I bought these shoe because a absolutely loved my last ones. I could wear them all day, walking, standing and never have any back or feet pain. But these are definitely made of cheaper materials. The footbed and insert are different. I will not purchase these again.

I love Merrell shoes but these shoes did not live up to the standard of the brand. I feel the shoes are overpriced for the quality. Another brand going down hill. So disappointed.

Loved these shoes previously, and had high hopes for continued quality from Merrell. However, the chemical smell that billowed from the box when I openedi it, and the shoes themselves, is so strong they are currently out on the porch. Every time i pass within 2 feet of the box I can smell the off-gassing. I am hoping that exposure to outside air will ultimately dissipate the smell. It is too strong for me to wear the shoes. or indeed have them in the house. I have medium-level chemical sensitivity so... Be ye aware!

What a way to ruin an awesome shoe design, the women's bracken was the perfect mule and was gorgeous! Then you throw out your new version (Nova 4) with a hideous light colored sole. Really ugly. Also, fyi, women have WIDE feet too.

I purchased the Nova 4 in black leather to wear when the weather got colder. My first time wearing these shoes they started to sqeak. Everytime I take a step the left shoe squeaks. I can feel something inside the shoe on the inner sole with every step. I am very disappointed in Merrell putting this shoe on the market. I have worn Merrell shoes for years and I have never had this happen before. Merrell products have been excellent quality up until now. I guess it's time for me to change brands. Very disappointing.

I've been wearing exclusively Merrell's shoes since I had a foot injury and was very happy about the products. The quality, however, has deteriorated over the years. These are not wearable, especially. Not only poor foot bed support, I feel serious pain on my feet, legs and back when I wear them and the pain lingers on the following day. They are in the back of my closet now.

I wore Merrells for at least 15 years as my day-in, day-out work shoe for the 5 miles I put on my feet every day. Usually I wore Jungle Mocs, but I also wore a work shoe with a composite toe that's no longer made. Sometime around 2015, new Merrells were no longer comfortable for my fussy feet. The basic foot shape shifted to an elongated oval that is too narrow for my wedge-shape foot. Every foot bed feels hard. I'm sorry to say that while the wide size 8 Encore Nova 4 fit both my feet, the footbed isn't comfortable. I apply a simple test: put on clean socks and wear them inside the house for about 30 minutes. I know the shoe is a bust when I can't wait to take them off and put on my slippers. So I'm done with Merrells. They had a good run, but it's over for me.

I try to never share a poor review, but I felt like this needed to happen. This is my fourth pair of Merrells and my second clog-style. After wearing them for only a month, I have developed plantar fascitis. Sadly, I can't enjoy these brand new shoes!

I returned them due to reduced quality from my last pair. These slipped on the heel. Not satisfactory

the older Encore Novas had leather inside the entire rim of the shoe. The 4's hace a rough fabric. I can't wear socks because I have toe neuropathy and Neuroma issues so I need a smooth surface inside the shoe. Also, in general, the sewed in label is ofter a problem for me, and all the Merrell Encor Nova's jhave that -- wish they didn't

These are nothing like the Encores I purchase several years ago. The leather, the structure inside out was completely different. The older shoes were high quality and still look good. The new shoes do not fit and they are different. The shoe itself might be fine for what it is, but I was very disappointed that I can no longer purchase a shoe I loved a wore all the time.

Use as house shoes. First pair I bought in 2004/2005, lasted a long time. After 10 years I used them as yard shoes. They just fell apart today. 2nd pair I bought about 4-5 years ago, maybe. They started falling apart (pieces of soles coming off) within a couple years. Not at all the same quality as first pair. I am hesitant to purchase a replacement pair since the sole on the newer pair is not well made. I believe I will try another brand.
