I wear it to work over a t-shirt and as a mid-layer while hiking. Nobody knows my beautiful sweater is actually a base layer. Maybe I should have bought two.

This is a very comfortable top. I'm 6'2" 160 lbs. and bought the large. It is very warm and a great fit.The zipper is nice for dumping heat while exerting. I would highly recommend purchasing this wool top.

I practically live in my Smartwool, indoors and out. The fit, pattern and warmth are just right. Pilling has rarely occurred: I do machine wash warm, inside out, and hang on towel bars to dry. My only caution is that the bottoms, which I did not order in this case, have recently been running tight at the waist, which has made me order Extra Large, while I am still fitting fine in Large tops ( my weight has not changed). This may have something to do with the newest items now being made in Vietnam.

Hasn't been cold enough to use this but I already know these are outstanding for active winter time pursuits as I already own 3 more in different colors!

I had two of these and one of the athletic models. They were my everyday winter wear I didn't think I needed to wear a button down. Merino meant I could get multiple days of wear between washings as I rotated the tops each day. It was no problem if I decided to take some laps at the x-country course, the top stayed on as a layer. The patterned ones are good looking enough for a classy night out in our ski town. And they are durable having worn well. I think they look new. I may have to get another just to keep my look fresh LOL.

Love this pattern, the artist did a great job making this look subtle without being too tiny of image. Looks great with a vest and jeans. Size fit great on my BF who's 5'9".

Great piece!! Very comfortable and warm. Really nice next to skin feel. On top of all that it looks great! My only problem is that the cuff of the sleeves tends to get a bit loose after a few consecutive wears without a wash. That is pretty normal for a wool piece though. It's just not something that happens in my intraknit 200. Overall highly recommend, but If you are like me and constantly pulling up your sleeves, you might be better off with the 200 since the sleeves are designed to be pulled up.

I use it for everything, I specially like the pattern of the garment, very sharp! Perhaps better color selection would be added profile.

Awesome, working outside day in and day out this piece has proven its versatility. Great fit, great performance, and gotta love being able to get away without the smell of synthetics. Long live merino!!!

This is my second 1/4 zip shirt that I've purchased, and am very happy with the product. It always amazes me how this stuff seems to regulate my body heat over a wide range of temperatures. I can wear it as my only layer skate skiing in 20 degree weather, but can remain comfortable well into the 40s and even low 50s. Plus, it does not retain odor the way many other fabrics do. I've had my first Smartwool zip T over two years and it looks as good as the day I purchased it. Is the stuff expensive? Definitely. However, you'll not be sorry that you made this investment.

Great fit albeit a little loose around the abdomen. Feels comfy against the skin and is warm. I'll enjoy it for a while I'm sure
