This was my first Arcteryx product and I absolutely love it. It is the best jacket / parka, I have owned yet. After this purchase, the first brand I look for when shopping is Arcteryx. I have had it for 2 years and still looks new. It's warm and protects you from the wind. The sleeves are a bit shorter for my size, but it's okay. It really is an urban style - you could possibly go skating or skiing, but there are others which are more suitable. I like the very clean look, and I wear this almost everywhere in winter - meetings, dates, snow shoveling(with a mid layer in case it gets too hot). It does not have adjustable wrists but the elastic band inside keeps it snug and actually feels better than adjustable wrist straps, same with the back. Someone complained that the hood is too big - it is actually very big - can fit a helmet, but it is also highly adjustable, you can shrink it from the sides and the back to the point of wrapping it around the contours of your head. The side pocket zippers are hidden to maintain the clean look and has nice depth to fit large phones and wallet or gloves, however the main zipper is exposed and feels too prominent and takes a bit away from the extremely clean look. The inside pocket zipper sometimes gets stuck with the lining so you have to open and close it slowly. Overall, just a great purchase and highly recommended.

I can't believe the negative comments here. I had to speak up to honour this amazing coat. This jacket is state of the art urban engineering. Gore Tex waterproofing, silky soft pockets, premium 750 euro goose down. Strong and watertight YKK zipper. If you don't know what any of that means than learn to read and scroll down this webpage. The Camosun has kept me warm through bitter cold, sleet snow, artic wind, freezing rain and just good old Canadian weather.

A very impressive parka - light enough for day to day urban wear, warm enough for extreme conditions. Stylish too. I commented that it wasn't cheap but as with so much in life quality comes at a price and this certainly represents value when compared with similar parkas from competitors.

I bought this parka for my husband based on a article I read comparing and reviewing winter parkas. This article reviewed jackets from all the major brands and this jacket came out as the top choice in the review. I am happy to say that it has lived up to my and his expectations. The jacket has city styling and is fitted to give a nice shape. It has been warm during a polar vortex with temperatures dropping into the -21 C (-30 and colder with windchill) daytime temperatures. The jacket fabric doesn't look as durable as the snowboard and mountaineering jackets. Time will test how durable it is.

I have this parker now for two years, no down side to Report. The price is a bit heavy but when you wear it in Winter through the city it keeps you very very warm. I wear it to work with a short sleeve shirt underneath and I don't fell cold at all. I don't think that I need another Parker for years to come.

Truely outstanding! GTX Hardshell outside, down insulation inside who can ask for more? This is an amazing garment to face the worse weather conditions. It's lightweigh, waterproof, quite compactable, durable and on top of all it looks good no matter the way you're dressed. Smart, it matches (black or dark shades and hood removed obviously); casual, it matches as well! Even worn on outerwear it will look good. Once again Act'eryx made a hit.

This parka is great. It is not only warm but when wearing it, you feel the quality and how durable it is. It's minimalistic design fits right in the urban environment for which it was made and the fact, that the hood can be removed is definitely a plus! In regards to the pockets, I think it is ok, though having one more inside pocket would hurt. The only "issue" I have is the back drawstring for adjusting the hood. I make tight but every time I move my head it loosens up. I hope this isn't by design?! All in all however, this parka is really good and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a warm, minimalist styled parka for the winter. PS: the color admiral is gorgeous.

I love this jacket. Its so warm & comfortable. It looks great! Its exactly the coat I was looking for. The pockets are fantastic. You dont even need to wear gloves most of the time. They are deep and super warm. I only really need gloves when the temp drops below -10c. The jacket itself is so warm I normally only wear a t-shirt underneath & only needed a sweater when it was -20c or lower. I'm not a big fan of the hood, it fits a little big for my liking but you can remove it! So I have taken it off. I'd only ever put it back on if I knew I was going into weather with rain or snow. The jacket does fit a little big, I would recommend trying it on first (which I do with all my Arc purchases, everything fits different I find). Im 5'8" 170lbs & always wear a medium. I had to get the small. I still have enough room to wear a sweater or hoodie underneath if necessary. I would love a 2 way zipper on this (which other reviewers have asked for) and maybe also a flap on the front that cover the zipper like the womens Patera has. Overall though, I cant speak highly enough of this jacket. I love it, it looks great & the down / coreloft / goretex combo really sets this jacket apart from others.

This is truly the best jacket I have owned. Others will complain about the number of pockets and the after-thought hood, but really you don't need more than one-inside pocket and two front side pockets and the hood (combined with a toque) is more than adequate (especially considering it's removable). It's sleek, under-assuming, quiet styling is greatly appreciated in a market where fur-lined hoods and large badges are common place. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is cross-shopping with Canada Goose. I am 5'10", 145 lbs, and the small fits perfectly. I recommend trying this on (or other Arcteryx products) to get the size right.

