I got my first pair of these bad boys 2 years ago, right before I moved from California warmth to a 2-year stint working and camping (for living) in remote Nevada. I wore these in snow, rain, and up to 75 warmth for my wildlife field technician work and they were by far my favorite pants. They are comfortable, stretchy, keep a nice appearance despite me literally rolling in dirt and mud, clean up perfectly, and insulate well. I would say they are good for cold weather down to 15 in that they cut through the cold, but you can still feel it somewhat (it's just not overbearing). Below that I needed a second layer to tolerate. I also have worn them dressed up (AFTER having worn them in muck, so they clean up well). In comparison to the Women's Merino Sport Fleece Wind Tight ($140), they are not as warm but I think they are slightly more durable (fabric has stretched out less over heavy use and hasn't gotten at all see-through). Both the wind tight and these are appropriate for wearing as stand-alone pants and don't "bag out" at the knees. Other smartwool base layer leggings are warmer but not as comfortable as stand alone pants because they stretch out. As far as fit, I am 5'11" and 140 pounds. I normally wear a small and the small does work for me hereBUT when first purchased they are alarmingly tight (like barely can put on tight), but they stretch out to fit as expected within a few washes. Length is very good for my 5'11" legs (thank goodness, that often doesn't work out). 100% would (and now have) bought again. And Smartwool has excellent customer service so can't go wrong there.

I absolutely love these tights. The fit/size (M) is perfect for my body (5'9' 140lbs). Just the right length that I can wear them with boots and they don't rise above. The stitching detail makes them much more than your average tight. I love them so much, I bought them in 3 colors and get compliments every time I wear them.

LOVE these leggings. I'm 5'3, 120lbs, usually wear small/med and bought a size med which fit great, but are a little long. I think a small would've also fit, maybe a bit better in length. I like that these are high rise and have a drawstring in the waistband if needed. The two side pockets are nice to have, especially the one that zips. These are comfortable enough to wear lounging around the house everyday, and still warm enough to wear snowshoeing (without any top layer!) I might have to also but the navy pair.

Me: 5'4" / 135 lbs / 29" waist I'm somewhere between small and medium. Small was definitely firm. Tightness showed especiallywhere fabric pulled around the zipper pocket at my hip. That's what really made them LOOK too small. But there was lots of extra fabric with the medium, in the length of the legs, and because it was less firm at the waist, it made rolls and there were obvious wrinkles at the crotch. Both sizes were stretchier and easier to pull on and off than the Sport Fleece Colorblock Tights because there is hardly any wool in the Moto Tights. The only merino here is in the waist band. Returned both sizes.

I love mine! I did size up for better comfort. I like the high waistline, the quality and the warmth. I would love to order more pairs and am hopeful these are something Smartwool will continue to make.

The merino leggings are fantastic for running on cold winter days. Nice plum color. Sturdy. Not stinky. Nice pockets. My only complaint is that they are a bit long, but this is not really a problem as the extra bunching just helps keep my ankles warm! I really love that I'm not sending microplastics into the waterways when I wear and wash wool. #sweepstakes

#sweepstakes These leggings are so comfortable, I bought a second in a different color. I usually wear a Medium, but I like a bit of extra room around my waist and the Large is perfect for me.

Very warm comfortable, perfect fit, material is flexible but doesn't lose its form but also does not constrict movement . Awesome, well made , good design

Awesome color, fits a bit small. Likely because it is a merino wool blend. Other Smartwool leggings in 100% merino wool fit just right.

These leggings are really nice for working out or just lazing around the house. They seem go be of high-quality construction and nice fabric. The 'moto' detailing seems slightly unnecessary, but it's interesting I guess. My only complaint is that they tend to slide down a bit over time (not like falling off, just moving downward out of place), so I have to readjust them occasionally.

Smartwool has definitely made me a fan of tights, that includes the Moto tight. I absolutely love wearing them hiking or going out. Super comfortable but I run unusually hot for a woman so hiking in these tights in 70 degrees or higher makes me too hot. That really goes for any brand that makes tights. I have been wearing these tights in 60 degree weather or colder and feel great. I want to order more in different colors because these tights are that awesome.

This is my 3rd pair of these leggings. They are warm, stylish, and can be dressed up or down. They fit well and are flattering. They wear well too. My other pairs are a few seasons old. I even ordered more in other colors. My only complaint is that I'm short 5'0" so they are long. But I can tuck them in a pair of boots.

Love these leggings! I think they run a little small, so I order a small when I typically might be an XS. (5'2", 107 lbs) So comfortable for everyday use!

Warmest leggings ever. Lots of pockets. I live at 9K feet where it can be -30 for weeks and I live in these. I own 4 pairs. The only problem is they are pet hair magnets so sometimes I look like a yeti. A very warm yeti.

I absolutely LOVE these tights!! I originally ordered them in navy and wear them so much that I got a second pair in the black. They are so stylish and warm, the pockets are a huge plus. I was not disappointed that they really are not merino, the comfort and style they provide succeeded my expectations and made them a worthwhile purchase. I ordered a M, I am 5-7, 130 lbs with muscular thighs. They are a tad snug going on, as other reviewers have mentioned, but once on I forget they are there and they never lose their shape. My favorites!

I really like these pants. They have nice ample pockets. They fit well and the leg length is great for longer legs.
