These shoes are amazing! I've been a fan of all the HeyDude shoes I've gotten but these are particularly awesome. They're very comfortable, fit great and are made of leather scraps that would've been tossed out. As a vegan, this definitely vibes well with my ideals, I've avoided any and all genuine leather products for awhile now, the suffering and environmental impact is just something I want to avoid at all costs. Since the cattle industry seems to be a long time away from being abolished and such things as leather that will be thrown away is a thing, I find this sort of product to not be wasteful not directly contributing to the issue since these leather scraps wouldn't be used anyway! It's better than the cow having died for less than it was worth in my opinion. The design and construction of the shoe is great, especially for the price. The scraps are blended into a composite fabric like material that is similar to suede. The stitching is awesome and naturally repels water a bit, better than traditional suede does from what I remember (it's been a decade or two since I had any garments made of suede, childhood suede Etnies accented are the last thing I can remember and I think I had an Alcntara phone case awhile back too). One minor complaint is the length of the drawstrings, they stick out a bit too much on the size 9s I wear, I'd imagine they don't size them specifically to each and every size though so results may vary. I clipped them down with sizzors and melted them a tiny bit to keep them from fraying. This solved the issue well enough and they look much better now! The charcoal color (and their lighter alternative as well, though I went with charcoal) looks awesome with most casual wear. You can dress them down and they won't look too dressy but still look great with pretty much anything aside from the most formal attire! The sole is sustainably made using HeyDude's cork insole. This was the first pair I had with these. The previous 3 I bought had their older style sole that was made of a more traditional composite style foam. I was weary at first, they look like the corkboard that is used for bulletin boards and lining hard flooring but I was surprised to find they're just as comfy and supportive as their older design! The sole itself is made from some sort of plastic polymer, I'm not exactly sure but it is similar to what I've seen from companies like Crocs though the feel may be different (I've never owned or tried any Crocs on for comparison). They aren't exactly the type for athletic activities or anything but do well enough in terms of grip and all around foot support/comfort to potentially get by if you want to walk/lightly jog on rough terrain and have nothing else. These aren't the type of shoe you'll want to wear for walking on dirt/sand though, they look much too nice and HeyDude makes some other styles that fit active lifestyles better, I'm still waiting for them to bring back the Mistrels! The Axel line is actually my favorite running shoe right now and somehow outperforms everything else I've owned in comfort despite being much lighter with a super thin sole (I run distance and these don't thrash my arches with blistering). The only pair that ever compared were a set of super light Nike's than marathoners regard as one of the best. These cost nearly $200 though and the Axel shouldn't even hold a candle to these.

Very comfortable. Even though went up a whole size still a little snug, but they might just need to stretch out. Would order more.

My husband loves these, he is ready for me to order him another pair. Half size needs to go up to the next size not down.

I am so glad you guys now make these in leather. These are awesome and I love them! The leather is a little more stiff than the woven kind, but they are still super comfortable.

They're perfect for fall. I got the Charcoal so they look good with jeans.
