Great shoe, probably the lightest I've ever used. Using it on shorter runs, 3-5 miles, it's bettered my mile splits from my previous shoes. This weekend, however, I took them out for my 1st ever half marathon and figured out that the Tempo may be both to narrow for me and that even though I went up half a size with my purchase, it may not have been enough. Only one black nail, but a number of the other toes were sour on the tipssomething I've got to get figured out. Love the durability of Brooks though, still wear my retired pair from last year around town.

Looks as good as expected from the photos. Fit snug, has air holes on the top fabric. I like these for indoor cardio boxing. They were a bit tight on the sides for me.

A good and lively shoe overall. I wore these for a Marathon race and I would say they held up to the distance well. I don't think I would use this as an every-day trainer, it would be nice to have an option with more cushion in the forefoot for me for longer runs, but I really like it for workouts and races.

I really wanted to love these shoes, but they were just too narrow on my toes. The shoes themselves were great as was Brooks customer service. I wish Brooks would make their toe boxes wider a la Altra/Topo.

Shoes are great so far. Probably have 40 miles in them so far and feel really good. A little narrower than previous Brooks I have owned, but nothing terrible. The single most downfall of these shoes are the laces...terrible. Simply not a fan of the laces that come with the shoes as they are somewhat stretchy, thus after a while of running the shoes never feels "tight"

Overall, I really like these. They definitely are fast shoes, I cut about 30 seconds off my average per mile pace immediately upon switching to these from a pair of York Athletic trainers. No break in period needed, they feel pretty stable, and for the distances I run (between 3-5 miles), they're perfect. I've put about 100 miles on the shoes by this point and there's barely any wear on the tread. I've seen some people complaining about the laces, but they don't bother me. Every decision made in the design of the shoe seems to be carefully considered. I would definitely buy another pair.

After a track workout and one 6-mile run, I knew the Hyperion Tempo were going to be my go-to speed shoe. Light and bouncy - they felt great. And I'm guessing had my race been during dry conditions, the shoe would have garnered 5 stars from me. However, race day came and it was drizzling for 90% of the race - not a downpour, not even a steady rain, but a persistent drizzle. Sure, my feet were wet (not a surprise) but the sheer quantity of water the shoes retained was stunning. I took them off post-race and literally poured water out of my shoes. It was stunning how much water these shoes retained. When the forecast calls for rain, leave these at home. For any race/work-out where the weather is rain-free - don't think twice and lace these babies up. Your feet will thank you.

The fit was very similar to my other running shoes - the neutral Brooks Ghost and Glycerin. That being said, the similarity extended to the left heel slippage which has been evident since the Brooks Ghost 12 iteration. I don't think my foot has shrunk over the last four years. I find it a little uncomfortable to the point of wearing a thick sock on my left foot and a thin sock on my right foot to compensate for the imbalance. I do find that the Hyperion Tempo is a plus because of it's minimal weight and a more pronounced feel for the road when jogging more than six miles. HOWEVER, do something about the tongue! The tongue invariably slips below the laces regardless of their tightness when going any extended miles. Otherwise, this is a great shoe to have in your closet, along with the Ghost and Glycerin. BTW, I'm 5'10", 180 lbs and 74 years young.
I'd also recommend:
Brooks Ghost 13 and Brooks Glycerin 19

I have always liked Brooks shoes. these ones feel so light. I did have a hard time getting used to the way the heels felt inside the sole of the shoe. after walking around in them for about an hour they felt quite a bit more comfortable. now a few days in, very glad I got them.

Great shoe for easy or tempo runs. After 13 or so miles, not as comfortable as other shoes so probably not a go to for long runs. Only negative that really hasn?t impacted the shoe?s performance is the tongue wants to ride down and doesn?t stay in place.

Great shoe. The shoe laces should be longer. Very light and great for speed. Needs a little bit more cushion.

So far so good with the shoes. I?ve been powerlifting and doing strongman competitions for years. This is a first since 9th grade trying running. I?m now nearly 60, so it?s hard to judge shoes. But I?m not feeling uncomfortable with them, just unused to running. I do love how light and breathable they are so far. Weighing in at a svelte 275 lbs, at 6? 2? is challenging, but the shoes feel good and supportive.

Bought these shoes out of curiosity and ended up keeping it! I was looking for a non-plated, tempo shoe that was modern (i.e. updated geometry and a "super foam"), stable but with minimal postings/overlays, and lightweight. Until now my runs were primarily in heavier and firmer daily trainers. I read and watched many reviews online and was struck by how many reviewers enjoyed these shoes over the long term. For me these shoes hit the sweet spot I wanted. It is all of the above -- I particularly like how my foot is able to follow its natural strike and form while being responsive -- with just the right amount of pop and cushion. If I had one knock against the shoe it would be for the 8 mm drop -- hence the four stars. I find 5-6 mm to be the sweet spot with a nice balance of relief on the achilles without straining the knees. An 8 mm drop does put a bit more pressure on my knees, and I notice it. Overall: it really is a joy to run ... and run fast in the Hyperion Tempo!

I compare all my new shoes to my Transend 7 pair. The are my number 1 shoes. They are nice and light, very form fitting. I like the Hyperion Tempo.

One of the greatest shoes I've had on my feet. Lifting heavy and running a few miles most days of the week. They've held up well, given the beating. Only adjustment I'd make is to pad the tongue more (took one star for this). Hope to see a tempo 2 release soon!

Lightweight and fast shoe, clearly designed for faster long runs. Not as much lateral support as typical trainers (to be expected). Was expecting cushion to be similar to that of the Hyperion Elite 2's, but these feel much stiffer. I run 70-80 mile weeks in training and prepping for the mile (4:15). Will stick with the Levitates for recovery mileage which have a bit more support and durability as opposed to making the Tempos my daily trainer. I am a fan of the shoe and excited to see the later models.

An extra lightweight running shoe. However it didn't give me the support that I needed. I'm 220 pounds. I will stick with glycerins.

For me, this is the best shoe for dry conditions. Light and fast. Unfortunately, like other Brooks models I've tried (except Grlycerin), when it comes wet surface then it becomes slippery (I've tried black/aqua blue model).

These are great shoes for tempo day training. They are true to size and are very light weight. I had the Hoka One One Rincons and these shoes feel very similar. However the Brooks have more rubber for better traction. They also appear to be more durable just doing a side-by-side comparison at 100 miles.

I usually wear the ghost, but I wanted a faster running shoe for races. These for the bill pretty well.
This shoe's primary strength is the weight. They are very light. The upper is comfortable from the first run.
My one complaint is that the cushioning is not as substantial as you would predict from the thickness of the sole.

Tried these out because my Nike Pegasus Turbo 2's were giving me blisters. Brooks fit be great and these are no exception, but they don't seem to offer the same responsiveness as the Nikes do.
