Highly recommend this jacket. It works great in the wintertime in Boston and protects against the wind. The only complaint is that the hood is attached via snaps, and frequently gets pulled off. It is a perfect lifestyle jacket for the city and commuting, but with the guarantee that you will stay warm. Lightweight for traveling too!

I've owned this jacket for just under a year now and it's performed really well except for the hood. It just doesn't go with the jacket, doesn't sit right (flopping to one side of my back or the other) when not on my head, and when it is on my head, it doesn't stay in place. That is my number one annoyance. I really wish I'd gotten the Therme instead - same jacket but an integrated hood. Folks considering the camosun, try out the therme as well. P.S. Arcteryx, if my warranty is still on - could I trade up to the Therme?

I love this jacket for it's warmth but am minutes away from literally super gluing the hood buttons together as they come apart constantly when hanging the jacket on any coat hook by hood (which is the only practical option). Huge design oversight, I just don't get how they couthave been happy with that in design.

I bought this as a walking jacket for the winters in Calgary This jacket is great in so many ways. +It feels very warm, fits perfectly, and looks elegant enough to wear to the office. -When it comes to hood, it is terrible with lack of adjustment options and limiting vision when you turn your head. With a few changes Arc'teryx may be able to introduce in the new version of this jacket it will most likely get 5 stars from me.

I bought this coat about a year ago and it has been fantastic in keeping me warm. It is very comfortable for a large coat but doesn't feel too big and puffy. My only issue with it is the 3 pressed studs that hold the hood in place were useless and the hood kept detaching. I have since lost the hood as it came loose whilst stored in a coat store and have never seen it since. I would highly recommend some form of zip connection instead.

This jacket is almost perfect. It is warm, fits great, and is made really well. The only things that I would change would be to include a two way zipper, as other reviewers have mentioned, and changing the type of Gore Tex used. For an everyday jacket it is too crinkly and loud when it rubs against itself.

I would have rated this jacket a 5 star except for the fact that it does not have a two way zipper. A jacket this long needs this.

Great parka. I'm 5'8 145lbs and the small was too fitted on me, I couldn't wear a hoodie underneath. Had to get a M which gave me enough room to layer. This parka is extremely warm and would work for -25C weather. However I melted wearing it indoors for any more than 5 minutes. You really don't need to layer with this it's that warm. I initially got a S but the chest, arms and armholes were way too tight. Got an M and it's great.

Just got it yesterday and worn it twice, will share my initial impression and update later on. Things I liked: - It's light. Like you wouldn't believe how light. In terms of weight, not warmth. - The color is dark rich blue, I'd call it dark navy, but I'm a guy, thus a very limited range of color names. - Seams on the outer shell are virtually non-existent. So thin that with a lighting in my apartment I couldn't even spot them at first and had to look closely to find them. - Zipper feels heavy and reliable as well as the entire zipping area. The flap on the inside is tough and rigid, the way you want it. Everyone is crazy about YKK and I was nervous my jacket wouldn't have it, but I can see now I didn't have to worry. - Outer pockets are perfect size for the sleeve to go in and there is almost no gap left, so your hands are completely sealed off. You can see it was designed with this in mind. Things I didn't like: - Hood design is ridiculous. It is literally designed like a box of near cubic shape and there is no point to all that extra room, no head is shaped like this or sized like this. - Hood adjustments. The back puller barely works and sucks itself back in. I might have a faulty fixer-holder thingy, idk. I got the hang of the side pullers and they do improve the shape and size of the hood, but it still does not look nearly as need as a casual jacket requires. And relaxing side pullers takes more time and effort than I would like. - Inside pocket zipper slider is ver small. I have to pinch it with the tips of my fingers to pull it and I have extremely normal size hands. Having a piece of garment like on the front zipper or just a bigger slider would help. Things I didn't expect: - It does make a noize, but since the jacket is so light thats the only thing that reminds you you are wearing it at all. - The neck is much wider than I expected. I've read a lot of reviews saying it's too tight. It's not and you really need a scarf or a gater to fill the space. In terms of width I can easily lower my head up to my nose into the neck. - The neck doesn't make a noise or gets stuck against the chin, but that might be due to Movember providing and additional layer.