Pros: For the weight and trim of the coat, I was extremely suprised with the craftsmanship and ability to keep myself protected against the elements in NYC. It does a great job against rain, snow, and wind. It's pretty amazing how they can do this with such lightweight material. I was really amazed as I was second guessing my purchase after seeing how thick the coat was. After having is for over a few months, it's all good!!!! I've had Northface and Woolrich Parka's which make me look like an eskimo. I chose this over a Norrona jacket due to the style and cut. I get the fitted look I want without compromising warmth. The hood seems a little too large, but it's not a deal breaker. Cons: Not enough pockets. If it's an urban jacket, there should be more jackets. I would be willing to sacrifice some weight for some more pockets. Double Zipper...for the length and cost of this coat, it should be there. There are many people asking for this, so I hope it appears in the next coat. I probably won't buy it as this coat is built to last, but continue your traditional way of making things better!!! Wish List: More pockets!!! I can't stuff my phone, wallet, keys in my inside pocket my outside pockets have my gloves. Even one more inside coat pocket would make a huge difference. Headphone cord holder like NorthFace Gotham. I'm reaching, but hey! Other than that, this parka is probably the best I've had. I'm really amazed at the technology it uses. How can a coat that is so thin keep you so warm and protected from the elements? Pretty cool stuff. That's all I can say. - Q from NYC

I am 5'10, 155 lbs. I purchased size small, color Admiral. Admiral is a true dark navy.....gorgeous. Year after year after year I attempt to find a warm, functional, good fitting, and nice looking winter jacket. I had never found one that checks every box, until I found this parka. It is an outstanding piece. I tip my hat to the designers.

This is a great jacket/parka overall. I bought this parka in the year of 2019 which I don't know if Arc'teryx change any of the material of fabric since then. I live in Wisconsin and Chicago area. I feel the parka is really warm and sometimes too warm to be honest. I wear this parka mostly when the temp drops down to below 0 F degree. I own another Arc'teryx which takes care the temp higher than 0F degree. Of course you can wear this above that degree if you wear it like a coat. One downside of this parka is the hood, the insulation, the shape and the ability to stop the wind from coming decrease the warmest if you live in the area where huge wind is your daily life. Overall, great parka with poor design hood. You can live up with this parka below 0F but probably the best option if you live in a wind city such as Chicago.

I absolutely love this jacket, except that the hood is horrible and poorly designed for wet Vancouver weather. It is way to small and should extend further past a persons face. I find it odd that a "city" jacket has such a lousy hood.

Very good quality. Only complaint is that during walking the parka is not silent since the arms make a slight rubbing noise as they touch the fabric of the body.

I bought this for the combination of warmth and waterproofness. You'd be surprised at the oddball freezing rain storms that catch one by surprise and require both attributes. The fit is literal perfection, I wish a few of their other coats, such as the Radsten would come in this fit. Conversely, I wish they'd offer the Camosun in the Black Heather of the Radsten. I use this for walking to the train station and back, and any other outdoor winter activities when inclement weather is expected. It's performed very well, no wind or water seems to penetrate the surface, and the overall warmth is good for what I've experienced, which is only down to about 25F. Need this in Black Heather, or some cool shade of grey!

This coat has some great features. Warm, waterproof, nice distribution of fill, removable hood. But I returned it for three reasons: 1 - the outer fabric is "crunchy-sounding" when rubbing against itself. 2- the collar is very high and sits up against your cheek. 3 - the shape of the jacket is a bit of an hourglass feel, which felt a little too tailored for my taste. If OK with these points, this is a terrific coat.

I bought this for about a year now and the Camosun is holding up very well. It is warm enough for Vancouver winter and the Goretex does a good job in keeping the rain and wind on the outside (though a bit louder than I would have liked). It is a light, warm, and stylish parka. I did not have issues with the hood, but then I rarely use it. Although it was oddly shaped and sit weird in the beginning from being folded for too long, it fluffed into shape and position after hanging/wearing for a month or so. This parka fits slim. I am 5'8", 140 lbs, wears 36S suits, and the XS fits perfectly with room to layer a thick high neck sweater.

Nice jacket so far! The fit is great. I'm 5'9" weighing 190lbs and the large fits well. Kept me pretty cozy in single digit temps with a base layer and hefty sweater underneath. The range of motion in the jacket is surprisingly nice and moving in it feels natural without any noticeable restrictions. It is noticeable that when fully zipped and sitting down, the zipper appears to crease near the hip. I haven't owned it long enough to see how it holds up but so far so good. A few cons I noticed: - The additional material around the wrist cuffs. I really wish they would have had an adjustable wrist cuff to give it a cleaner look. Tucking in the extra material gave it a much better look and feel in my opinion. - The goretex material also makes quite a bit of noise as others have mentioned. However, it's not terrible for city commutes or taking the dog out for a walk. - The hand pockets are only fleeced on the side nearest to the body. Really wished they would have fleeced both sides of the inner pockets.

