This cooler passed the ultimate test for me...the "Leave it in a hot car all day because I'm a busy mom!" test! My kids and I are avid outdoorswomen, and we needed a cooler that would stand up to the test. It had to keep things cold (obviously), be rugged enough to bounce around in the back of a vehicle over rough roads, be secure enough to keep animals from smelling our supplies and heading to our campsite to investigate, and more. This one really did it all! I took my kids and some friends on all-day kayaking trip, and since this new cooler had just arrived (literally the day before), I thought I'd give it the first real tough-man test drive. I packed it full of our post-paddle picnic supplies, and left it inside a black car with the windows rolled up in the full-sun of a late-spring Alabama day. Temperatures outside the car reached over 80 degrees, so inside the car it's reasonable to assume the temps got over 100 inside the car. With just frozen blue ice packs to keep things chilled, this cooler went above and beyond. I had lunch meat in there that was still cool to the touch, and American cheese for our sandwiches that was still solid enough to peel apart. The sodas were cold, and the four frozen Capri Sun packs were just thawed enough to drink but still had plenty of solid ice to make them refreshing. THAT is the busy Outdoors Mom test! I'll admit I actually got this cooler for my husband after hearing it compared to a brand that shall remain nameless but whose coolers run over NINE HUNDRED DOLLARS for the full-sized models. (It rhymes with Betty.) My husband works in construction, and on the job, you can't mess around with supplies, especially in the full heat of an Alabama summer. Besides the little on-the-job injuries that require ice packs in a blink, the potential for life-threatening heat emergencies is very, very real. Being able to put ice on a guy who's going down from heat stroke is vital, and this cooler will definitely provide a leak-proof container that will keep ice and refreshing water on hand throughout the day. Thank you so much for such a great product! It wasn't just a tasty picnic that won me over, but the ability to be there for my husband's crew that let me know this was the right cooler for us!

Bought this as a gift for my boyfriend that works in the woods. Holds a thermos nicely on top. Enough room for plenty of drinks and lunch. Keeps everything cold. I would recommend this for any outdoorsman.

Bought this cooler as a Christmas gift for my family who spends multiple days a week on the beach in Florida. Stanley's quality is evident and the construction is very solid. I was surprised at how effective it was at keeping things cold compared to your standard Igloo or no-name brand of the same size. Even sitting in the sun all day, ice stays frozen and cold beers stay cold. Definitely inspires me to consider other Stanley products.

This cooler is the best cooler of this size ! Insulated all around including the lid! Ice lasts about 2 plus days . Sturdy handle. Latches /hinges . Even has a sealing rubber gasket . When I close the lid there is sorta a vacuum affect that happens .....I used it camping for 4 days and did not replenish the ice, drinks were still cool on day 4 . My thermos fits on top ,and is easily accessible...

Was really hoping this cooler would've matched the Cream water jug I have but it doesn't The cooler itself is great I would just prefer a matching set.

Overall I am very happy with this ice chest. The build seems solid and I like the bungee on top for securing a thermos. I also truly appreciate how the handle secures the lid and lastly I appreciate how long the cooler keeps ice. Almost as good as a rotomolded cooler, but half the cost. The downside is that I cant keep the silicon ring that wraps around the lid ridge in place. It seels to fall out every third use.

I work on a farm and primarily use this cooler as a lunch box. It works great! After 8+ hours in the sun, it still has ice in it at the end of the day. I decided to get the 16 QT instead of the 7 QT because I wanted something with a little more versatility. I have used this thing for picnics, days at the beach, and long car rides. The biggest problem is that it's pretty tough to open sometimes. The seal is really good, so when it's hot out and cold in the cooler there is a lot of suction. The slot on the lid that acts as a handle for opening the cooler is too small to get a good grip on, so sometimes I have to work pretty hard to get the thing open. Other than that, great cooler!

I love the lightness of the cooler. The size is also perfect for my use. I had a heck of a time getting it open the first couple times, however. Had to use a screwdriver to pry the top open. It might have been the pressure as I went from low elevation to higher elevation and didn't open for 2 days.

I work building tunnels I get to break when I want which is about 3 times as day I'm now the old man . So I'll go to my trucks tailgate and drink water or snack . The cooler is the perfect size for all day plus some... I freeze a bottle of water and drop it in along with everything else. Georgia heat is no joke 90 plus for 90 days . The cooler sits in the sun not a problem. I love the bungee on top that's where I put plans n stuff

Product is well designed and made. I am using this cooler when going to work at night or with my family for vacation and weekend trips. Rubber strip that holding thermos is a noice future, however plastic ends have tendency to break. One went off after few days. I tide the end with "eight" knot and still can use strip to hold my thermos. In general really good product that keeps cold for long time.

It keeps our drinkis cold for a long period of time (up to 2 days) but the inside plastic seal fell off the same week we got it. Was a little upsetting since it was a little pricey. The ease of carrying it is great though.

Cooler was the best one I've ever had until I noticed something was seriously wrong. First, the bungee cord broke one week in (no biggie) then I noticed a small piece broke inside the cooler and I haven't even owned this a year. I don't add ice or cans of anything, I have a good small efficient ice pack and only take salad's and sandwiches during the Summer months so... nothing heavy enough to warrant the hole and I always set things inside, not drop them into it. What a bummer

Works great keeping everything cold. The cooler gets vapor lock sometimes and is difficult to open. There needs to be a larger opening for your fingers.

I was really loving this little cooler for camping trips - perfect size for my needs, easy to clean, kept things cold. When not being used, I stored it empty by hanging it by the handle on a hook about 3 feet off the ground. One day it accidentally got bumped and fell off the hook, and to my surprise, the handle broke right off. I've used it since without the handle but it's been a bit of pain, so I'm sadly now in the market for a new, slightly tougher cooler. I'm on the fence about whether or not I'd recommend this product - I really do think it functions very well, but I also really do think it should have been able to handle a 3-foot fall with no weight in it without falling apart.

This cooler is as good as advertised. It keeps things cold, is of high quality, and is durable. The only drawback...IT IS TOO SHORT FOR BEER BOTTLES!!! It only needed to be about a half inch taller and everything would be fine but they left it short and now it won't latch unless the bottles are laid on their sides. The worst part is I know this cooler is going to last forever and I will have years to wonder how they designed a cooler that beer won't fit into.

I own 3 of these ice chest and was very pleased at first however after using them for about 2 months the insulating ring around the top/lid started to fall off. It became a regular occurrence every time I opened the lid (s). This posed a problem because of your not paying attention the ring would fall into the ice chest preventing a tight seal. I have had to use copious amounts of gorilla glue to keep them in place. I won't buy or recommend these ice chest any further until this problem is fixed on Stanley's house end and now regret buying 3 of them
