VERY comfortable. I recommend ordering 1 size larger than your usual birkenstock sandal size because this is a closed-toe shoe. I'm normally a perfect size 40 in the sandals, and I'm a 41 in the boot.

I love Birkenstocks - so glad to see them branching out into shoes that have a little more versatility than the original sandal. These are so comfortable right out of the box, and can be matched with a number of styles. I have wide toes, high arches, narrow heels, have had several foot surgeries. My usual size of 9 fit perfectly. Narrow works for me in Birkenstocks as they are wide through the toe box anyway.

Stylish and incredibly comfortable. Go Birkenstock.

I have so many pairs of Birks and I'm very happy to add the black Ebba's to my collection. They don't look right with my jeans (something seems 'off' with the proportions), but I like them so much that I'm on the hunt for a skirt/dress to pair them with.

Love 'em so much I bought a pair in each color. Classic Birkenstock comfort. Because I want the cork midsole to look nice if they get wet, I have treated them with a spritz of Scotchgard. As to sizing. I commonly wear a 41 or 42 in shoes. W/med width Birks, I have always had to size down to a 40. These fit perfectly in a narrow width 41.

I went up a size. I wear a thin sock inside. After some wear it gets easier to slide on and zip.

New leather was very stiff making them difficult to put on the first time, but it’s gotten easier with every wear. Same with ankle fit, super snug at first, but loosened up quickly with one or two outings. Easily the most comfortable boots I’ve ever worn. I wear Birkenstocks almost exclusively because I have Achilles’ tendon and plantar fasciitis issues that they solve for me and while I don’t find Birkes the most attractive shoe, I’m more worried about foot pain when walking or waking up in the morning. It’s a bummer to have to choose between style and comfort, but I always choose comfort. When I saw these boots, I was excited to try them. I have been shocked at how incredibly comfortable they are. And they are so attractive! I have received so many compliments about how cute they are. I was at Costco with my husband and he offered to go to the back of the store for an item we’d forgotten while I waited at the front. I said, “I don’t mind going back with you.” I didn’t understand why he would think I wasn’t up for the walk, then I realized I was wearing heels and he always expects me to not feel like walking in them. I love how I look in heels, but not how my feet feel. I can spend a full day walking around in these with no pain, which is saying something since my feet are not accustomed to heels. It’s wonderful to have an attractive and painless shoe! I have laughed out loud about how difficult they are to take off. Again, it’s getting better with each wear, but it helps to put your foot up on your knee so the zipper is facing up and push down on the heel near the back. That forces your heel out the zipper and the rest of the foot slides out. They are nearly impossible to pull straight off.

These fit great on my feet. Birenstocks always feel good on my feet and I was so glad to find a Birk bootie. I wore these to work for a full day, assuming they'd be great since they felt so good when I first put them on. However, by the end of the day I had cuts around my ankles from the top stiff edge of the boot. Disappointed but not ready to give up on them, I left my skin heal for about a week and tried again with socks. I didn't get cuts this time but my ankles still hurt. I have arch issues but I do not have thick ankles and I am genuinely disappointed that these aren't working for me. They're cute and I did not have any issues getting them on/off as other reviewers have said. The zippers are great. I think they are going to have to go back.

I wanted to make these work . They look perfect but I couldn’t get my feet in . Seriously it was comical. They looks beautiful and would be great for dressing up a bit without being too dressy . Just need a better zipper or something to be able to get them on.

I wanted to love these shoes, but they were too hard to get on and off. Once on they were great but I couldn't deal with the struggle! I have really high arches, so likely that was part of the problem.

I really love these boots. Great high quality leather and great style. But the ankle opening is far too narrow. I have no problem getting them on and the footbed is very comfortable but I can’t zip them up. Sizing up would not fix this issue. Sadly these won’t work for me and I have to return.

These were super comfortable like all Papillo shoes except for being way to tight around the ankles. Sadly they had to be returned.

I really like the look of these boots, however the top was uncomfortable on my shin.

These are beautiful and the footbed is just as comfy as my Birk sandals, but the ankle is just too tight. For the price I was not willing to risk that they would stretch enough to be comfortable. Super sad to be returning these and hopeful that they get a slight redesign in the near future.

These are tight on my ankles. I really wanted them to work but they would definitely irritate the skin even with socks on.

I am a devoted Birkenstock customer and these boots are horrid! I couldn’t even get them on my feet! I don’t know what they deal is, but I was SO upset and frustrated just trying to try them on. I don’t need to fight with a shoe that much - regardless of how cute and supposedly comfortable they are supposed to be. I also read the reviews - I used the zipper…still couldn’t get them on. Returning!

These boots fit me perfectly - I have bought three pairs. They are really comfortable, really good-looking and do not get ruined in the elements. The Birkenstock arch support innards are amazingly effective and I truly love this boot. In black, with black leggings, they become chic and leg elongating. The arch support is so helpful and necessary that your feet never get tired. An excellent boot - an excellent purchase.

Based on other reviews, I sized up to a 41 (and the 40 was out of stock). The 41s fit perfect. While I wear a 40 in regular Birks, the style of this boot requires you to go up. If I had gotten the 40, my toes would be squished. Some in the comments worried about the size being listed as narrow but that's not true. The width is normal, like regular Birks. Overall = super cute and stylish, the Birk support and comfort I need, a tad tight at the top of the boot.

Great room in the toe box. I had wondered about having a heel with the Birkenstock toe box, but these were so comfortable and I did not feel the discomfort I normally feel with heels. The top of the boot, where it zips, is a little too narrow for me, so if you have bigger calves, you should keep that in mind-- there is a bit of elastic on one side and a zipper on the other side, so there is some wiggle room (I saw that Birkenstock has a new Ebba with elastic on both sides instead of a zip).

I ended up returning for the next size up because, even with the zipper, the size 40 I usually wear in Birks was too tight for me to get my foot in. The 42s fit perfect. They are sooooooo comfortable right out of the box. Wore all day with no problem. I liked them so much I went on The official Birkenstock site and for the pink (berry) ones too! Great for my temperamental lower back as well. Not cheap but no regrets!!!

Love these and can wear them all day!
