First, I've worn Hokas since they first came out, so many, many years. I've recommended them to countless people who are now loyal customers. Why did Hoka change this once fabulous shoe??? I've worn every version of Stinson since it came out - so that's been over many years, and countless, countless pairs of shoes. They WERE my primary running shoe but also my main hiking and everyday shoe. I'm an ultra distance trail runner so I go though A LOT of shoes. Version 5 wasn't great but was still usable. This version 6 is narrower, less cushioned, and just different. The toe box is far more restricting and tight. It's different across the top of the top box as well. It pushes down on my toes and makes even walking very painful. It also is tighter across the sides. It's simply uncomfortable! I have always been able to put on a brand new pair of Stinsons and easily run a 20 mile, 5000' incline run. Now? I can't even run a mile! Or walk a mile without my feet ACHING. I even tried the men's version and it didn't help. They were still way too narrow, not as cushy, and simply weren't comfortable. So now I have no shoes to wear. And that's not an exaggeration. I've tried many other brands, including other trail Hokas (many times, giving them repeated chances both in women's and men's versions) and always returned to the Stinsons. For years, I've begged Hoka to come out with a low gore tex Stinson so I can wear it in the winter but don't, not anymore. Skip it if it's going to be like these 6's. PLEASE return to the old versions!!! I guess I'll have to get used to Altras or Brooks... Why change a good thing?? There are enough other options for folks who didn't prefer the Stinson. Why change them?

Let me first start off by saying I'm a huge Hoka fan. I was a runner/walker for years. Then one day, I injured my foot (planter fasciitis and tendinitis). I was pretty hopeless until my PT recommended Hoka. That's when I bought the first pair of Stinson 1. Loved those shoes and I walked well over 500 miles in them. I've owned 1,3,4, and just recently bought the 6 (because I was long overdue and wore out my Stinson 4s). I was so sad when I put them on. They are smaller in width than the 1, 3, and 4s and they hurt so bad when I walked for three miles. I've never had to break in a pair of Hokas, but I thought maybe that's what I need to do. Nope! My feet went numb and there was pain in so many different spots of my foot. So, to help break them in, I bought a shoe stretcher (I know that sounds crazy, but this is how much I loved my previous Stinsons. I literally can't do long walks without them). Did work. I am so, so deeply sad by the new stinsons. Here's what has changed from the 4s and warnings before you buy. 1. There is an ironed on strip that runs from the front of the toes to the side of the foot. This doesn't allow spreading out of toes and you walk long distances. It keeps them snug, too snug if you have a somewhat wider foot. 2. The cushion is harder than previous renditions. That may just take some getting used to, but it was noticeable. 3. The width of the shoe has changed from the 4s. This is the most aggravating part. I am only sometimes a wide (usually just in running/walking shoes so my feet can expand as I walk longer distances) and all my other shoes still fit. These are not as wide and it is so frustrating that there is no wide option in this shoe. These used to be the widest shoes they had. Please make the shoe a littler wider like before OR offer a wide option. I sincerely hope that this message gets to the designers. I love hokas, have converted dozens of people to this brand, and now I am disappointed that they've changed.

I wasn't sure that I could believe all the reviews about thiese shoes but then I got a pair. They are wonderful! So comfortable! I feel like I have extra spring in my step and I'm walking on air. I'll definitely be buying another pair - or more!

Love the comfort of these shoes

This shoe is firm at first but my last pair took a little bit to break in as well. That is not say they are uncomfortable, just a little stiff at first. However, I would not be able to do the running I do on trail and road without these supportive and comfortable shoes. I love my Hoka Stinsons!

I bought these shoes for my daughter she loves them so much. She said it feels like she is running on clouds. They are perfect for running outdoors and on a treadmill.

This shoe is consistently comfortable and so stable and cushioned perfectly!

This shoe is like walking on a cloud only concern is the side rubs a little need to wear a thicker sock will buy again

The shoes were a perfect fit and not chunky looking at all! Very comfortable and my feet feel great even after 12 hrs at work.

I bought my first pair of Stinsons at the suggestion of my orthopedist when I was recovering from a fracture, and I have continued to wear them for running ever since. Not only are they the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn, but I haven't suffered a repetitive stress injury since I started wearing them, whereas I used to get injured fairly often.

Gives loads of support . I have a narrow foot and I love the comfort, and these feel great walking. I typically wear Nike this is my first pair of Hoka. I'll be back for more. Love the color combo on this .
