I was looking for a classic brown leather Chelsea boot or "paddock" boot to wear riding and around my friend's farm, and as far as appearance, these are just what I had hoped to find. Good "natural" looking brown. They were somewhat tight on my foot at the ball, and I would only have been able to wear them with very thin socks. But the biggest reason I returned them is that I'm 55 years old, and the newer shoe and boot styles with a continuous cushiony rubber sole from heel to toe are much much more comfortable to walk in than the classic low stacked wooden heel that these boots have. These are beautiful for a younger gal.

Comfortable right out of the box; flattering even in a size 10 (they do make your feet appear a bit smaller) and the leather is sueded in effect and beautiful. These are great with jeans and dresses. Have just ordered in another color!

These boots fit beautifully and were super comfortable right out of the box. I ordered my usual size, a 9, and it fit perfectly. Width is good for me, but might not work for those with a wider foot. The elastic on the sides makes it so you can get your foot in and out with a little bit of effort. They are super cute! I ordered the rust, which is a gorgeous brown. Looks great with jeans. I thought these were going to be smooth, but they are sueded (which is ok with me). I can envision these looking better with age. So happy with these boots!

Shoes fit perfectly. I have a very narrow heal and small ankles. These didn't slide off my heal at all and didn't have a huge gap around my ankle. They will take some "loosening up" but after a few wears, I'm sure they will be fine.

Bought these and the Cove style not knowing which might work best. These were really cute, but way too short - I got my feet in and had a hard time getting them out. Seemed well-made like all Born boots, just incredibly small for the same size I've been buying for years. Back they went!

After reading other reviews, and after trying on for the first time, I almost sent these back because I was worried they were too narrow for my medium width feet that are used to wearing birkenstocks most of the time. I'm glad I didn't. These broke in almost immediately - I wore them one time around the house for a few hours, then took a chance wearing them to an appointment where I knew I would have to use a parking garage several blocks from the location. After just those two occasions, I was able to wear these to work for a full day. I was doing a lot of standing that first day and these proved to be very comfortable, and I got a complement on how they looked. I'm really happy with these boots and glad I kept them.

Best fit for a very shallow foot. If you have high arches don't even try.

Loved these as much as I have loved all my Born shoes/boots but they felt too small with average thickness winter socks. Returning and ordering a 1/2 size up.

Great boots, loved the way they looked, unfortunately I was looking for something that came up higher on my ankle. One note though, I usually size up from a 7.5 to an 8 in boots but Zappos suggested 7.5 (the other boots I tried at the same time they suggested 8). I should have stuck with the 8, they do not run large. Had they not been so tight with socks I may have kept them even though they really weren’t what I was looking for because they were so cute.

I was looking for a black Chelsea boot, and this one fit the bill. My only complaint is the pull tab on the back, I wish it was a little bit longer so you could really grab it to make it easier to pull them on. But with a classic style and Born quality, I'm sure I'll be wearing these for many years.

I love these boots. I was hoping to buy Blundstones last year, but they are too wide for my feet. These gave me style and comfort, and were okay when the sidewalks and streets were messy.

I just purchased another pair of Born shoes in the same Size 9. These are way small. I'm going to reorder in a Size 10.

This is a stiff boot, and has a rougher look than I wanted. I'm trying to replace a pair of Born boots that are my work shoes (office work) from October to April. These weren't polished enough for work wear, for me. Also, the sole and upper are stiffer than usual, with a Born boot.

I have the Brenta in two colors (grey and black) - they are SO comfortable and stylish. If I do not want to wear socks I just use an insole like I do for most of my shoes.

I have many Born brand shoes and love them. These fit exactly the same which is SO NICE! Tried them on with jeans, slacks, skirts, etc. and am loving the versatility in how they can be styled. Born standards of classic quality is to be commended.

Fits true to size, well made leather boot with no break period needed. So comfortable Love them!

I ordered two different types of boots to try and liked them both but am returning these as the others fit my feet slightly better. But I really liked these too -- well designed and comfortable despite my high arches and bony feet!

Wear for work which requires a lot of walking and standing outdoors. Supportive and comfortable all day. I live in a moderate climate and these are not insulated. I wear different boot in cold weather.

Love the color and style, but as others have said, they are on the narrow side which is great for me, but if you have a wider foot, then I would stay away from this one. My size ranges from 8 - 9 with most of my shoes being 8 1/2. I ordered an 8 1/2 in this boot and it's just a little short but I fear if I order the 9, it will slip on my heal b/c this boot is slipping a bit as it is so I will keep wearing and they should stretch some. I almost sent them back b/c I thought they were too small/narrow, but thankfully I picked up the left boot just to look at it after trying on the right boot and removing it b/c it was too tight, and I noticed there is a cardboard piece that was still inside the boot I tried on. It's hard to see and runs along only the upper part of the boot so you can miss it. I removed it and they fit really well! So glad I happened to see that before I sent them back!

Love the style. Shaft is a bit lower than it looks. I am an 8. Will reorder in 8.5 (as Zappos had recommended!)

Love the shoes. Does not have much of an arch but very comfortable. I have a hard time finding shoes to fit. I will order again.

I bought these (in another color not carried here) because Born booties tend to fit me perfectly. These were no exception -- snug to get on, roomy inside, moderate arch support, room for thin sox for my medium to narrow feet, true to length and width and great lugged sole for winter walking. Soft fairly flexible leather, great ankle support. Unfortunately the color I got was called Brenta, which they called a brick red. It wasn't. It was the same purplish- tinged- burgundy color they used for Kerri booties a few years ago, and which I still have and still love. So I'll return them, but these are also true to Born booties high quality, reasonable price model.

It a nice looking, plainer boot, but runs a little large. Stiff when you put it on, so it may rub in the front until it softens up. Definitely going to keep because with socks and time it will work well.

These boots are super cute and just what I was looking for, but were so small/tight I could barely get my foot in in my normal size. Was difficult with the sizing, but seemed like they'd be comfortable/supportive if they did fit – have been a big fan of Born in the past.

Perfect cross between chic and rugged. Great tread. Looks like a less utilitarian Chelsea boot. Only problem is they don’t come in wide. Much too narrow for wider feet.
