After a week in the frigid Midwest, this parka has proven to be warmer than anything I've had before. The variety of pockets all prove to be very useful and the little hand mitts are great when you forget your gloves (although don't plan on straightening out your fingers inside of them). I would definitely recommend sizing up if you have broader shoulders and think you'll be layering under. I always wear a small in North Face but ended up exchanging it For a medium. The only flaw with this jacket is the hood - it's insulated which I was so excited about but...it's just really lacking depth. If you wear your hair in a bun in the hood or have a hat with a puff on top, the front of the hood won't even reach your forehead. And unlike many parkas, the fur can't be flipped forward to add more depth to the hood. It's definjtely still wearable and by sinching it down and avoiding certain hairstyles, it works and is very warm!

I bought this right before the crazy cold snap on the east coast in early Jan. This coat kept me super warm despite walking at least 5 miles each day in the (feels like) -4F weather. The pockets are big and amazing (there are 7, including an inside pocket) and the hood is so warm and perfect that I didn't even need a hat. The sleeve lining that turns into emergency mittens is such a thoughtful detail and kept cold air from seeping in. Zipping it all the way up to cover my face was a little uncomfortable, so I wore a wool buff that I could pull up to keep my nose warm. No scarf needed. I'm a size 14/16 and bought the XXL (I'm 5'11" and about 210lb for reference) and it fit well. I carry most of my weight in my butt/hips (L in tops, XL/XXL in bottoms), so it's a smidge tight at the bottom and large around the waist, but it's probably the best-fitting down coat I'll ever find for my body shape (it is notoriously difficult for bottom-heavy ladies to find down coats, which are usually cut straight up and down, that don't look like frumpy puffy sacks). It hits me about 6 inches above my knees, so I wish it was a bit longer. It's expensive, yes, but I'm very glad I splurged on it. It's warm, cute, fits a girl with a big booty, and has lots of thoughtful and practical details. I highly recommend it.

I got the coat for our cold winters in Indiana and to walk to class. It has been great and would recommend to others.

I'm 5'11" and 130 pounds this jacket fit perfectly and I love that it is slimming and not bulky.

This coat is perfect...I've warn it in Minnesota (very dry and very cold, down to -30s) and in Alaska (Southeast, cold and damp), it has kept me very warm through it all. The built in mittens, the wind collar, the long length and trim fit hugs your body's warmth and keeps you very toasty and dry. I don't think I'll ever buy another winter coat!

This parka is extremely warm, great for New England winter weather! I ordered L and XL and had to return the XL one. It is a fitted winter jacket, so it does restrict movement a little bit. This is why I bought the XL afterwards, but returned that size anyway. This parka has great pockets and super warm hoodie. Definitely highly recommended!

Coat is the best. I purchased another coat from a designer for $1,100. Sent it back. Quality was not good. Purchased the North face coat and my wife loves it.

I bought this for my daughter as a Christmas present. She lives in the nyc borough of the Bronx. NY has cold winters and even this week it's been in the low teens. She commutes to work on the train and has to wait for the trains outside on the windy cold platforms. This coat was a huge blessing for her. It covers her legs and is very, very warm and is great in all elements of weather. I highly recommend!

My daughter works In downtown Chicago (THE WINDY CITY) she needed a warm coat so after much research I decided on this coat. She loves it and it keeps her warm. Great value too.

Absolutely love this jacket! It is very slimming and looks great! The faux fur is a lovey silver color and good quality. The top is a little tight, but I feel like it has gotten more flexible and comfortable over the weeks I have had it. Love the build in mittens (too short for driving, but great for walking) and the pockets are nice. I am a size 8, apple type and the medium fits snug but great. The neck has a wonderful puffy band that keeps your neck so warm! The top is a bit ridged by the chin, but it's worth the warmth in my opinion. Overall I am super happy with this purchase so far. I've been out in the city (Boston) in very cold, windy weather in the teens and this coat was a life saver!

Jacket is fantastic. I go to school in the tundra and have never been cold in this jacket. So warm, waterproof, many compliments about the style. Would compare to a Canada goose but not nearly the same amount of money, same quality. Get this jacket!!!

Purchased to do errands and walk my dog along the north facing shore of Lake Michigan in Door County, WI. I researced to find a coat with down and a wind proof layer-coat is wonderfully warm and I have received several comments on how good it looks-even described as "it's wonderful" by a friend today. The wind proof fabric makes all the difference with the winds here on the lakefront.

I've lived outside of Chicago my entire life. You'd think after 42 years of the brutal wind and cold I'd be somewhat accustomed to this weather. Wrong. I'll be cold until July and my new parka will keep me warm and looking cute.

Everything is great about this product it's very warm and it's warm when I put it on. I live in Minnesota and it beats the 20 or 30 degree weather by a far!
