table 24/7. This lid will leak in your backpack, car, purse, where ever you keep it unless it is sitting directly upright. Hopefully they redesign this fast because this is an absolute joke and a total slap in the face to the consumers.

I purchased this and after only 2 uses, the valve broke and I could not suck up liquid through the straw.

I have an older wide mouth straw set-up (maybe 2 yrs old). It is Amazing. However I recently needed a new wide mouth lid/straw set-up and this new product leaks bad. I'm wondering why they changed their quality of product.

I just purchased 3 new lids (3new flasks too) and the new lids don't work like the ones I purchased last year--the straw comes loose from the base quite easily--pretty frustrating as I thought these were universal for the wide mouth hydro flask bottles--regardless of which year purchased. Now I have to go through the six and pull out the bad ones and repurchase! Ugh:(

The only way I can make it work is to push down on the extended mouth piece, especially on the ball part opposite the tab to bring up the spout. Great concept, bad production.

I love this lid most of all but the tip of the straw gray part, gets gummy and breaks off I have bought several lids and had them replaced.

I've purchased two of these lids and neither of them will stay secure. Threads on the lid are the problem because the one that comes with the bottle works fine. Love the bottle but not this lid.

Works really well, but it is the hardest thing to clean. BLACK MOLD and other spots appear on the rubber portion of the lid. It gives really bad smell. NEED TO MAKE A BETTER ALTERNATIVE for the wide mouth bottles. I go through 6 of these lids a year.... NOT acceptable.
