Cute and lightweight, but I need arch support and prefer more cushioning - these had neither...

I ordered these based on reviews, so am surprised that I dislike these shoes so much. They are flimsy with a minimal insole, no cushion, so real support. i guess these are for people who want to have a sole on their bare foot, but that won't work if you live in New Mexico where even sandy trails have lots of small rocks that can be painful. And no support for ankles doesn't work for me.

If you like going for long hikes at the mall, you’ve found your shoe! If you want to use these shoes outside, keep looking. My daughter gave these to me and I’ve had them for about five months now. I live on a farm in the desert and I try to wear these about once a week just around our property, but I find myself changing into other boots after an hour or two. Even for a mid-rise boot, they do not provide adequate ankle support. For me, they fit great in the heel, but I find the rest of my foot doing a slip-n-slide in the rest of the shoe, which is extremely disconcerting when walking on moderately uneven surfaces — like bumpy sand or dirt. I wouldn’t even think about using these on mountainous trails or rock fields. Arch support seems to be missing — and my feet are relatively flat. They are really cute, but probably best used for hikes to the grocery store or your local flat, grassy park.
