I bought this one with the Columbia Ice Maiden II, knowing I would only keep one. I test both around the house. The Ice Maiden was a touch warmer (rated 200 g insulation), but the Merrell's were comparable. I like how most of the foot is covered with the synthetic non-waterproof part with the Merrells. Easy to slide on and lace up. Fit was true to size. No pinching, even when wearing thick wool socks. More room in the foot bed in this one for my bunion. Arch support is moderate but could easily accommodate an orthotic if needed. I kept these over the Ice Maiden because I though the Merrell's would be easier on my feet for winter hiking. It kept my feet toasty on my first 3 mile hike in 25 degree snowy weather. Grip is decent for average snow. I would recommend using yak tracks or spikes if you will be walking in areas of solidly packed down snow or black ice. Snow slides off the synthetic part. Feet stayed dry.

According to a friend that worked in the outdoor industry for many years, I have a “low volume” foot – meaning it is not considered a “narrow”, but it is on the slim side. Merrells tend to fit my feet well. I tried on both the 9 and 9.5 and went with the 9. The 9 is snug but still comfortable with room in the toe box. The 9.5 felt a little too roomy. If I had a fleshier foot, I could see where the 9.5 might be a better fit. I suggest trying your size and the next half-size up. The insole feels a little intense, but I called Merrells and they told me it will form to my foot with wear.

I am normally a size 9, but the 8.5 is perfect. Definitely size down half a size. Super lightweight and comfortable!

This makes my size 11 feet look like Cinderella‘s dainty things. Super comfortable right out of the box and warm. Easy to lace and very lightweight. I wore them sledding w my niece and they were so cozy and had great traction for climbing back up the hill. Look forward to wearing all winter in CO.

I love these boots! I bought this boot for when I travel to cold places and for the few days a year Dallas gets show. The boot is lightweight, comfortable, and seems durable. I like that the faux fur top is minimal so I can wear these with boot cut or straight leg jeans as well as skinny jeans if I want. I can’t comment yet on how warm or waterproof they are because I haven’t had a chance to test them. But so far, they meet everything I was looking for, including muted colors.

Let me begin, I have so many pairs of Merrells I have lost count (10 maybe 12). I saw these at a Shoe sensation had to try them on. I can't walk by a pair of Merrell's and not try them. Fell in love instantly. Said I wasn't getting them. I couldn't walk away. I payed alot more for them then from Merrell. I don't care, I put them on in the store and didn't take them off. I'm in the snow, water and ice a lot as I plow snow for my job. You mevet go wrong with Merrel's. I have hiking boots, trail running shoes and sneakers. Love them all.

It runs a bit larger than other Merrell products, which run usually small. The shoe is comfortable, warm but not overly hot, and waterproof.

These boots are very comfortable, light and supportive without being too tight. Ive worn them hiking as well as trekking through snow, and they are great for both uses!

These boots are much nicer in person, in my opinion. I originally bought them for myself, but I realized that boots this height bother my feet. So my teenage daughter now wears them and loves them! I thought they ran a bit narrow, but I have wide feet. Very often, duck boots are not very warm; that is not the case with these. They are true waterproof, warm winter boots. I would say they run true to size and a B width.

Very well-made warm waterproof winter boot. My go-to for snowshoeing or running outside with the dogs. Seems to run a little on the larger size, so I wouldn't size up. I did and have to wear very thick socks.

I was'nt sure if the boots would fit me as I have wide big feet. They did fit! Very comfortably I must say. I bought a 10 in case i had to wear thicker socks. They are great fit. And the boot is very light weight not heavy boots at all. I got to wear them right after Christmas to shovel snow. My feet stayed dried and warm.

My adult daughter asked for "proper winter boots" for Christmas. I think these will nicely fit the request. Luckily we have the same size foot. When I tried these on they felt very comfortable.
