I really like that it is very warm. The pockets are great. They are deep and hold all of my essentials. It is very heavy though so I only use it if it is very cold out

Warmest coat I have ever owned. Holds up to the coldest Chicago. Hard to zip otherwise would have given it a 5.

This jacket is very warm and lightweight. Easy to wear for commuting or to spend time outdoors. Get compliments and questions about this jacket every time I wear it. The only downside is that the two side pockets are low to put hands into (I'm 5'4). Additionally, could benefit from small pockets to carry items for easy retrieval. Overall, great jacket!

Unfortunately I had to return this because it was too big. By they time I recieved it and realized it was too big, the smaller size was sold out. I was very disappointed because it was a beautiful coat.

Great winter coat during a polar vortex. That comes with the cons of being a heavier coat. I lover the large pockets on the front. Great to store mittens/hat when not in use.

Overall, this is a WONDREFUL coat. Love the length, and it is so very warm. The only downside is the front collar seam, which feels a little high and constricting when the jacket is fully zipped up.

This coat is needed for cold northern winters, as it has kept me warm in the coldest negative temps in MN! I love this coat because I am a person that is ALWAYS cold! While the coat fulfills it's primary purpose for me: keeps me warm, there are also a couple of cons to consider when purchasing such an expensive coat. First, this coat is great for keeping me warm, however, I get hot and sweaty walking around the mall/store in it, and I am not a person that gets hot and sweaty easily. But the coat is HUGE so it also feels silly to take off the big ole thing and carry it around when you're shopping. Also, I am 5ft 2in, 120 lbs, and the extra small fits me perfectly, but the sleeves are way too long! Thankfully I can tuck the sleeves in without it looking funny. I also think the sleeves are cut too wide. Overall though, if you're looking for a coat to keep you warm in cold harsh winters, this one does the job! One thing I've learned is that it's hard to look "stylish" and stay warm in harsh winters all at the same time.

I reviewed this coat 2 months ago & wanted to do an update . While I still think this coat is a bit heavy compared to my other winter coats it is extremely warm . I have been wearing it for the past 3 weeks when the weather turned cold & snowy here in MA. The length was right to my knee which is perfect. It repels rain & snow. I have not needed to layer to stay warm,a long sleeve t-shirt is enough. It is a bit boxy, if it had an inside waist cincher to give it a little shape I would give it 5+ stars. ( Maybe a suggestion for next years style) .

This coat is super warm! I bought for use in the cold of Fairbanks, Alaska and it has been keeping me nice and toasty for the coldest of days. One con is that it kind of restricts movement, but I feel that it is to be expected for such a heavy duty coat. Also I haven't washed the coat yet but some pieces of the down feathers are starting to poke out after maybe 30 wears. But overall, it's been a great purchase!

Really warm. Light weight. Problem is feather keeps poking from places and for the price, it seems not right for the price paid.

Coat was great quality but I usually wear an XS in North Face and this was too small. Couldn't size up because small was sold out at the time, so I got a different coat

I love this jacket overall. Warm and comfortable and great length. The bottom zipper comes undone easily from the bottom up. Also if you zipper it all the way up, it's tight on your neck unless you put the hood up. Otherwise I'd give it 5 stars

Cozy and warm parka. I've been using it for 2months now and don't regret buying it! The only con I would say are the hand pockets which are very low and kind of awkwardly placed. I mostly use the front pockets for my hands but it would have been nice to have practical side ones too. Other than that it's an amazing parka!!

Great coat for winter wear. Not exactly windproof. Does not prevent thighs from getting cold. Fur lining on hood snaps off easily and allows wind to escape through.

Love this jacket, great for snow and windy days. Has room to layer underneath but don't really need to. Hood stays up even against the wind and pockets are roomy. The one drawback is the zipper. It needs be perfectly lined up and flat at the bottom to fully unzip so you can't really bend over to unzip. Takes some time to get used to.

The jacket is really nice but too big and bulky for my style. It definitely would be great in cold weather. I only didn't give it a 5 star because I returned it because I felt it was too big and long for me.

I did A LOT of research about women Defdown Parka GTX and women Outer Boroughs Parka. I bought them both, just to compare "apples to apple". I am 5'5 have a wide back , but a small frame about 145 lbs.(as a point of reference) -Outer Boroughs Parka: heavy, 4 pockets, DOES have a "bell" bottom, you should size if you want to get a more comfortable fit, its "stiff"/ bulky and restricts movement, the back belt is adjustable one snap, its fitted in the middle- awesome if you have a small top/waist, and you have thick thighs or wide hips. -Defdown Parka GTX fit is looser straight, true to size, lighter and softer to the touch, doesn't cater to a particular figure, comfortable, good to layer under, 2 pockets straightforward look. They are both waterproof, wind proof, down fill, at 5'5' they both fit at my knees on the front, with the "tail" in the back (less noticeable in the outer boroughs), pockets are nice and deep, but Zippers in both are hard to engage, even WITHOUT gloves. The difference- Defdown Parka GTX is Gortex will last longer (warning Metal Snaps WILL cause interference WITH MAGNETIC DEVICES, such as PACE MAKER, phones, bank cards etc.) Outer Boroughs has DRY VENT technology -regular snaps. Well, with that said, as their description, they are definitely both well suited for work or walking the dog, city or snow!

I browse one-line to view the coats. I decided to purchase at store instead. However, the grey coat was not as describe as online. So I purchase the Taupe at the store. As a first time online shopper I received addition discount instead in the store. Months ago I purchased a none Gore Tex material, the insulation gets weakened after washes. I advice you all to create better insulation and more colors Tyson corner location have a young lady that was a-little rude. Overall the service was ok fit.

This jacket is super warm, comfortable. I sized up as I like to wear sweatshirts and thick sweaters in the winter so the larger size gives extra room and I don't feel constricted.
