I wore the old style Paramount exclusively. I loved the thigh pockets for my wallet and phone. Why did you change perfection North Face??!! Bring back my pockets!!

I have two pairs of the old style. Love them. Purchased a new pair. Very disappointed. No pockets, tight and thin material. I want the old ones back!

This version of the pants are terrible. They are missing everything that made them good. Bring back the old Version before these one. I could hate these pants more.

The last couple pairs of these were awesome. Love to travel in these pants. This particular style are too narrow. I bought one size up to help with the fact everyone said they were slim fit. I am 5'10" stocky with short legs. Then it was my fault I didn't send them back in time. So I'm stuck with 2 pair of convertible pants I can't wear. I will be looking for other brands in the future.

I'm 6' and 190 lbs. I'm active and work out, but I'm not some crazy muscle head. I bought 34" waist with a 32" inseam. I would need to have no butt and weigh about 140 lbs to fit into these. My butt and thighs bulge in these to the point of discomfort...meanwhile, my waist is too small to even keep them from falling down. Bending over in these is impossible without having a healthy fear that they will rip. Such a shame. The prior versions of this pant were 100x better. I loved the old versions and owned 7 pairs that I literally wore til they fell apart. Now, I will have to find another brand that still makes pants for people who aren't runway-model-skinny. And they are NOT relaxed fit, as the "features" section advertises. They are "slim fit." I'd love to hear a good joke about anyone who tried to do any physical activity in these. I'll be returning these pants. Sooooo disappointed.

I have an older pair of TNF convertible pants, they have a draw string and belt loops, This Paramount model has no draw string and the belt system is a joke. It wont keep the pants up, there are no belt loops, and with the built in belt, there is about a foot of extra belt to deal with

I backpacked over 1,500 miles in an older model of these pants. They were almost completely perfect. The fabric was the exact right thickness, the pockets were generously deep, and the additional cargo pockets were ideal for backpacking. The ONE downside was the fastener was pretty iffy. These new ones are just... completely missing the point? At least from my perspective... The material is still there, yeah, but what made these pants great was their durability and versatility. Without the additional pockets, they lose that versatility. They simply cannot be used for hardcore outdoor activity if they don't have secure and spacious pockets. It's a real shame. NF was possibly the only company to get the fabric right for this application. Even companies who only make backpacking gear make the fabric too thin or stretchy. But as these are now I can't use them. I really hope NF restores these pants to their former glory. They really were the best.

Go back to the old style with the elastic waistband. This new style is not what I expected and does not fit like the old style. Not as many pockets and is a cheaper material. I will be returning these as they aren't as useful or as comfortable as the old ones.

I have purchased convertible North Face pants many times before, but this time you sent a pair that was labeled wrong, both waist and inseam were 2 inches too small.

The 2018 Paramount trail convertible pants are one of my favorite pants I have ever owned. When they wore out I came over to this website to order two replacements... But where is it? Where are the pockets, the large quality belt clip? These are absolute hot steaming garbage. I own many north face jackets, shirts, and I had three pairs of pants that I wore through completely because I loved them so much. When you changed your rugged, utilitarian pants into hipster garbage you lost me completely. I will not buy another north face product until you bring the old paramount zip off pants back, at which point I will order 6 pairs in case you discontinue them again.

The last model was a great pair of pants that were both comfy and utilitarian. They were great for everything. I decided to try to find another pair, but for some reason, TNF decided to take three steps back and ruin a great product by replacing it with the current, cut-down version. The current model has no side pockets to hold items inside meaning that carrying your phone (or other items) has to be done using the weird feeling back pockets. Highly disappointed. I'm just hoping that TNF decides to bring back the old model without changing anything.

Bought a pair in the Khaki to replace my previous pair. Highly disappointed and returning to MJ for refund. Cargo pockets gone. Fit, gone. Side pocket for knife, gone. I took my previous pair to tailor to repair/overstitch these pair. I will have to live with the "two tone" look (spent so much time in the sun, shorts are visibly faded compared to pant legs, that is how much I love them and wanted a true replacement). Also taking my Ashphalt Grey ones to tailor to fix the zipper and overstitch them as well. The fabric is still good, just wanted a new pair and move these to "work only", but alas they still will be my favorite trail/boat to dinner shorts/pants.

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
All good things must come to an end and it looks like TNF have destroyed my favorite pants. The North Face Paramount Trail Convertible Pants use to be amazing, I have 5 pairs but the new ones are awful, to small, not a trail pant more a slim hipster pants. So dumb. Time to start looking at other brands. Bye bye north face :(

The Paramount pants used to be my favorite convertible pants for hiking, backpacking and fishing. Without the cargo pockets, I will have to find a replacement. I'm very disappointed in North Face.

I was excited to get another pair of North Face convertible trail pants - when I put them on, they are a different size from my original pair. Too small (I even ordered a size larger). I am returning them now.

Wore my 2019 version to the bone... great product! These are flat out awful as others have pointed out. Thigh pockets are gone, downgraded fabric, fit less functional. If you need something for urban walk once a month go for it....If you want serious outdoor gear these are not it. Too bad North Face, you trashed a great product.

Very sad to see all the negative changes NF made. My 2 pants from 2019 are terrific. The pair i just bought are from another mother. The fit, the features and the pride of ownership have all been compromised. I am a loyal NF fan. Somebody chose to compromise quality for the sake of profit

The North Face has totally dropped the ball on this one. The old Paramount Trail pants I bought last year are great but now they messed with a great design. I guess I will start shopping other brands until TNF comes back to their senses :(

1 father, and 2 teen's in the house - we have worn the older version for multiple activities for years BUT these just don't fit in the new style. One of my son's can wear the pants but doesn't enjoy the tight seat and thighs when being active, while the overall fit doesn't work in the slim design for the other 2 of us. Love TNF - but very disappointed with the re-design. Currently shopping for new old stock.

These fit so terribly, they're too small all around. Not loose, too tight. Shorts part too short, leg part too small, thighs show too much.

Complete Redesign from prior years. No longer fits my body style. Slim fit, not relaxed. Binds in the thigh, less mobility compared to previous Paramount Trail. No elastic waist band, snugger in waist, tighter in hip, seat, crotch, thigh, and lower leg. Same NF quality, new 2020 tailoring does not work for me. I am stocking up on Paramount Trail pants made 2017, 2018, and 2019 on clearance

The changed so many things for the worse. Past versions of this pants were perfect. The material is thinner and does not appear to be as durable. The fitting says relaxed. In previous versions of this pants I wore mediums. These mediums were too tight. There are no pockets on the thighs. Older version had big pockets on the thighs.
