I needed something that was a little more sturdy for doing some mild hiking (ie a 5 mile woods trail near my house) that would keep my ankle secure from roots. Hiking boots were too heavy and sneakers we're not enough. This fits the bill perfectly - and is surprisingly lightweight!

I love these shoes. They feel really sturdy on the trail even though they are super light weight. I wore them for a morning hike and then all day after and my feet never hurt once! Not to mention the colors are adorable!

The shoes fit well however they seem vey narrow around the heel and arch area. They do however have a lot of room in the toe area which is great if your feet swell slightly like mine when walking long distances. My normal size is a 7 but I ordered a 7.5 after first trying the 7. I may switch out the insoles for more cushion after I test them with a walk. They are not winter shoes at all so I don’t expect my feet to stay warm in temps below 45. I love the green and yellow combo, the style of this shoe gets 5 stars from me. Love these and I can’t wait to wear them camping atDosewallips in May, which will either be 50 and raining or 72 and sunny, in the Pacific Northwest you never know.

Took these camping with me last week and have only worn them a little bit. They are really lightweight which is amazing compared to the heavy duty hiking boots I first got (and don't actually need given that my hikes are more like walks...). I enjoy the ankle support you get from the Mid cut of these shoes. The only reason I give a 4 instead of 5 star review is bc I'm not sure how well the shoes will hold up over time - e.g. against scratches, etc. I noticed that the sole of the shoes was peeling a little after I had been walking on a v rocky beach. Will be paying attention to that as I wear them more. Overall v happy bc I can already tell I'll wear these more often than I'd wear the hiking boots (which I often didn't want to put on bc of their weight.)

The footbed is quite narrow and there is no arch support. The material does not allow for stretch. The outer material feels thin (like parachute fabric) which lends to its lightweight feeling but probably not sturdy enough for walks on unpaved paths. The olive green color and style are attractive. This would be a good shoe for street wear but not for hiking, even light hiking.

I purchased this as my first hiking shoe and I'm so happy with my decision. They're super lightweight and comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised to find out the waterproofing after stepping in a lake tide during one of my first excursions with them. I don't have many miles on them yet but so far they haven't caused my feet to hurt at all! Definitely worth the money. My only concern is how long they'll last but that can only be tested with time.

Another nice, stylish hiking shoe from Teva - very comfortable except that when I walk, the edge of the rubber on top of the shoe that protects the toes does not flex. The edge by the small toe does not flex with the material and hits my small toe. Sadly, had to return.

The style is great, my feet didn't get warm. But, they are a bit too narrow for my feet, and it was quite uncomfortable. Wish they had wide options.

I ordered the green ones in size 9, and they're true to size. They're lightweight, and for the few minutes I had them on, it didn't seem like you would have to break them in. I tried them on while seated, and they fit fine but then I stood up, and because I have wide flat feet, the shoe itself didn't contour to my feet expanding when on the ground. I even loosened up the laces, and to no avail. I think it's the design material on the top of the shoe that kind of restricts it from contouring. I really, really love these shoes, and want so bad to keep them but I can't. Maybe if Teva comes up with a Gateway Mid 2.0, it'll be design to adhere to whatever form of feet people have. =)

The Teva Gateway Mid hiking shoes fit very well. They have good width in the toe box, ar not sloppy in their fit, cinch in nicely for my narrow ankles. The soles are thick enough to keep my feet from feeling the gravelly, sandy road surface in my neighborhood. I bought them to have something truly lightweight that offered some support. My concern is their durability. I don't think they should be termed a hiking shoe, as they don't have the materials in them to handle rocky terrain. I won't wear them out on the Forest trails, but I will in the sandy canyons. I am pleased with them and recommend them if the conditions you'll use them in fit with how they are made.

I have multiple pairs of this shoe. They're comfortable & even stylish for this type of shoe. My orthotics fit well inside. I wouldn't say they're too big but they are roomy in my opinion.

The slightly higher top of the Gateway Mids allow for ankle support during hiking, but are also great as just daily 'sneakers'.

I bought these to wear at the Ryder Cup and they did not disappoint! Perfect for rough terrain yet very comfortable like a worn in pair of sneakers.

I bought these because I love Teva water sandals but I needed a supportive heel cup. These fit the bill. I've used them once so far in the river. They have good grip on the wet rocks, after 20 minutes or so they had a slight bit of grit inside. The full length removable insole allows airflow into the shoe and they dried very quickly. I've not had them long enough to comment on how well they hold up to hard use but I'm delighted with the lightweight comfort of this shoe.

I bought these shoes to have a pair of Lightweight shoes for day hiking. They have worked out great. I have a narrow foot, and my orthotics fit in the shoes easily. I ordered a half size up from my Teva sandals.

Really loved how lightweight they were. We do average hiking mostly through shallow creeks and moderate terrain (in Missouri) and these were perfect! They are also great to wear around the campsite. Very versatile.

The fits and size were right on for my 8-1/2 sized feet that can get sore if I don't have comfort shoes. (too much running and 58 age old feet!) I just finished hiking for 3 days at Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park with no discomfort at all. They gave me added support as I usually wear my retired running shoes hiking. I enjoyed having the little bit of ankle support as I hiked up rock surfaces and down. Tomorrow, the Grand Canyon! I expect them to hold up just as well. I'll report back, if for some reason, they are not up to par.

These shoes were comfortable right out of the box. Waterproof, good looking shoe for hiking through the woods - you can't go wrong with these. I do think I should have sized down a half size but thicker socks solves the problem.
