Comfortable and warm. I wear them hiking and working. The best footbed I've found to deal with planar fasciitis.

These boots are fantastic right out of the box. I've been a union Millwright for 20 years and have gone through many pair of boots in that time. I use and love my Merrell hiking boots and decided to give their work line a try after my last pair of work boots quit in less than a year. I LOVE these boots. I am a size 14 with narrow width and these are great. Comfortable with no heel or arch fatigue. Had a rain day and my feet were dry unlike other brands which say they are waterproof but can't withstand a full day of rain. I've tried every brand from Wolverine to Red Wing and beyond. I'm very, very happy with my Strongfield boots and think that Merrell may be my go to brand from now on.

I've been a big fan of Merrell boots for decades, mostly the Moab line. I tried these boots with the intent of using them as both a work boot and hiking boot. I have worn them in the shop at work and out on the trail in below zero temps. I love the way they fit and feel, they keep my feet warm, and the quality is great (as usual) and I expect them to last through all the abuse I plan to put them through. My only complaint is that the sole seems to be made of a higher durometer rubber than the Moab line. Not a huge deal, but they do not seem to grip as well on rocks and especially ice (I've slipped on surfaces that I know my Moabs would not have), and make my footsteps loud even on packed dirt. (No sneaking up on game in these guys). If not for the weirdly hard outsole, these boots would be a solid 5 star.

The boot is a very good boot at the comfort level. The sole is great for me as it helps greatly with supination when walking. The stitching if very weak in several areas, missing an inch or two at the heel area so there is not enough material for a very strong stitching. The orange eyelets wear out and split, making a repair difficult.
With comfort very good and if these issue were addressed, it would make for a great all around work boot.

Too stiff. Too narrow. Solid built boot. Quality seems to be good but I gave them to my dad so he can shovel his driveway this winter!

I love these boots. Unfortunately the heels do not hold up. I went through 2 pair in a year and both had the same problem, stitching coming apart in the heel.
I love these boots so much I went as far to email Merrell and suggest a heel redesign or maybe beef up the stitching. Hopefully they do something soon

I bought the boots about 2 years ago to keep my feet warm in northern winters, they definitely did that but the outside under sole is plastic like very slippery and sound like I'm walking into church with my church shoes on! Definitely dropped the ball on these as far as the sole! If the put a rubberized sole they'd be worth it!

I love Merrell boots and shoes for their comfort and durability, BUT, they went wrong with their work boots! I waited for years for Merrell to put out a waterproof, safety toe work boot. When I finally found them, I had to get them. Big mistake. They fit great and felt great right out of the box, and they were waterproof, I need that as I work around water and mud all day. The problem with these is that the fabric loops that guide the laces break when you draw the laces tight. Dang! So I bought another pair (different model) thinking that I had a bum loop. NOPE! The second pair also had the fabric loops start breaking. Two pairs of Merrell's that each broke the same way, both within a month of buying. I have to say that I won't be buying Merrell wok boots again until they come up with a better design. Come on Merrell! I challenge you to make me a Merrell work boot believer!

These boots were worn by a 72 year old man. Not 3 months, 10 times worn in the snow, the stitching along the heal that holds the rubber to the material disintegrated on both boots. Could not wear them! I contacted merrell and had to fill out a form and send pics. They issued a e-card for the original price paid. The replacement boots are now about a month oldwe'll see! Usually love all Merrell products so hopefully this was a one time thing.

Boots been very comfortable but now the stitching in the back of the boot is coming apart and I've only been wearing them for work for about 6 months. I've seen another recent review with this same issue so quality is lacking. I've got many other merrell boots that I still wear but I wouldn't recommend this one.

The composite toe lands right on top of the foot creating a fulcrum that felt like it was going to break my foot. I can see why they are discontinued. Do not buy.

I bought this boot specifically for the 400 g primaloft insulation. After 3 weeks wearing them outside in 15-30 degree f weather , there hasn't been a day my toes didn't start freezing. i wear two layers of merino wool socks as well. Guessing there is some insulating issues with the composite safety toe. I have lesser boots that are absolutely warmer. Too bulky for anything but winter work and not warm enough for that so pretty much useless.

I bought these boots the first week of February and was very pleased with the fit and comfort. Yesterday on April 22 I found the stitching above the heal was broken such that I could have inserted a finger. Very disappointed with my first ever Merrill purchase. I have been wearing work boots for many years and never had a failure like this!