I am 5-10 average build, 145lbs ish. I bought size small recently December 2020. It fit me loosely, not trim fit at all for me. I can wear a tank top, with a thermo, a hoodie soft shell, and still to be able to move freely (which I like). Or I can just throw the parka over with a thermo on the go, at least I have the flexibility. The hood fit me pretty big, and the draw strings doesn't hold in place well when you try to tighten the string to make the hood smaller. You can fit a helmet under. I guess this is good if you planning to wear skiing. I have no issue with the hood come off easily as others mentioned, assuming they fixed this issue with newer model. This parka is a little long for me, but that is just preference. Others might like that the long style. The two front pockets only have fleece toward of the jacket, so only your palms would be warm but the top of your hands won't be. The outside face material looks durable, It does make noise as you move but it doesn't bother as much. My Canada Goose make noise too but not as loud. Those are minors imperfection about the parka. Longevity still unknown, because I just got it recently. Overall, I am happy with the parka. It not over expensive, and it seems well build on first impression. It is not as warm as my Canada Goose parka or non parka. I find Canada Goose just too warm, sometime annoying. This is perfect for winter in Philly, Pa.

Got this jacket for my boyfriend, he's 5'7 170lbs, stalky body type. Wide chest but short torso, the S fit perfect. I was worried that it would be too long but it's enough to cover half the butt. Like the fitted style of the jacket, was debating whether to get this one of the therme. Since the therme is 1.5inches longer, I went with the Camsun. Overall, my boyfriend enjoys it, said it's quite warm and can double up as a ski jacket. The cons: VERY loud material, only fleeced on one side of pockets (???).

I have had this for a couple of years now and I am happy with it. Its warm and comfortable. Its great around town but have also used it winter camping and skiing when it gets really cold. I have had two issues with it, the zipper breaking, and the hood snaps not sturdy enough so the hood kept falling off. Fortunately Arcteryx repaired it. I also think they fixed it with the newer models. I have the Medium model and it fits great, with some room underneath to layer when it gets really cold. I have 37 inch chest, 33 inch sleeve length. I am 5 foot11 and 150pounds

I bought the Camosun from an on line retailer (Trekinn) 2 weeks ago and came on time and in perfect condition. The problem is with the fitting of the garment and the rather confusing description of Arcteryx. The wording is such that one can easily misinterpret it and construe that the fit is slim. Well, people let me tell you, this parka is NOT slim fit. It runs true to size if not slightly large. What I'm suspecting that Arcteryx meant to communicate is that one, when purchasing a Camosun parka, should try it first and make sure that the jacket is close to the body (body-forming?), otherwise one will not be able to take full advantage of its warming capability. The problem is that as I bought it from an on line retailer who subsequently did not have one size smaller, I'm stuck with a good jacket that is rather big on me. When I contacted Arcteryx, they responded promptly, but refused to give me that extra service that would not have cost them a penny (I offered to pay the 2-way shipping cost). Of course they are not obliged to do such a thing as I had bought the jacket from an independent retailer, but it would have been a good and responsible service as the reason for me buying one size larger was their confusing description. The other issue of Camosun is that it is a bit noisy. What I mean is that the outer fabric tends to produce noise when moving. It's not that bad and may be it will fade away with time. Otherwise it is stylish and warm (OK not enough for Arctic temperatures, but adequate for most other conditions).

I've had this jacket for a little over a week now, here are some of my thoughts so far. Jacket is warm, looks great and very functional. Runs slightly larger than other Arc'teryx products of the same size. Hood is great and do not see the snaps being any sort of issue like so many reviews have stated. The one negative I do agree on is the pockets, they are a little small and more importantly they are not very warm, it would have been nice to see them go on the inside of the insulation to keep the hands warm instead of just inside the shell. No double zip is fine, no issues when getting in and out of car. Only addition I would like to see would have been a mesh drop pocket on the inside.

I really like this coat. Warm, wind and waterproof for those cold and wet days. The hard shell fabric is a bit stiff but it does its job. Don't know if it will soften over time or if this is simply a characteristic of the GoreTex fabric used. The sleeves are long enough and the cut is not restrictive so movement is easy. I'm 6'5 & 195 lbs and wear a 17.5" 36" shirt or a 44/46 long jacket. The XL provides a trim an comfortable fit with enough room for a base layer and a light sweatshirt or quarter zip.
