I find the cushioning good but otherwise they are too clunky. I should have returned them instead of trying to make them work. I will say the nonskid soles do work

I have been shopping around for shoes since my recent foot surgeries. I decided on Hokas after seeing my physical therapist and a coworker with similar issues wearing them. No regrets. I got mine in wide because these are leather and they feel plenty roomy.

Poor SupportGreat Support
The tongue seam at the top and corners dig into my ankles and so couldn’t tie them all the way up. But I work at a hospital and am on my feet a lot and they were otherwise perfect. Other than the tongue issue, I loved them. Was on the chat with Hoka customer support for a long time. Finally decided to take a hammer to the top and corners of the tongue seams, which softened them up enough to wear, though showed a bit of wear and tear on those edges after that. Love them now!

I've been a server for close to 40 yrs, on my feet for 10+ hrs a day and these shoes are amazing! No pain or swelling anymore. 3 of my co workers have also bought them now. We're all happy!

A tip - redo your laces before wearing. Big difference in fit!
I work retail - concrete floor/on my feet 4-8hrs. I am in my 60's and have had pain in my feet, hips, and knees for years at work.
Now I just have tired feet - no pain! Thanks HOKA for Bondi SR!

It took a little more than a week to break them in. They're really no better than my sketchers. They make a weird noise when I walk too.
This is my first time trying this brand. I also wasn't sure which shoe to pick. I picked the one I thought would work best for me.
Not worth the money.

I suspect the designer of these shoes spent all their time in front of a computer screen and never went for a hike. If you examine the bottom of these shoes, you will see after a walk you will likely spend hours trying to clean the small gravel and mud out of the bottom. All the nooks and crannies catch every small pebble you walk over and they hold on tight to each pebble. Unless you have a servant to clean your shoes, you may be spending more time cleaning your shoes than hiking.

I like them o.k. the Toung is really bothering me. I like my shoes tight, and I cannot tie them tightly because then the Toung irritates the sides of my ankle.

I wore these shoes while performing my duties as a mail carrier. They were not nearly as comfortable as my other two pair of HOKAs. They rubbed blisters in places I never thought I'd get blisters. They were the same size as the others. Not comfortable at all.

I bought this Bondi SR for my wife who works as a phlebotomist that stands & walk around much of her work hours. Bondi SR is perfect as she needs a leather top as required to protect her feet from accidental needle drops and the known cushion feel of the Bondi series.
BUT when she puts them on the 1st time, she immediately felt the Top inner tongue edge is piercing hard against the sides her inner ankle bone. It could very well be that it's about her foot bone anatomy that she suffers this very uncomfortable issue but I am not a foot expert. She has to put heavy band aid to test it at home while she work around the kitchen. She has to loosen the tie a lot to a point that her heels moves up and down a little while she walks. Good thing is that there's nice foam around the edges that made it comfy still. It may eventually break in as shoe is a leather but not sure. The other issue but could just be false expectation is how much cloud plush they should feel. I am a new runner and tried both Bondi 8 & 7 but bought the 7 from a local store as they have a returned new pair on clearance that I couldn't resist, although I prefer the 8 for its softer feel. Anyways, I described her the plushness I felt on the 8 and thought the SR will be the same. Her description of the softness isn't up to her expectations softness level as she compares it to my son's Nike (don't the model) pair that he uses as an RN. The Nike was softer but noticeably not as thick a feel as she can feel the floor but not on SR. She also tried my Bondi 7 and she says her SR is just slightly softer but also noticeably thicker. I find 8 much softer than 7 but YMMV. Wife is petit and weighs only 115 lbs., hence maybe that was a factor too but not sure. Don't get me wrong here as she likes the black SR for the looks, angle of midsole to the top feels great that matches her strides, thick sole feel but not too high, relatively soft although she was expecting more but nevertheless acceptable enough.

My right pinky and adjacent one experienced pain after a couple hours wear.
The shoes compel different muscle usage and it is something to get used to. I had no problem with my feet to begin with. I like the shoe, but they need to break in.

Although there is a significant amount of cushioning, the comfort level is not there. If you lace then all the way up, the tops dig into the top of your foot.

Being a fast food worker with bone spurs and plantar fasciitis these shoes really help. Granted I accidentally I got them a bit to big and if I fully lace them up they cause my ankles to swell up, but I still wear them and my feet don't hurt.

I was able to work a nine hour day on my feet it was amazing. I later went to
florida and got fitted at a shoes store and found out I should have a 9.5 instead of a 10. so I bought another pair.

My feet still hurt unfortunately and I was hoping these would take the pain away. The tongue rubs on my ankle and is irritating. I'm not sure if it's the length of the young (kinda short). I still decided to keep them in hopes that they break in. The wide are definitely wide.. I probably should of ordered regular but I was worried about my toes getting too cramped. Looks like I'm wearing boats that look like off-road tires. I am trying to be as honest as possible. Most shoes don't help my pain so take it with a grain of salt. I kept them so that says something good. I'm a server and clock about 4 miles a shift and have 9 screws in heel.

This is my 2nd pair of Hoka shoes - these are specifically for work. I'm on my feet, non-stop, for 8-9 hours a day, and these shoes are a life saver. There was no "breaking in" required, and they're very supportive and comfortable. I also like the non-slip soles and washable upper surface. I do wish the laces were longer (I have wide feet and use up a LOT of lace haha) but otherwise, these are great. Two other coworkers have purchased these and are happy with them as well.

Desperately wanted these to work, because I need something very cushioned with water resistance. Alas, there's a prominent seam or ridge at the left outside edge of the shoe that's hitting me in exactly the wrong spot.
