I am impressed with how easy this high cushioned shoe is to run in. I expected a shoe of this weight to be slow, but I was surprised how good it felt. I look forward to putting a lot of miles in the Triumph.

I bought these shoes back at the end of August and I love them. I have run in the Saucony Triumphs for the last 7 years and to be honest they always seem to get better. This version is no different, with one exception. First the positives. The upper fits great, and while it breathes well, its not wide open to elements like the Triumph ISO5 was. The toe box is wide enough to allow your toes to spread out without any hot spots. My foot feels locked up in the shoe, it never rubs or feels like its going to slide out of the shoe. The styling is another huge upgrade, I love the brighter colors in this iteration. The cushion and support are exactly what my old arthritic knees. I'm not a small runner, at 6' 3" and 215 I'm pretty hard on shoes and the PwrRun cushion is still supportive. My only complaint is that the outsole is wearing down really fast. I've run about 120 miles in them and when I run up steep grade I sometimes feel the shoe slip. This happens a lot when the road is wet. I would still recommend these shoes to neutral runners especially if you're looking for a daily trainer that will help alleviate the shock from running.

I've only been a runner for about 2 years. The Triumph17 was my first "real" pair of running shoes, and I could not have been happier. The 18s are good, but for me the 17s are 5/5 and I can't give the same rating to the 18s. I still occasionally put on my 17s and it's that "fits like a glove" feeling. I don't quite get that with the 18s, but still a great shoe and my feet feel great even after 10+miles. It seems like the fabric around the heel/upper is looser with less padding than the 17s. And there seems to be a little less bounce in the soles too. It was a little disappointing to feel like some of the best qualities of the 17s were left off of the updated model. They are a little lighter, which is nice.

I have been running in Saucony shoes since the original Jazz turned my feet burgundy, waaay back in the day. Every so often the firm's desire to keep pace with its competitors leaves me without a good shoe to run in, as it changes an old standby so much that I can't run in it anymore. I still miss the generation of shoes based on "Grid technology". I've been running in the Triumph since at least the model 10. The models 17, which I just replaced, and model 18, which I'm reviewing here, both have the same deficiency: they are far too cushioned, even for a shoe that is marketed as having a cushiony ride. I've run in some trail-shoes that are designed to look like clown shoes (trail runners will know what shoe I refer to), and these have almost that same landing-on-marshmallow feel. There's insufficient structure for effective push-off on downhills, when I do have a tendency to land on my heels. On flat pavement, the rebound is acceptable, but the lack of structure is still telling. I don't need a stability shoe, but I need something better than feather pillows on my feet. Okay folks, lightweight and soft cushion is great, but I think you've hit the limit. Until I can identify a successor, I will likely wear my Peregrines on the road for a while.

The Triumph is great as expected - super comfy and fits the ankle like a glove. It provides for a bouncier ride than other running shoes I've worn. It is not the lightest option but makes up for it with comfort, cushion, and support. Good for high impact daily use.

Not an improvement over the 17. The ride is the same, but the upper is not as plush, fits more snug and there is some top of foot pressure. Not a bad shoe, still worth it for the ride, but going in the wrong direction with the upper.

The 18 is comfortable walking, but not while driving. My heel hurts.

Great shoe overall. Bought to replace a stability shoe. Good cushioning, great upper, laces are a bit long and stretchy. Took out for a 16 mi long run at easy/recovery pace and was comfortable to pick up the pace at the last couple miles. Only concern were the laces and a weird hot spot on the left bottom 5th metatarsal. We'll see if this goes away over time, different socks etc.

While the triumph 18s fit and perform within my expectations. They are nowhere near as comfortable as the triumph 17s. While I appreciate Saucony striving to improve their products. I find myself like Forrest Gump in the box of chocolates every time I order the new triumph release. You really never know what you're going to get.

I ended up putting about 30 miles in this shoe before having to pass it along to my father for walking. I tried my best to make it work on medium distance, slow runs, but it just didn't work with my feet. Picked up little injuries (shin splints, mild knee pain) pretty much every time I took it out. Also, I found the shoe to run a half size to large....and that may have attributed to the issues as well. On the plus side its a great looking shoe in the future neon color way and I'm sure it will make a great walking shoe for my father. If you're looking for a similar option that actually feels more cushioned and lighter, I'd go with the Endorphin Shift.

A solid, highly cushioned shoe that just doesn't quite live up to the previous model. I found this shoe to be comfortable walking, but the too stiff midsole when running lead to discomfort on the heel/achilles.

I am in no way a professional but enjoy running a few days a week 1-5 miles on a mix of road and uneven terrain. I originally had been enjoying a few pairs of the Triumph ISO series shoes and I assumed that the triumphs would stay fairly similar to the older ISO models. When I switched to the triumph 18 I felt they were heavy and unresponsive. Much stiffer in the upper and toe area. It feels like they became a walking shoe. If you are transitioning from earlier models I recommend trying them out before you commit. Pretty disappointed but maybe they just need a few more miles on them.

These didn't work for me. Might feet are wide and on the flat side and a bit wide. I didn't feel like my weight was distributed evenly across my foot, so they caused a lot of pain in my shins.

These shoes are a disappointment. The uppers are fine but have much less cushioning than the previous generation. If you are looking for a similar ride, I'd pass on this generation.

It was a gift for a very good runner and friend. I bought the peregrine pro for me, which I don't like. Very disappointed since it was so expensive

Too narrow for bunions and the border around the footbed too stiff. Lots of nice cushion underfoot, but I went with the Endorphin Shift: lighter, no stiff guard rails to dig into my bunions.

What changed? I absolutely loved the Triumph 17. I had two pair. I put almost 500 miles on each pair. They were so plush and comfy. The PWRRN+ foam was glorious. I thought these would be the same with only some changes made to the upper. But something is different. Whereas the Triumph 17 was plush the midsole really had some great spring/rebound. Triumph 18 is different. They still feel plush but the rebound isn't there. The midsole feels dead compared to the 17. I can't figure out what happened. Still a good shoe. Just not nearly as good as the 17.

The first thing i noticed when I opened the box was how bright the shoes were. They were a lot brighter than pictured on the website. After my first run in these, my feet were sore. Im not used to the amount of cushion on the triumphs and will not be able to continue to run with them. I dont blame the shoe, but i will stick to the freedom iso for now.

Inside a little slippery... fits great yet the fabric inside is a bit loose around the cushioning. There is a movement of the fabric beneath my feet resulting in a bit of a less confident feeling while running, and a slight squeak sometimes as I run. Not ideal, but works well enough.

Only two stars because I never got to try the shoes. They looked amazing. I am usually size 14 but I ordered size 15 to get little extra width. The shoes was so narrow I wasn't able to put them on. Wasn't my fault but the company charged me for the return. The reason I didn't exchange the shoes because wasn't available my size in extra wide. Not great formula for business if you like to keep your costumers.

This is a poor excuse for a "soft" shoe. It's fairly rigid given the stack height. Why is there such an aggressive upturn in the sole on the medial and lateral sides?? Whose feet are curved upwards on the sides of their foot?? For anyone looking at soft shoes, look at durometer numbers -- I bet this shoe has a midsole durometer measurement within 20% of the average shoe. There are shoes out there that are 50% softer than the average shoe, and this ain't it.
