I was diagnosed with hallux rigidus and experience a fair amount of pain without supportive footwear if I am on my feet for any length of time. This brand of shoe was recommended by an orthopedic doctor, along with Keen (for its rigid sole). This is my second pair of Bondi SR shoes, having over a year on my previous pair. They are durable - I am simply very hard on footwear. I work as a marine engineer on a 230' fishing vessel on the Bering Sea, and I spend a lot of time on my feet tending to machinery and conducting repairs in adverse conditions. My work requires an oil resistant material, slip resistance, and water resistance. I also need to be able to cut and grind steel or weld, so the full leather uppers provide that protection (take care not to burn the laces off). While not completely waterproof, I can walk through puddles and keep my feet dry - treating the leather will prolong its life. This shoe ticks all the boxes. In fact, they are the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. I keep my leather boots by my desk when I really need them, but I find myself spending most of my 12-hour shifts wearing these shoes day in, day out. I like them so much that I have a pair of Bondi 7s for home use when I am ashore.

Honestly I want to give these a five star because they are the best most comfortable shoes I’ve worn to work on hard kitchen floors along with my 6’ 290lbs. The only hold back is they truly are a Frankenstein looking shoe. I understand Hoka has a look but these are a step beyond. It’s a good thing they are so comfortable especially with my foot pains I’ve generally had in the past.

Walking in these shoes feels like you are walking in cushy springs! I purchased them for working long shifts in a restaurant. They truly are non-slip, as advertised. One interesting aspect is the way the toe is designed. As you start to push off with your toes, the soles are rounded in such a way as to allow you to push off with more power. In essence, you can walk faster with less effort. I’ve only been wearing them for a few weeks, so I hope they are durable, because they were not cheap! But so far, so great!

Shoes were too narrow for my foot even though I ordered a wide size. I returned them.
