The fit and size were great. The cushioning and support were better than the Nike Pegasus running shoes that I replaced these with. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied

Even better then the ghost 12

This shoe is better than the Ghost 12 in terms of fit for the 4E width. This one was really very close. But, for me I felt something right along the outside edge of both shoes, right about where the shoe tapers in on the bottom. It just felt too much on the bottom of the shoe on each side was pinching. It was uncomfortable. But, oh so close. The Ghost 11 4E fit like a glove from the moment I put it on. I've purchased 4 or 5 of them! They are all getting old now... booooooo!

I've worn Brooks Ghost for years, and still think the Ghost 11 is the best that Brooks has released. The Ghost 13 comes close to the 11 (after the 12 was, in my opinion, a big miss) - BUT, the 13 appears to have taken a few shortcuts that makes it inferior to the 11. First, the width and the length (12.5 4E) are still excellent - yes, it's slightly narrower in the toe box than the 11, but not too much and doesn't really change the feel. The cushioning and support are excellent. My biggest complaint, however, is that where the shoe laces are tied at the very top, the padded tongue is not as wide as the 11s - so, the edges of the shoe (where the top eyelets are) - lacking the padded tongue - cut into the insides of my ankles right below the ankle bones. Also, the heel is slightly lower than my 11s and does not feel like it grabs my heel firmly (like the 11s do). If you missed buying the 11s, then the 13s are definitely a good shoe (particularly if you want true sizing and true width - with good room for your toes). However, if, like me, you stocked up on the 11s, then hopefully the future 14s will address some of these complaints.
