Size: 9 2E After having ACL repair surgery, the GTS were the only shoes that didn't cause knee/leg pain. I have wide feet at the base of my toes (not thick feet) and need double wide shoes because of it. This makes it very difficult to find good shoes. I'm not a runner but rather a teacher who spends most of the day on my feet. I've been buying the GTS, 2 pairs at a time because I like them so much (and they come in extra wide). I bought 2 pairs of the new GTS 21 back in April. I just started to wear the first pair since summer break is over. I am in pain. The toe box area must be narrower because the outside of my big toes (both) at the toward the end of my toes are SORE! They must be rubbing on something. Everywhere else fits perfectly so I know I can't go up 1/2 a size. It's so bad, that I'm returning the 2nd pair (in box, never worn).. I'd like to return the 1st pair but it's past the 90 days and I threw away the box. After about 3 days of wearing, I'm going to have to either give the first pair away or throw them away. That's how bad it has hurt my toes.

I recently bought this shoe as my 4th pair of Adrenaline GTS shoes (I've worn and loved the 17, 19, and 20 versions). I've always found them supportive and comfortable for 3+ mile runs and walks, but unfortunately this new version doesn't stack up! The upper shoe around the ankle is stiff, and it is higher in the front than the Adrenaline GTS 20. My ankles bump into this higher upper on every step and end up sore after just a walk, let alone a run. At first I thought I just needed to break them in, but now I've done many miles in the shoes and the discomfort around the ankles is unfortunately still there. Definitely try these on and walk around a lot in store/in home to see if these work for you. If I had known how these would feel after several miles outside, I would have switched styles or even brands rather than jump back into Adrenalines.

I have been wearing Brooks Adrenaline shoes for over 10 years now and the GTS 21 was so disappointing. I needed a new pair at the time so I just sucked it up and wore them. I was on here to order another pair of shoes (not the Adrenaline) and was reading the reviews on this shoe and was not surprised with the low ratings that some gave. The shoe feels completely different than previous years and a few weeks into wearing these one of the eyes just broke as I was tying my shoe. They do not retain their fit after wearing just a few times. I am going to try another Brooks shoe but am hoping they change the Adrenaline back in the coming years.

I started wearing Brooks sneakers with Ghost 5. After Ghost 8 I switched to Adrenaline. The Adrenaline 18 was my favorite and apparently I bought 2 pair as I just found a new pair at the bottom of my closet. The Adrenaline 21 IMHO is a glorified Ghost. The sole of the heel is like a marshmallow. Maybe I got a bad pair or maybe this is what others want. I miss the support of the earlier Adrenalines. One other thing. They do not stay tied.

I purchased this pair shoes with the intention that I would have the best running experience of my life. They felt really good for about a week. However, they were not as soft as I had envisioned. I run long distances and these made everything cramp after about 30 mins of running. Nothing like I have ever experienced with other shoes. The other negative aspect is that these shoes are extremely hot. I anticipated that these would be cool with the breathable fabric but was I ever wrong. Being that this was my first pair of Brooks, I was disappointed and probably will not buy another pair. But, I gave it a fair attempt.

I have worn the adrenalines for over 10 years and they have always provided amazing cushion and support. I had a purchased the GTS 20 earlier this year and they were great. Then I got the GTS 21 and immediately when I put them on I knew there was something off. They do not feel the same fit wise and have no where near the cushion or support. Now just a few months into the shoes it feels like I have had them for years and have knee and shin pain. Very disappointed in the GTS 21 edition.

I like the light weight and the cool mesh, but the toe box is too large and the laces too long.

TOO ROOMY, ESPECIALLY in the Toe Box. Another person said the same thing in their review, Brooks needs to bring back the GTS20 which is way better and all I can wear
