I bought these for a trip to Scotland and Ireland (mainly city walking), as the only shoes I took. They were great for the getting around during the day and going out at night. I wear a size 10 which usually gives me a little room in the toe box. When I wear these with the laces loose I can feel my toe against the toebox when walking downhill. Not a problem when I tighten the laces though. Maybe order a half size up? I put plenty of Nikwax, Silicone, and Scothguard on them and they maintained the look and shed water great in a downpour one morning. Aside from the vent holes that could get water in them, but as long as you’re wearing a wool-ish sock and not submerging the shoes in water your feet will stay plenty dry. The insole they come with is actually really comfortable, like most Oboz, but it fit a commercial insole nicely that I prefer. Overall, they were great shoes for the trip. Logged anywhere from 5–10 miles per day across a lot of surfaces and they held up nicely. I’ll continue to use them for sure.