No issues with the coat but the color I wanted/picked was not the one I received although it said so on the coat tag.

So far it has served me well for about a week as colder weather has set in. A good merino base-layer would work well. Tight on neck when zipped up if wearing scarf, knotted ties, etc.I agree with others that an exterior breast zippered pocket is not asking too much. Some have groused about the lack of a 2 way zipper in the front....meh, I've often found those zippers to be a pain in the butt to start/line up anyway. the front pockets are pretty deep. I think a tougher material lining the pockets would be a good idea as I've balked at putting keys in there for fear of eventually putting a hole in them.

At 6'4" 145lbs I went with the xl size, the lenth of the arms is good but the parka feels a little snug in the upoer body compared to other arcteryx shells ive owned in the past. The quality of this product is great! However the hood seems too large, even when tightened completely (sides and rear) the upper hood cover my eyes! If i was wearing a helmet it would be fine, but since this is a " lifestyle" parka and i do not intent to ski or mountainclimb with it, the most i will be wearing underneath is a toque. Great jacket! But not so great hood design..

Got this on Black Friday sale. After 2 months of wear, found the following: - The actual jacket is bulkier than the one on the model. The material felt very stiff and makes funny sound when walking. - Good and clean design, good with causal and outdoor activities. - THE BIGGEST complaint I have is the material around the neck area which traps a lot of dirt and sweat. It gets dark and dirty VERY easily like a few wear after normal daily activities. I think by not putting the GoreTex on the upper inside of the neck part will fix the problem. If otherwise, please tell me how to prevent it. - After zipped up, it leaves a big gap around the neck area which lose a lot of heat. If Arcteryx fixes these, it will be an amazing jacket.

No double zipper, crinkly jacket is the deal breaker. Otherwise fit, specs all seem to work. So can't buy it...

I was looking for a sharp, more stylish and more weather protective alternative to my Patagonia Fitz Roy Down Jacket and TNF Outer Boroughs Parka. The Camosun is definitely sharp and stylish but my expectation was that Camosun would at least be as warm as my existing winter outerwear- if not warmer considering the premium price. I live in the mid-Atlantic- so not like we have extreme cold weather conditions here- yet I am disappointed at the lack of warmth of the Camosun. Similar to other reviews, the hood is bulky and cumbersome and does not stylishly fit my head. Not sure why Arc'teryx would incorporate snap buttons here as there are no buttons anywhere else on the coat. Zipper would make more sense from a design / function standpoint. Overall a great looking coat but not warm enough with a subpar hood.

2 years in on my Camosun, overall I like the jacket but some of the details have frustrated me like no other Arc Teryx Product I own. I use the jacket for UK winters including trips to Snowdonia and the Lakes in Winter, also for work in the winter months, the jacket is my go to winter garment when coming off the hills and wanting to warm up or in the towns of a cold evening. The Good Great fit, very stylish and works well with wearing it to work meetings, easily a smarter option than CG type jackets. Also works very well in Winter months for general walking and being in the country, the branding is also very discrete and subtle. The insulation is well thought out and the jacket, although very light, keeps any weather out that is thrown at it, I only need a base under this jacket at below freezing temperatures. It is probably a little too warm for the UK weather, anything over 9-10 deg C and you can get very warm, not a bad thing really. I have never had a problem with sweat saturating the down. The Bad The hood is terrible, it has started to fray which is worrying enough but the fit is such that the peak rides down over my eyeline, I end up tightening the top adjuster to pull the hood back but that lifts the whole jacket onto the adjuster so it just slides down again. The poppers attaching the hood are also dreadful, if you grab the coat by the hood it will come off in your hand, highly annoying. They have also come apart when I have been trying to adjust the hood which then lets rain or snow in. The front zip is very good (A two way would be nice though!) but one of the side pocket zips came apart in a snowstorm when trying to pull it up with gloves on saturating the pocket. Its an easy fix but things like that shouldn't fail just when you need them to work! Overall I love the jacket but feel let down by the details, especially the hood, I think making it helmet compatible has compromised the normal fit or it needs better adjustment.

The Good: - Very warm for the slim profile. - I can attest that you will stay dry in moderate rain and snow at a minimum. Wind is hit or miss... The bad: - Unless you are wearing a helmet in this "urban style" parka, it might block some rain if there is zero wind that day. It won't do much else for you. - The bottom of the coat is not well-fitted and there are no draw strings. Moderate winds can and will blow directly up the back/bottom of your coat. I underestimated how bad the hood is from other reviews. It's so large/tall (and I have a very large head), it will blow off or let in cold air. Since this is supposed to be an urban style parka, I would rather see a non-helmet hood or include both styles since the hood is removable and the coat isn't exactly cheap. I have to imagine the buyers of this style are mostly not wearing a helmet. It's also close to unacceptable to me how much wind the bottom/rear of the coat will let in under moderate wind. Again, since this is supposed to be more of a coat for urban environments, it shouldn't be assumed I'm going to have a tight/cinched mid-layer in my opinion.

Great jacket in nearly all ways except the fact that it flairs out at the bottom giving it a less than masculine look.

I bought this coat December 2021, although it is perfect for what I expected, light, hot enough for my commute, I just noticed a small rip in front of the coat. And although I can't prove that it was already there when I purchased it, I cannot believe that this coat has already a small rip only by walking 10 minutes to the subway. I have a Beta AR since 3 years that is use for fat biking, snowshoeing, hiking and everything rough and there is not a single rip. I already contacted support and they will send me tenacious tape. I'm not complaining on the service, but this is not very reassuring for the longevity of this coat. Considering the price this coat I am very disapointed of it's fragility.

Purchased this parka a year and a bit ago. Has been a great jacket for one and a half winters in Calgary and Montreal. Unfortunately (and seemingly for no reason, since it is only used for walking the dog and getting groceries), the zipper stopped working. Pretty disappointing considering it's a premium product with a premium product price tag. Submitted a service request, but winter might be over by the time it gets sorted out.

Ive had this for two years. I don't actually wear it all that much. The biggest problem is the lack of a two way zipper makes this coat somewhat awkward to do things like sit down in. The bottom is just too tight and stiff to allow movement. Recently, the zipper on my jacket stopped working altogether. When I zip it up, it comes unzipped. I have started a service request but noticed several other reviews on internet with same problem.

I bought this from one of top online retailers. It has been a savior in very cold NY City winter days. I only wear this item 10-15 days per year in the coldest days of winter. My other coats are enough to keep me warm in moderately cold days. Insulation is amazing - as one should expect from Arc'teryx, and as the main reason I buy your products. But (!) the zipper is a total frustration. Nothing like we expect from a high quality and high priced item. Initially, before purchasing this item, I read in the reviews that people made negative comments about the zipper - especially not being able to open both ways. But I underestimated them - giving the benefit of the doubt to a brand like Arc'teryx. But recently, on the coldest and snowy day of NYC - the zipper just wouldn't close. the teeth would not hold the sides together. Very frustrating experience!

Purchased as an around town Winter Jacket, performs well from a warmth perspective. Front zipper usually (80% of time) gets caught on the way up, quite infuriating. I will be returning for warranty service once the winter is over as I can't go without a coat.

I purchased this around thanksgiving 2017 anticipating my travel to Toronto, and first "real winter" in 2018. Never had to use it in Houston. Fall 2018 was colder than usual in Toronto, and I've probably worn this less than 8 times in 2018. The jacket is impressive and keeps you warm and toasty. Fitting is great too. Unfortunately, I've already found down leakage on the back and major leak on the sleeve. Maybe I received the bad apple, but that does makes me question the quality of construction. I don't want to run to the store each time I see a defect. Yes, they do offer warranty, but the turn around time during winters is not short. If it hadn't been for a backup featherless jacket, I'd be freezing in the great white north. These jackets aren't inexpensive and I expected better from the brand.

I got this a year ago and have gotten increasingly frustrated with the coat. The hood constantly pops off at the slightest pull, such as sitting down in the car. The lack of a two-way zipper was a huge oversight. I had to ship the coat in because the zipper on the pocket broke from a pull. It's loud, it picks up dirt easy. And the neck is too large.
